i agree with your opinion on an expensive wedding! we are just having a simple ceremony with lunch catered for close family only. the calculated spend on this was just under 2000. :) we are of course going dutch on this though he insisted on paying for the rings! he has finished his studies and is working full time right now. in fact, i think he feels the financial burden more after he started working. i have never dated him for his money, and i have repeatedly told him that expenses should alwa…

hello! thanks for taking time out to respond. i might be over reacting but it does feel like 360 to me. :( in terms of normal communication, it seems like we are joking and talking less, physical intimacy is totally zero.. i am kinda running away from the problem cos i dun really see how i can solve it or help.. it is taking a toll on my emotions cos having discussions about our future shut down without any reason makes me extremely insecure, sad and angry.. it is just less than 1/2 year away un…

hmm, i havent treated him any different so i am not too sure on this aspect. if you are talking about association with other guys, i usually bring him along. i do draw the line and dun really go out 1-1 with other guys ~.~

i will make a consicous effort to stop bringing it up. i agree with points 1-3 and have some issues with point 4-6 >.< he's not keen on making financial decision. he will just tell me that he will leave it up to me ._. I do encourage him to do it, even with the house.. he just stated he wanted a room for his mancave and taht he will leave everything else up to me.. we always joke that my money is my money and his money is my money so everything is mine :x that aside, i dun say it much but i do t…

tbh, it has already been almost 3 months ;( his current job has no career progression but he likes it there and we feel thats what's most important in a job :)

Thanks for responding. :) Your assumption is correct! I did ask if he mind, and if he did, I wouldnt have taken up the job tbh.. he said that it was ok and that it would be good to have a higher combined income in future. i guess i cant really help him out in this aspect of realizing how important he is to me ;(

i think you shouldnt be comparing between life alone and life with him. the grass is always greener on the other side. :) why not take a step back and think of how life would be without him.

hello! as i have always been a lurker and just created an account for some advise, i think some of my replies are removed as my account is too new? I do apologise if your advise is unreplied as I am not sure what is showing up and what is not as all replies are showing up on my screen. >.<

i have problems because it feels like he is shutting himself away from me because i have more gold silver and copper in my chests. i would happily give it away to have things back to normal T.T

hello! i am considering the option of letting him go cos this has been going on for a couple of months, and in its kind of taking its toll on me (yes i know i am running away from the problem >.<) me paying for the bulk of stuff didnt seem to matter when we were dating (when he was still studying). it was when he started working, and together with my sudden pay increment that things started getting bad.. i will try to stop questioning him and let things ride out.. thanks for your advise. :)

ill try to give him more space.. i have been pretty supportive (i think) of his plans to future his studies and telling him to go for it.. wedding wise, he wanted to chip in as well, so we opted for something really simple with just close family members. i think the entire wedding cost sits just under 2000 which is affordable for both of us.. i honestly dun think i will always be making more than him, but he does think that way, saying stuff like im never gonna catch up to you @.@ i will try sup…

iirc, about when i told him about my new pay increment. tbh, wedding and house expenses are already planned and set aside so i dun feel there is an issue ~.~ when i say vacation, i actually mean a short weekend getaway. We reside in Asia so a short weekend getaway to a neighbouring countries costs under 1000 even if we splurge on food and hotels. >.< I would understand if he wants to step up his career but i do wish he would talk to me about it instead of leaving me guessing..

i am definitely guilty of bringing this up in jokes.. i didnt think of it this way as i assumed he knew that money wasnt an important factor to me.. assumptions are always bad T_T

.< this might be true i suppose. I am hung up on the commitment portion as this was in discussion months before I received a pay increment.. to make things clearer, I was always earning more, just that it kinda tipped the scales to be double of what he is earning.. ._.

Repeated asking of whether he is upset about my pay increment and if not, what is he upset about.. i dun think my attitude has changed in any ways, in terms of what i expect of him or in our day to day lives..
