Anyone who says 'you're not attractive enough to be sexually assaulted' is not someone I'd rely upon for accurate data about sexual assault rates.

No man who speaks to you disrespectfully like this will ever change, whether you communicate or not. Good men don't do it to begin with. And the last comment??? 'How do I bring it up without sounding like a critical bitch'????? Why the fuck do you care more about how a disgusting man perceives you than about asserting your needs?????

Yes, but only from my most recent sexual partner (out of 6), because he loved eating me out and was also incredibly good with his fingers. He was honestly so close to being HV but I still had to leave him because of the few issues we had.

Honestly this should be required reading for any woman who wants to have children with a man at some point in her life. This reinforced my childfree attitudes and my extreme caution when it comes to finding partners, but every non-childfree woman should have this level of caution when looking at marriage/kids. Her story, while horrible, could happen to anyone. So many women suffer as a result of having kids, either physically or with their relationship or both. Society does nothing to emphasise …

It's so frustrating because men will be desperate for us to carry and birth their biological children so their fucking bloodlines can continue, but as soon as we do it, they are disgusted by our bodies and begin to hate us for expecting them to care for their children. The difference in mental perception when you hear the terms 'woman' and 'mum' says it all really. Honestly marriage and children are just a trap for women at this point, and it's one of the reasons why I refuse to have children. I…

I understand that perspective, and my mother definitely feels that Russians are a hated nation in countries like the UK/US. That doesn't change the fact that Russia's many problems exist, however. In a thread like this, which is specifically created to criticise gender relations in Russia, I don't see how it's problematic to talk about Russia's poor attitudes towards women. At the end of the day, whatever your intended point may have been, in saying 'If you think UK is much better than Russia in…

I have also lived in both the UK and Russia and prefer living here. I don't think the UK is a safe haven for any marginalised group but from what I've seen of Russia the human rights violations are much worse. It's like comparing the UK and Poland - yeah there's sexism in both places but in Poland abortion is illegal whereas in the UK it is legal and free on the NHS.

I've been told I have the repressive mindest of a man in the 1950s because I don't like porn. As if the only reason I could dislike porn is a sense of blind moralism and not because it's inherently exploitative.

Well, it's each country's 'culture' to be various degrees of oppressive towards certain groups of people. I don't see the distinction you're making. If the prevailing attitude in a country is one of discrimination, then that is its culture, and those who are more liberal are just progressive members of that culture.

I completely agree. Every day everywhere is men's day. Don't need a specially named one to boost their egos even more.

To be fair, Russia does also celebrate International Women's Day as a proper meaningful holiday, unlike in the UK where it's just a vague corporate virtue signal. Still, I am so glad I was brought up in the UK because Russian culture is incredibly oppressive towards pretty much any minority including women. It's just that over there gender oppression still exists in its more traditional forms, rather than under the guise of liberal feminism which exists in the west.

I've found that so many women will talk about it being 'empowering' to engage in whatever form of sex work, and libfems will just go 'that's great, yeah, good for you' without at all examining what she means by 'empowering' and whether she is actually being empowered or is simply enjoying what she does.

One of the things about dating women is that there isn't an inherent gender inequality. A lot of the principles of this sub (not paying for dates, not going 50/50 etc.) come from the assumption that you will be dating a man. With women, it may be more appropriate to pay for a date, for example if you've asked her out, because the justifications for not paying don't always stand up to scrutiny from a wlw point of view. There are other principles here that still apply though. Women can be shitty p…

I wish I could, but I got muted for 'swerf rhetoric' despite not attacking sex workers as a group but rather the industry itself. Decided to leave because it was too toxic.

No actually, it was a group for calling out women who uphold misogyny. Ironic really.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/02/21 06:37 PM

Some of the women criticising me were sex workers who said that they enjoyed it/found it empowering. I responded that they have a very privileged and western-centric view of the world. Just because you individually enjoy something does not mean you speak for all women, and let's be honest, how many more vulnerable sex workers have a laptop and a facebook account and the time to be arguing over whether the sex industry is inherently misogynistic?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/02/21 04:24 PM

UPDATE: I got temporarily muted for 'swerf rhetoric' so I left the group. If the only form of feminism you allow in a feminist group is one which agrees with every single opinion you have, I don't want to know. And still nobody has managed to explain to me why being a swerf is bad.

The TikToker said, right at the bottom of the screenshot, something about sex being intimate and that sex work is devaluing this, so I think the comment is saying that not all sex is this wonderful intimate thing because people can just have one night stands. But of course, the response to that is that casual sex is also bad for women.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/02/21 12:58 PM

Honestly I have been arguing with people on that group for the past hour and none of them have said anything other than 'they make money, what's wrong with that' or 'lots of sex workers work in safe conditions'. One woman literally told me that choice is the only thing that matters when it comes to empowerment and oppression. They completely misunderstand the issue.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/02/21 12:04 PM

I'd also like to point out how the majority of the women arguing that this TikTok is bad are white, and most of the women who are responding positively to my comments about how prostitution is bad are women of colour. Shows how easy it is for privileged women to view exploitative practices as 'empowering' because their only perspective of sex work is OnlyFans.

My mother has always said that you attract certain people based on the energy you give off. I'm not saying she's always right, and it's always felt VERY victim blamey because I've had difficulties in my life, but there is some truth to it. Example 1: my friend, who was sexually abused by older male relatives throughout childhood, constantly had older guys coming onto her as an underage teen. Nobody else I knew as a teenager ever had this issue, even though we all lived in the same area. Example …

As well, most movies are produced, directed and written by men. It's men who are propagating the idea that a woman hitting a man is funny, not women. Because they find it funny that an enraged woman is still relatively powerless against a man. It's the same type of humour as the trope of the man carrying the screaming woman throwing a tantrum over his shoulder. The slap is either a joke against the woman for being weak even when she's angry, or a joke at the man for being so weak and 'feminine' …

I don't look for a man to be a 'good provider', because I have enough money to support myself. I expect him to be able to contribute to the relationship as he damn well should. And most decent men are attracted to highly educated women, which has nothing to do with the woman 'being a provider' but being an actually interesting and self-sufficient person. Also, using his analogy, women should be the 'buyer' and men should be the one demonstrating their value. I am at risk of rape, domestic abuse,…

And the thing is, a lot of the men who vehemently deny that women have a greater role in creating life are also the men who let the woman do all the childrearing work because she has 'mothering instincts' and is therefore somehow better qualified to raise kids. Pick a fucking side man.

I'm doing a 100 mile running challenge for a domestic abuse charity this month and this has been a massive concern for me. In this case, posting runs publicly is kinda necessary for proof if you've been fundraising, but there are ways to do it safely (for example, make your runs private on Strava, screenshot and crop out the map so it only shows the statistics, post to social media). There were DV survivors on the group doing the challenge saying their ex had moved closer to them recently and it…

Would she say 'stop not talking to people who have hurt you' in a real life context? Because it's the same logic. Why, in my day-to day life, should I speak to someone who has abused or disrespected me? And if I'm allowed to stop seeing them in real life, why should I keep them around on social media?

Men are fucking weak. I had zero physical affection for 16 years combined with extreme mental health issues, a toxic friendship group, a chronically ill single mother and an alcoholic father. I think my viewpoint is informed by the fact that I'm bi. If sex with another woman involves oral/touching, then I don't see why that standard shouldn't apply to het sex as well. I'm glad I helped you see things in a different light! I definitely see your point about the acts leading up to sex. I would never want to be with a man who, once our clothes are off, just went straight to PIV without any touching/kissing/oral. And if a guy was good at foreplay I'd definitely be willing to have sex even…
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/02/21 09:13 AM

But I take the 'no sex before commitment' rule to include any sexual contact, not just PIV. To me handjobs/blowjobs are part of sex. Grinding with clothes on I can understand but if the dick is coming out that indicates sex to me. To be fair my sexual experiences as a teenager weren't exactly normal so maybe that's why I'm struggling to understand this haha.

Yeah that's fair. It's just that they specifically said they would have seen the penis which is a bit confusing imo. Rubbing against it seems to be the only logical way to go about it.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy12/02/21 10:13 PM

I literally don't though haha. I don't see how I'm supposed to see an erect penis to assess its size without having sexual contact with the man whose penis it is, and I've never seen anyone advocating penis inspections.

I don't really understand how though. So you shouldn't have sex until you're in a committed relationship but it's okay for him to get his dick out before that? In what context would that happen? Handjobs? Watching him use the toilet??? If it's handjobs then the whole no sex before commitment line is getting very blurred, and I personally would refuse to do that anyway because I hate handjobs. Unless we're supposed to just ask them to get their dicks out for the purpose of inspection, which is ju…

Has anyone here ever walked away from sex after they've seen a guy's dick? If so how have you done it? Do you just say 'I don't want to fuck anymore' and leave? It just seems like a really awkward circumstance but I don't ever want to fuck a guy with a tiny penis lol.

Most people I've met who are all 'misandry' or 'reverse racism' are people who don't take the idea of systemic oppression seriously in the first place. To them misogyny and other forms of discrimination are examples of individual bigotry rather than a wider problem.

Meanness =/= systemic oppression. I can be mean to a man but that man can just turn around and rape me. No man ever has to feel like he is only safe because women decide not to hurt him, but that's exactly how women feel about men. I don't speak to any man who cries misandry.

This is disgusting. The single piece of advice every woman knows, even if they don't put it into practice, is that you should never stay with a man if he hits you. And yet, these people think it's okay to equivocate and use moral relativism to put the blame on this woman. Someone can say nasty things and not be a great person but at the end of the day if a man is willing to hit his partner he is dangerous. I can't believe these people.

I think it's fine to have V day just for the female partner, but that makes more sense if you're both exchanging gifts throughout the rest of the year. If the guy is constantly buying gifts/doing things for me on normal days then it's not really fair not to show appreciation on V day. If he's less generous, then V day is the opportunity for him to go big, and I wouldn't feel guilty for not doing anything for him.

Exactly. Society brainwashes so many women into thinking they want kids, and into accepting shitty men into their lives who then make piss poor husbands and fathers. For the few women who are honestly happy after having children, it's easy to say they've been empowered, but they are an extreme minority.

I don't see how childbirth and motherhood can be empowering in this society. For something to be empowering, it can't just be a choice you've made autonomously. That is simply an expression of power. To be empowering it must objectively increase power. As was discussed in the screenshots, the only way it could be considered empowering is if you consider the influence on your child 'power', but quite frankly this is a massive reach. And now onto the downsides. Men constantly coerce and deceive wo…

Individualising women's struggles is one of the tools that liberal feminism and modern patriarchy use to maintain the oppression of women. If it's all about individual empowerment and choice then each woman is free to do what she wants with her life without any mind paid to other women, and that's enough for her to feel comfortable as a 'feminist'. She no longer has to work with others or campaign for others. Feminism as a movement no longer really exists. It's been reduced to a personality trai…

Communication can only work in very limited circumstances. The thing he did wrong must not have been a violation of any sort of basic standard of decency or respect. If he has done this, he is a misogynist and an asshole. It must have been something which someone could legitimately have been mistaken about, and it must not be part of a pattern of wilful ignorance. Once his error has been communicated to him, he must actually demonstrate that he cares by changing his behaviour. If he does not, fu…

I remember reading a post that said if someone is slamming a door [or insert any other act of physical violence directed at an inanimate object], they are communicating that they really want to hit you but feel like they can't. As a child I never understood why my mother was so angry if I ever slammed a door but now I realise it's because it's an intimidation tactic, one which was used by my father before she left him. I will not stand for any partner of mine doing it.

I know if I intended to work somewhere like that I would expect that the men would look at my body. I wouldn't expect men to grope me or make inappropriate comments. It's the same principle as when a woman goes out in revealing clothing - she might intend or desire to be looked at, but she doesn't want to be harassed or assaulted. Of course harassment is sadly always a risk, but as employees they should be protected from it by their employers.

999 is the equivalent 911 so it's the usual police-ambulance-fire service. If you call 999 because someone is suicidal they will send an ambulance to the person you're calling for. If someone has already done something to themselves, they'll arrive pretty quickly, whereas if someone is merely expressing suicidality they'll usually deprioritise the case, partly because it's obviously not a pressing medical emergency and partly because this allows time for the person to be 'talked down' so that th…

That's fair enough. In the UK I can somewhat understand calling the police, especially if the person has not actually done anything to harm themselves yet. The reason people calling the police in the US baffles me is because their police are armed and I have heard many stories of mentally ill individuals/people having seizures being treated roughly by the police. They are poorly trained to deal with crises like this and have a reputation for being trigger-happy.

Edit: I've removed this comment because it was ignorant of some important nuances regarding mental health. While many suicide threats I've experienced have simply been empty manipulation, this is not always the case, and the response from u/Pyjama_party is far more useful than mine with regards to what you should do in these circumstances.

In the UK you'd call 999 and they would triage based on the urgency of the risk (eg have they already done something or are they just threatening?). To me it seems peculiar to call the police for anything other than a crime, but I often see people from the US in particular saying call the police for a wide range of things. Why is this?

I don't even know what my type is but I generally like typically attractive, intelligent guys. But somehow, when I was given attention by short, unattractive, scruffy, stupid guys, I went straight for them because I was just desperate for attention. What a joke.

I completely agree. It's like when men bring up male rape in response to women's concerns about rape. Makes it impossible to discuss anything after that.

A lot of these feminists who preach 'sex work is work' confuse being against sex work with hating sex workers. I don't judge sex workers, because I recognise that many have been basically forced into it. I stand with other women, always. That doesn't mean I can't judge the commercial porn industry, trafficking, prostitution, and the people who use these 'services' on a daily basis.

There are people on YT who've made comments like 'wow good for him calling 999 to try and stop himself' and 'he's clearly schizophrenic, I can't imagine how tough it is for him' like ????? I'm sorry, I don't care what mental illness you have, if you stab your wife in the chest you're disgusting.

Even men I wouldn't consider high value have made a point of walking me straight to my door or watching me from the end of the street if I ask them to be discreet. It's the bare minimum.

Thank you for your response, that's a really helpful way of putting it!

I got downvoted on unpopularopinion for simply clarifying that FDS doesn't advocate for having casual sex/sex with multiple men, and saying that there's nothing wrong with a man paying for dates with a woman who may be going on dates with several men at once.

I really relate to you, and it's one thing that I really struggle with when going on FDS, because the advice tends to be focused on securing marriage with an HVM. If I don't want marriage, what should I do? Swear off relationships completely? Date people but only in the short term? Become a 'forever girlfriend' (which is looked down upon here)?

The funny thing is that the video I can see in the screenshot was a woman who works two jobs while studying saying that you should try to stay busy rather than wasting time on unfulfilling relationships. If men are crying hate speech because women see more value in achievement than in serving men's egos then they're just confirming her point lmfaooo.

Yeah I agree with you. I have no judgement towards individual women who get cosmetic surgery for any reason, but promoting cosmetic surgery as a method of self-improvement using the typical liberal feminist 'it's empowering if I say it is' tactic is scummy af. It's one thing to acknowledge that surgery is an option, it's another thing to jump up and shout 'surgery' any time someone expresses insecurity or has a slight imperfection.

This is horrific. Stage 4 and going into a nursing home means she's going to die, and this is how he chooses to act during the last days of her life. She's being "exceptionally rude" and "cries hysterically" all the time? Yeah, dickwad, she's dying. How did you expect her to act? I understand being a full-time carer is tough, but he just said that his sons would take care of her too. There's no excuse. I have no patience for men who abandon their ill wives because I've seen it happen and it's th…

I absolutely agree with you regarding plastic surgery. I've gotten braces solely for cosmetic purposes and there's definitely a case for cosmetic procedures being available to those who want it. From what I've heard, though, many many people who get cosmetic surgery feel no more confident afterwards because their issue wasn't with how they looked but rather with self-esteem. Routinely encouraging insecure women who don't have any severe physical flaws to undergo expensive and taxing surgery for …

One thing I love about Legally Blonde is when Elle is describing Vivian (her ex's new gf), she doesn't call her ugly. She says that she could use some styling but that she doesn't look bad. I hate it when women call other women ugly as a putdown because all they're actually saying is 'I'm more appealing to men, so I'm better than you'. Elle being able to say that she doesn't like Vivian without criticising her looks is refreshingly feminist.

Of course, because it allows them to put the onus on women to "prevent" their own rapes by having more sex, rather than on men to stop being animals. This is despite the fact that, logically, a woman who has sex when she doesn't want to is being raped anyway, just not in the legal sense, so women becoming more sexually available doesn't make anything better anyway.

'Rape is going to skyrocket'. No. 'Men will decide to rape women more'. Rape isn't a passive process.

Absolutely. As a teenager I was infatuated with the idea of being a wild romantic. I'd be in unrequited love with people for years. I'd fall easily and hard. Now, the idea of falling for someone who isn't actively interested in me seems ridiculous and tiring. The next step for me is to keep my head even when I enter a relationship in the early stages, which is something I really struggle with, so I empathise with your experience completely.

I absolutely agree with you. I've struggled finding men who don't get some sort of pleasure from winding people up. It's clearly about a complete lack of respect for the people around them. And, let's be honest, it's ALWAYS done to women.

When my mum was recovering from paralysis due to MS, my dad stole her benefits and used them to go on holiday. He brought back a bottle of olive oil he'd bought with her money and gave it to her as a gift. She kicked him out at some point after that. Funnily enough the same man, after my grandmother died, used his position as executor of my grandmother's will to take my inheritance...and go on holiday with it. Didn't matter that I was his daughter and he 'loved me'. LVM never change and they don…
