I couldn't even describe/didn't know about my problem til I read this, but you are so right. I feel like hooking up/esculating with easier targets is messing with the trajectory I should take with potential girlfriends. I don't have any clue how to fix it though.

Tinder is as casual a dating site as you can imagine, so keep that in mind. You still have to see if you and this person connect in person. Don't pick her up, tell her to meet you somewhere for drinks. The time doesn't matter much, whenever you both are free. Anytime 6-11 will be fine. But the later you pick will give a stronger "come to my place tonight" vibe. Don't wait for the goodnight kiss, Ive found if it comes down to that you've already missed. Goodluck!

If she never responds just let it go.

All you know for sure is that in a certain (loveless) situation, she has cheated before. If she's in a similar situation again, no reason she won't cheat again. But maybe you're situation is better, and she'd never even thing about it. Who knows?

Yes we're on the same page. You just described what I meant with the last part of that in a better way. Working on raising that threshold.

I more meant the difference between girls I meet everyday, (still interested), and girls I think are really special. And that my progress isn't necessarily getting better with girls, but having the mindset Ive had with average girls with great girls.

Very tough to say without context. Its very possible she's physically attracted (hence IOIs), but you didn't build enough comfort to hang out alone yet (hence no 1on1). So maybe, maybe not.

Good advice! What I normally do is go with my friends, but then isolate the girl I am interested in, and talk to her solo 90% of the night. Bystanders would have to see me walk into the bar with my friends or early in the night to know I didn't come alone. I think the thing that bothers me most is that its people Ive never even noticed who say this about me. Im friendly with almost everyone at the bar, but Im also not going to go out of my way to talk to someone angrily sitting by themselves who…

Yes! but initially I make more friends, the problem is when I keep that mentality going forward IMO. Im curious on your thoughts of switching from Meeting friends to establishing friends.

You're on point, Thats were I've been hovering. I can nail the cocky/funny initially, but haven't been changing my technique. The next day test is interesting, but I really don't want girls to describe our date as "pretty good" or "decent". Fine line, not sure where I stand. Im not kidding when I say this, but they've all agreed to multiple meet ups. That makes me think I have the looks to date the girls I want. Im just giving off the asshole vibe somehow.

Thanks, I need to work on that transition. Shouldn't be too hard, if anything I'm putting on a bit of a front when I just meet girls, I am generally romantic/sweet

Invested wasn't the right word, you described it better. Even during somewhat deep conversations I think I just never get out of the introduction, "why are you interesting?" mindset. Edit: I've been on the "too nice" side of the line for 20ish years, the "jerk" side for a few months. Time to iterate!

thanks, that makes a lot of sense! One thing I didn't understand, but now I think I do, is why it starts out great when we meet, but then slowly gets worse. I was constantly making an effort to not appear too invested, like I normally would have. I need to work on the transition to being more invested. That should be easy since thats the way I am naturally.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
