I think she is hilarious and awesome, but I think is also a victim of falling into the cool girl trope. I don't know if her profession just demands it, but I saw her on Joe Rogan and it honestly was painful to watch. Wish she was more comfortable with herself, considering how successful she is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BL_EQgVmvKA

Some couples are in co-dependent and dysfunctional relationships. I admit I like some of his music, but I also think somebody who grew up in the projects selling crack, without a dad, and rolls out misogynistic albums is hardly someone I would have expectations of being the greatest husband. He is rich and famous, but also understand the image which he used to get there.

He's honestly a closeted narcissist. At least Barney is a self-aware narcissist. Ted hides his narcissism under the good guy veil. Always thought that show was annoying AF. Barney was the only entertaining dude.

I was thinking today how dog is such a terrible term to call LVMs. It is not an insult to LVMs, but is an insult to dogs. Dogs are wonderful, loving, loyal, faithful creatures who stand by you through thick and thin, they make you laugh and they warm your heart. They provide more emotional support than an LVM ever would/could. LVMs are indeed clowns, not dogs.

When will media/society stop romanticizing harassment/stalking/obsessive behavior? It's absolutely unacceptable and criminal., and frightening. As somebody who had a controlling father that had no understanding of boundaries, I have trauma. I get panic attacks when a guy becomes too obsessive, or doesn't give me the space I need. I see red flags immediately.

True for both genders. I can certainly think of times when I was hesitant and flaky towards a man, because I just knew in my heart of hearts that he was wrong for me. Anytime we are uncertain of something, we will naturally be unwilling to commit. But yeah, have had this happen to me, and it sucks to be on the receiving end.

It's not just sexist- it is deeply, shockingly, disturbingly patriarchal! Misogyny is openly accepted even in this day and age, and after immigrating to first world countries. I'm estranged from my family as well, because of their holier than thou, narcissistic attitudes. I moved out pretty early. After I made it on my own, they started to beg me to be a part of my life again. Yeah, kindly fuck off. I already know how much of a shit you give about me. My family dynamics were never constructed to…

Sometimes this sub really gets me depressed. Will the male species become extinct as we realize how utterly useless they are? As more women get into leadership in politics, business, healthcare, and apply their superior organizational skills, empathy, IQ, hard work, will men be relegated to construction/garbage collection/movers? Women will drive the economy, realize they don't need male partners except to have sex, and be content alone. Men have been gatekeepers for so many industries by levera…

We all know. We all know, this is not a fucking secret or anything. Average men will fuck children if they're allowed to or can get away with it. Males are all fucking pedos. Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. Thank you. I remember being sexualized at an early age. I remember how creepy men would look at me from a young age, as young as 8. It impacts your psyche in unimaginable ways. We all carry trauma from being sexualized too early, yet we aren't allowed to talk about it openly. We accept it …

He finally matched with someone after wanking off to thousands of profile pics. Legitimately though,. I know this for a fact because even my extremely good looking male colleague has shared stories of how he has only 5 matches, when I had hundreds. It is legit very difficult for guys to match because guess what, girls aren't all that desperate. It's just like real life.

Yeah, I'm finally at that point. I think looking outside your industry can help too. For example if your spouse is a doctor or lawyer or similarly successful in another profession, resentment may not be an issue.

Someone who challenged me and supported me, even if it meant my work would ruin theirs because it would be our TEAMS success and not just his failure. He had to put his project on the shelf but he became my assistant and eventually got to lead a new project and never held a grudge. Just sounds like a really dope person all round, not just as a spouse. We need more people like this in professional environments! Nothing more stressful and toxic than a colleague who is trying to sabotage your work,…

Wow! Thanks for the perspective. That's unfortunate. It's not completely your fault either. Millenia of gender norms and societal norms die hard. However, I already see this changing in my generation. For women my age, in their 20s and 30s, we are valuing homemakers more. Maybe it's not quite sexy yet, but I do hope I wouldn't lose my attraction to my man because he decides to stay home. Some positive change indicators are paternity leave becoming a much more normal thing, and a common benefit p…

Well yeah, of course, it's all common sense. Like for example, don't be with an abusive man, period. That doesn't change the fact that hundreds of thousands of women die from domestic violence, and continue to remain in abusive relationships. It's an important conversation to have. Even in 2020, women who stay single beyond a certain age are viewed sometimes with unease. Women in their 30s who are single and professionally driven are still considered weird or what's wrong with her, type of menta…

I wouldn't agree that every woman is professionally ambitious, just as I wouldn't agree that every man is professionally ambitious. I know some male colleagues who are happy to perform the same job for years on end, whereas other colleagues express their desire to get into leadership, take on more responsibility, or decide alternatively to prioritize their families over their careers and take a step back. Not everybody is ambitious, be it man or woman. This article is specifically providing advi…

psychotic toddler What an apt description. I'm so ashamed of him. It never occurred to me until recently how immature and childish my father has always been. I've cut off all contact and blocked him. His failure to be a good father is the reason I have such a difficult time with romantic relationships, and pick the wrong men. We don't pick our parents, and it is nothing short of tragic when somebody is born into an abusive home. I find myself struggling to build a happy future because of my trau…

I've always thought he looked like a complete dick, and when I saw the disparity in attractiveness and age between his spouse and himself, I became even more sure. Usually men whose wives are disproportionately more attractive than them are insecure betas.

He's a lunatic for sure, but I think this is the first time I've seen such a partisan misogynist. It's not just the misogyny that's the issue. It's the highly political undertone of any discourse between Americans. It's bizarre, and scary. Since the 2016 election, it seems like 2 people cannot have a civil discussion about ANY issue without accusing the other of being a member of the party they oppose. WTF?

I don't like double standards, so if I met a never married 50 yr old woman, would I judge her and think it was weird? No. I would give somebody the benefit of the doubt, but of course, if he's like a 50 year old dating 20 somethings a la Leo Dicaprio, I would run away.

Also, it doesn't mean you will be equally fetishized by every nationality of white people. For example, Scandinavian men are different compared with American men, who are different to Italian men, who are different to German men.

Don't you ever get sick of getting fetishized as a Latina or Mexican? As a Canadian, when I moved to the States, I noticed how common this was among men "Oooh I'm dating a Mexican", and frankly found it pretty disgusting and repulsive to reduce someone to stereotypes of their ethnic background. What a bunch of morons. Sadly, I found that SOME Hispanic women had tendencies towards self-fetishizing their Latina status. It's kind of sad, and basic. When Alexandra Cortez came into power, regardless …

I had emotionally abusive parents, so unfortunately, I was raised with the belief that I was hard to love. That I had to be perfect in order to be loved. That I was always imperfect, no matter how I tried. So in turn, this meant, in romantic relationships I also felt the need to seek out complicated relationships and unhealthy dynamics in order to feel like something was "real". I'm unlearning that though. It's hard work, but cutting my parents off has helped a ton.

u/NecessaryCook This is such an amazing and important post. Being easy going and go with the flow, as many women are taught to do can really backfire.
