For me, seduction is about self improvement, stepping out of your comfort zone, and being a more social person. That's what it's been for me too. But why should we put that stuff under an umbrella of seduction? Seduction is about attracting people, so it depends on the response of others. Studying seduction can encompass self-esteem and self-acceptance, but pursuing these things in the context of seduction colors them with neediness, outcome-dependence, etc. My goals involve expanding my comfort…

I can understand why you thought that my question dehumanizes, but I think you'll find it doesn't when I explain where I'm coming from. I personally would never use the term "HB" - I hate pickup terminology. I think it's weird how guys on r/seduction talk about how they "got the f-close" while failing to mention whether they actually liked the person. My question wasn't about whether you should consider people just another number. It was about whether all these techniques and tactics are just a …

Would you agree with this statement: As long as you have just a bit of seduction knowledge, meeting & seducing women is mostly a numbers game

I didn't read the article closely, but I just wanted to say that your title is poorly written. Here are some alternatives: Canadian pediatricians change their minds; they now recommend circumcision Canadian pediatricians change stance; now leaning towards circumcision Canadian pediatricians no longer oppose circumcision Canadian pediatricians change their minds; now favoring circumcision You see how that's better?

I appreciate your taking the time to write this, and from your other comments it looks like you gained insight into how this post was perceived. As I'm sure you realized by now, you lost most of us with the title of your post, which I originally thought was a joke (I realize you probably were being a bit tongue-in-cheek), but was surprise to see was mostly a serious post. Whether I am being authentic is not dependent on other guys. It is not a comparison. My point wasn't that it's based on other…

Did you read the note at the beginning of the post, about how this was not every guy I met? Yes, I was using hyperbole. I know you don't refer to every guy as a "chode." You do it a lot though. Actually my only response to this is go fuck yourself. Just saying :) Charming, chode.

Look at me. LOOK at me. Stop calling every guy you meet a chode, and stop geeking out on RSD videos - they're making you weird.

For me personally it means guys who aren't expressing themselves authentically--usually because they're stifled by social conditioning, possibly because they don't like themselves, just don't know how, etc I'm sure there are guys who conduct themselves in such a way that would make you, in comparison, seem petty, inauthentic, beta, etc. Fortunately, it's not necessary to make such comparisons because we accept that everyone has their own way of behaving based on personality, social conditioning,…

I don't know about demeaning, but there is a lot of material that just doesn't resonate with me because it stems from a negative mentality. For example: Talking about women like they're objects and all the same Speaking of other men as if they're your enemy Portraying guys who don't know anything about pickup as clueless oafs Saying stupid things like, "Most guys just want to know the magic pickup line." I really don't think most guys want that, and by saying they do, you just seem out of touch.…

Ah, I gotcha now. Yeah, in that case, I agree.

Very insightful. People in this subreddit are advised to go from basement-dwelling, unsocial guys to going out to bars and clubs alone and talking with everyone there. Maybe seeking some connection and support and easing into it is a better option.

It's true. There is this ideal that you should just be able to summon all the strength in the world to have complete social freedom regardless of your circumstances. It's not the most mature approach to increasing one's social status.

I don't think that telling a guy that he's screwed it up and there probably isn't any hope for him in that situation is what he wants to hear, but it's almost always what he needs to hear at that time. How are you qualified to accurately assess a guy and tell him that there isn't any hope for him based on one thing that he's posted? Are you some sort of internet psychologist?

It's true that there's not a lot of empathy in r/seduction. I feel that sometimes the advice here can be a bit limited ("just don't give a fuck and be awesome"), and if that message doesn't speak to you then you're a pussy, just making excuses, etc.

Where did you go? Just curious. I have a vacation coming up myself, though I haven't settled on the destination.

I like how you busted his balls a bit about the neg; it sounds like you have a fun attitude towards this. He may be feeling sheepish about his knowledge of game, and he may be downplaying his knowledge of the community. It's likely that he has consulted more sources than just The Game. If I were ever called out (which I don't would happen), I would say that I'm familiar with The Game and that one show on VH1 with the guy in a fuzzy hat and goggles). I don't think he's deliberating trying to exec…

I'm interested in any insight you might have in terms of applying EFT to pickup/seduction. I use it to try to get rid of any neurotic bullshit. For example, when I catch myself thinking that a girl is too hot for me, I try to tap it out.

That actually seems like a good approach, though I don't get that drunk -- I get sick before I become intoxicated enough to lose my inhibitions.

I read it, but I don't think I took much from it. I heard an interview with the author (perhaps on the Pickup Podcast?), and again, I don't remember much, except that nothing struck me about the author as particularly charismatic. I'm not trying to hate though; I may take another look at the book on my Kindle.

I tried listening to this before and I had to stop for the same reason. I was surprised that she would have this problem considering she is an expert who speaks about how one should best present oneself. Maybe she wasn't accustomed to using that kind of mic or something.

I actually do this shit. Knowing that I can do something about my harmful beliefs helps motivate me to make those beliefs conscious, instead of just letting them dictate my life. Others may say it's pseudoscience, but I think it really helps.

Thanks. Why is "I am not better than anyone else" important? Is it because we often justify not talking to people by saying "he/she isn't good enough for me"?

Gratitude is huge -- so many successful people talk about it being integral to their success (chief among them is Oprah, who talks about her gratitude journal). Practicing gratitude is another priority of mine. I will check out the book -- thanks for the recommendation.

I don't give a fuck I figure I'd say it before you guys do because I know it's a common mantra on Seddit and Reddit in general. I'm personally not a fan of this one; I give a fuck about people, family, etc. (as I expect you all do), so I personally don't jive with it.

No, I wasn't raised by a single mother. I'm not saying that one should be shameful, but just that I feel a little discomfort about it.

Thanks. From watching some of Jeffy's videos, I definitely don't care to be taught by the guy. He tells these stories that are supposed to teach lessons in relation to picking up girls, but he mentions off-hand that he was wasted. It's like, dude, a) you have a substance abuse problem, and b) I don't want to take instruction from a drunk guy. The other guys seem really awesome though, and I would take a bootcamp with any of them.

I've looked-up bootcamp recommendations on Seddit, and most guys are pretty adamant that it's not worth it. But for me (a guy with fairly bad approach anxiety), I'm hoping it can give me some momentum and making me more comfortable approaching. Because I seem to be stalling pretty bad. I can socialize OK, but I often fall back on my bad patterns of feeling awkward and out of place.

Oh cool. Did you take an RSD bootcamp yourself? How was it? I'm thinking of taking one during my upcoming vacation.
