I've been on tons of really cool first dates that didn't involve food, and they were all really personalized to the things that I enjoy. Not all of them even cost money (ie MoMa on a Friday night or ice skating in Bryant Park), but they were all high effort because it was evident the guy listened to my interests and wanted to get to know me as a person more. Stand up comedy Met Opera Ice skating MoMa Picnic along the river (where the dude prepared everything for the picnic) --> my current BF did…

When men go through "very dark time(s)", they hurt others. When women go through dark times, we hurt ourselves. Hmmm

I was incredibly spoiled and privileged as a kid and basically did no chores growing up. But when I went to college, I was able to figure shit out. Like honestly cooking, cleaning, etc is NOT that hard at all. I hate how men always give other shit men a pass ("but they were never taught"). Like bitch no one taught me either but I figured it out on my own. That being said, ladies, I DO NOT do any chores for a man. Women are literally outperforming men in every measurable way (except at the top where there's still tons of misogyny and sexism prevalent). The average dude quite frankly is more of a burden than an asset

You should just go in store and try rings on! I've found that my ring size is pretty consistent throughout different brands. You can also get a ring sizer from amazon or something! Yeah there's income inequality that can attribute to low birth and marriage rates, but quite frankly, marriage is a scam to women. Women take up so much more responsibility when they are married whereas men literally gain a full time assistant. Why the fuck would any woman get married when the risk is so high? I hope there's a women led world-wide boycott

Honestly, any time women become the majority in any field, that field immediately becomes lower paying. I'm a little worried that women will be more educated but still be precluded from social mobility because all of a sudden, other means of excelling outside of college will be more lucrative.

I have a friend in HS whose dad was a stay at home dad who did most chores and pulled his weight around his house. He raised great daughters while the mom pursued her career. This is because men expect women to go 50/50 financially without stepping up to the plate and making everything else equal between the genders. 50/50 DOES NOT WORK BECAUSE FUNDAMENTAL SYSTEMIC INEQUITIES HAVE NOT BEEN ADDRESSED. And this is why libfem is ultimately such a failure. Women don't have any real power under libfem, just perceived power

Men are being pushed out of academia because the playing field is slightly more equal now. I fucking can't with the world coddling mediocre men when they literally still control the majority of the most powerful positions in the world

Yeah I definitely had people in my life that would make snide comments about my perceived successes, whether academically, financially, physically, etc. It's sad when people aren't happy for your success. I don't surround myself with that energy - people can do crazy things because of jealousy - I've had an ex-friend start terrible rumors about me after she found out I did well for myself. I'm really not sure what she was insinuating. Like I also went to an elite school and even match/surpass my boyfriend in education. Honestly. I don't get the point this dude is trying to make. If women masturbate with phallic objects, doesn't that just mean penises are more easily objectified and thus men are sex objects? I am confusion.

Honestly, I don't know where this dude even lives because $2mil in assets/investments a drop in the bucket considering he still has around 600k of college tuition money to pay for. Unless he's banking on his kids taking out loans for college, which will literally set them up for failure considering student loan interest rates. 21 makes more sense to me personally because at least most people will be almost done with college or at least have a few years of real work experience under them rather than be freshly done with high school. But I realize that there would be other unintended consequences of pushing the age of adulthood back. I think increasing the age of adulthood into 21 can prevent creeps from dating young girls and preying on teens, but would not protect young girls from abuse within their families. I mean, …

Yeah...the amount of growth that occurred between the ages of 18-24 was enormous for me. I'm 26 now and am so much more grounded and secure. Honestly, 18yos are still babies, and I'm curious as to why we set that arbitrary age limit when all research shows that adolescence extends into your early 20s
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/07/21 12:43 AM

Unpopular opinion (but backed by research), but I personally feel like the legal age of adulthood should be pushed back to 21 unless there are extraordinary circumstances (ie abuse, legal emancipation). There is no reason why kids should be getting into romantic relationships so young. All the shitty men I dated were when I was young and didn't know myself that well. Spoiler: none of them added to my life in any way and were honestly a complete waste of time. It wasn't until I was 24 that I felt…

There was research conducted on the profile of the average redditor. Average reddit user is 25-34yo, male, and low income. I feel like there's a certain personality profile for someone to become a regular redditor, and then on top of that, the algorithm radicalizes men into the manosphere if they already have misogynistic tendencies. I would not go near a dude who uses reddit on the regular.

Yep, I still sometimes have to stop myself from apologizing for asking for basic respect. And those habits didn't just come from dating a shitty ex boyfriend - society socializes women to feel guilty for asking for anything at all, and it starts young. I remember being 5-6yo and being forced by teachers to apologize for not wanting to sit next to the boy who bullied me. Girls are constantly being taught by society that their discomfort is normal, and that they need to apologize if they demand mo…

Oh yeah I usually just smile and talk to other people or walk away. Nobody got time for that kind of negativity lol. Omg yes. I know I'm great and have a lot to offer, but when I say that out loud, I get people side eyeing me and making sarcastic comments (ie "someone thinks highly of themselves"). Yes. I do. Because I'm great. And it took WORK to get this great. No one can take that away from me, and I'm proud of that. I'm Chinese-American and Chinese women take no shit. Idk why men in the West think Asian women are meek. Chinese women don't pay for shit, expect a house and a car from the husband's family upon marriage, will thoroughly vet not only the prospective husband but also his entire extended family, and will usually take over all finances in the family upon marriage. I didn't realize how done I was with him - the constant gaslighting after he would do something objectively abhorrent to me, the laziness, the complete lack of empathy, the sexual coercion, the pseudointellectualism (he's philosophical because he listened to Jordan Peterson! /s). He even RECORDED our last argument without my consent and sent it to me after…

I was just talking to my mom about this today (we are Chinese-American). China's housing economy is about to pop. There will quite literally soon be more houses on the market than people who are able to fill those houses after the older population dies out. My family members in China are by no means rich, but everyone has multiple properties, and soon, young couples will be inheriting 3-4 properties from their parents. A fifth of China's economy relies on the housing market too. The government i…

The problem with third wave feminism is that it did not solve the fundamental problem of women's work being devalued. That's why men demand 50/50 thinking it's equal - because they literally have zero respect for the emotional/mental labor it takes to run a home. Women are outperforming men in school and obtaining more graduate degrees than men are, but we still have to face discrimination in the work place when it comes to getting considered for raises. We are more likely to leave the workforce…

This is what I don't understand. Affirmative action is supposed to help those who have been systemically oppressed gain opportunities they otherwise would not have. It's supposed to be an equalizing force - for example, a kid growing up in the inner city rough neighborhood is not going to have the same support system or opportunities to excel academically when compared to someone growing up in an affluent suburb. In the US, midwestern white women benefit the most from affirmative action policies…

I don't disagree that many of the things that women do on social media is molded by the male gaze. A lot of our decisions are informed by greater social norms and standards, and unfortunately, by virtue of living in a patriarchy, those social norms cater to men. But then this becomes a "free will vs determinism" problem - can a woman’s decisions ever be divorced from the framework in which she exists? What I can’t stand is that society literally teaches little girls to dream about their wedding days, and then girls grow up to be women who are then shamed for dreaming about their wedding days. The expectation for what men should provide has been getting lower and lower for the past 20-30 years, and there are still men who will whine about any kind of social expectation they are expected to meet. The bar is on the ground and it’s still too high for these dudes.

I was actually thinking of making a post about this but since it came up here - the fact that our society has denigrated liberal arts and humanities I think is at least partly tied to sexism. In med school, there are so many conversations about how to promote healthier lifestyles and habits for our patients. I get incredibly frustrated by these lectures and conversations, not because they aren’t important, but because the onus of change is on the individual when we live in a society where you have to work multiple shifts to make ends meet. You can’t talk about healthy habits without confronting work culture and time poverty in the US.

There have def been improvements on hormonal BC over the years (the concentration of estrogen/progesterone in Enovid was much higher than alternatives now), but the clinical trials from the 60s were not nearly as rigorous as they are now. But hormonal BC options did pass the clinical trial rigors of the time (although kind of unethically because the BC were tested on Puerto Rican women). Something I've observed in my 20so years of life with regards to how men and women approach dating (and life) differently: Men are socialized to have boundaries and enforce them. Men create a non-negotiable line that if crossed, they will pull the plug immediately. End of story. No looking back, no conversation, no excuses. I find that women are a lot more wishy-washy with 1. creating boundaries, and 2. enforcing boundaries. I think a lot of this is how women are socialized. We were raised to be…

I think what really bothers me is that these men see a title like this and their immediate reaction is "Harharhar women incompetent". Never mind the fact that women are disproportionately burdened with childcare and without in person classes/daycare, women are most likely going to have to drop out of the work force to care for their kids. I'm more sad than anything else that regardless of how much we accomplish, some men will literally never respect us.

I went to college in NYC. In my experience, it was one of the worst places to date because women outnumber men. People in NYC are super busy and career-centric, and no one seems to be looking for anything serious. Not to mention, NYC is a transient place for many people so you don't really have a lot of people who can envision permanently staying. Also, I think because of the cost of the city, people tend to delay their adulthoods because they are trying to make ends meet and survive. I love NYC…

While men continually produce sperm throughout their lives (whereas women produce all the eggs she will ever ovulate in utero), the likelihood for de novo mutations increases as males age. Women are more likely to have meiotic defects with increased maternal age.
