She’s having an affair and checked out some time ago. Lawyer up and divorce her.

She was beautiful like I’ve never seen before - but lacked critical thinking. Was to be my downfall, it t’was.

Canadian here. Never. We will fight in the streets, the hills, the sea - we will never become yanks.

Maybe if you get into a different mindset it might help. Think of it like this - you’re a widower. The person you married is now “dead” - the person that is divorcing you is a completely different entity. Like a business. And you have to deal with her like a business - That’s the best advice my lawyer gave me. It was a contract that failed and now you have to deal with her like you would a business relationship. Grey rock. It’s a business transaction from here on in - the person you married does…

This. A relationship is defined by how it ends.

Without deep diving into these sources, could you be so kind as to give a brief summary as to your discoveries?

Ím sorry but I just can’t understand how people - kids, really - can get married so young before their life and brain has matured and expect a different outcome?

I feel this brother. Also, my ex became « enlightened « like yours, down the new age rabbit hole. Same thing happened. Had an EA with a new age douche. I get it.

Could be rewriting the narrative to cover her actions - not yours.

My ex told my daughter on my week off that now she feels free. Mind fuckery with the kids. Spin that narrative!

We’re alike in many ways. It’s like a stress-filled, not what you asked for, full time job. Baby steps.

This is so apropos for the social media brain dead that our society has become.

First for me as well. Not looking forward to it, especially as I know her AP will be at the in-laws with my kids, neatly replacing me.

After 7 months on from DDay,, scouring the various D/infidelity subs, this is by far one of the best threads I’ve ever read.

Oh hell yes - this IG / TikTok / FB crowd sourced everyone’s a psychotherapist inanity - it’s like watching common sense and human decency unravel one bloody pixel at a time.

I feel like I could have written this word for word - your second last paragraph is so undeniably true and stupidly textbook universal. It’s like a new age / midlife crisis playbook for women. You are definitely not alone in this friend.

Yes! This ego searching/ casting, crowd sourcing of every little emotion or rumination blown up on repeat. Pandemic just exploded the whole phenomenon as people went down rabbit holes as they could not deal with circumstances at the time.

Yes!!! This is so f*cking true! I’m going to use this 🙏

Love this - a mix of experiential and anthropological observation. You hit the nail on the head.

I’m so sorry to hear that - and as a non-believer looking in, I’m terribly disappointed they treated you like a pariah. Is not god love and acceptance? Easier said than done I suppose.

They assemble a cheer squad to push it through - I caught wind of that. I took your approach as well but there was always a movement in the background to oust us.

It’s also a way to crowdsource their feelings / motivations about leaving the marriage.

What hit home for me was the mention of the sudden monotone voice after a burst of emotion. Happened to me as well and was shocked by the sudden transition - it’s like the acting is relinquished and this cold, callous automaton takes over and drops bombs with reckless abandon.

You could be me - near exact situation and my first mediation session is tomorrow morning. Wishing you well brother

This is the way. I thought I was on death’s door last year and this was the singular that the mind fixated on. Nothing else matters. People don’t get it - but they will, one way or another.
