This is why I don't tell men I'm bisexual. They'll think I'm automatically down to threesomes or to watch them screw other women. My previous relationships with men and women have all been strictly monogamous. I'm not "tempted" to screw other women the way men might think I am - I don't relate to their perceptions of women at all

I see a lot of women online saying that they don't consider watching porn to be cheating, but they do considering it cheating if their bfs pay for OnlyFans... How is that different? He's watching someone else for his own pleasure.

I don't agree with how he shirks the blame of porn-sick unmotivated men of younger generations onto single mothers. I'd rather he place the blame on absent fathers, where it should rightfully be placed. Men in their twenties and even thirties have no motivation to better themselves, and will very clearly have no motivation to be better and put in the effort when in a relationship with someone. I can want an educated man with a decent job without being a gold-digger.

This is terrifying. These poor women are being misguided by sexism masking itself as a cure from toxicity. Never ever ever let yourself prioritise someone else's desires for your own comfort level!! EUGH

I used to require me time after my ex would lose his shit with me. It would take me days to get comfortable with him but he's come back like everything was normal after an hour?? Then he used to say I was being abusive because I was denying him access to me. Me wanting to be alone was abusive because I knew how much he struggled with feeling abandoned. I used to bend over backwards making myself so accommodating to this man who had zero respect for my mental state. Sjoeee

Men will propose to a woman, marry her, expect her to do all the childrearing and housework and then complain that marriage is rigged to benefit women. Explain that to me

It was overwhelmingly positive! Women were agreeing with her. I scrolled a few times and didn't see any men - not sure if she filtered them out or if they just didn't think they could argue against her facts

Men are not stupid. Saying 'BuT tHeY DoN't KnOw' to not make inappropriate jokes, not vanish for hours on end without explanation, and show their appreciation is another way of saying saying 'men don't know how to respect you unless they want to fuck you'. She's saying a man doesn't know to show their appreciation? Her standards for men are on the ground. Poor girl.

This is my mother to a T, and also more recently my ex boyfriend. Convinced she set me up to allow this kind of treatment from romantic partners because I'm so conditioned to it in my home life. Finally getting out of that relationship was such a struggle, now I've just got to kick out the other gaslighter in my life

Wow. This completely explains why men blame women for what we wear if we're raped. We're objects of the male gaze. We exist to please them and if we're wearing something short we're doing it for them, not ourselves. The way Harley was portrayed in Birds of Prey was still absolutely beautiful but none of it was intended to be consumed by men, which is why so many of them were so irritated by the movie. Feel like such a moron not realising this sooner.

Have you ever told a man that a woman can't give consent if she's drunk or that coerced consent isn't consent, and is in fact rape. They'll genuinely be shocked and straight up deny. "That's not rape." Oh yeah? Why not? Because you don't want to admit that you're part of the problem.

It's so scary. And when we say "Don't teach women what to wear. Teach men not to rape" the most common response is "men know not to rape" Great, but do they know that rape is not just the spooky man in the bushes? No they don't. Teach them that anything except enthusiastic consent is a no, and any no should be left where it is, or else it. is. rape.

Actually never thought of it like this. Always seen men stopping them friends from taking home drunk women but now I better re-evaluate how many times it was because they were more scared if a rape allegation versus actually raping a woman.

This is spot on! My brother so often says "I'm not even going to try date a chick (yikes) until I have a job because they hate broke guys" No, they hate men with no ambition in life. Women date a lot of broke students who they see actively studying and putting effort into their lives. If a man can get invested in his future, it shows he'll be more likely to put effort into a future with you.

Good advice. Wish I'd known this earlier. When you start dropping your boundaries because you figure "Hmm won't be that bad. I don't think I'll HATE it and he might like it" you know you've lost. Then you keep dropping what you feel comfortable doing until the point that this man feels so damn entitled to you and your actions that it's impossible to get out of.

"They treat male contempt of women’s pleasure and autonomy as an unchangeable fact, while treating women’s manoeuvring around it as an imperative – and they reserve their scorn for women who fail to respond to it with an appropriate gutsiness." This is what has been bobbing in my mind for weeks but had been put so eloquently into words.

This post explains the newly divorced overweight men in their 40s who have piles of dishes in their sinks. Their wives got tired of grown-ass children and decided to dump them. "I don't wanna do dishes wahhh" ok fine, know your worth then, 'king.'

I was explaining a situation to a friend about why someone was irritated with me. After I finished explaining I rounded off with: "so yeah, I'll just pop them a message once they calm down" He said: "Don't even bother. Just delete them if they're getting so nitty." I responded: "No they probably just don't see things from my point of view." And he came straight back with: "No, you've just been conditioned to ignore red flags." And if that didn't hit me like a ton of bricks. Glad I have people to…

I hate it how men justify their bachelor nights as their "last night of freedom." Honey if you think marrying me means you're trapped, then I don't want you marrying me. I am not a prison.

He did that a lot actually. Made me chase him or validate him by putting himself down and using me as the figure of blame. "You're so out of my league. I don't deserve you" Instead of stroking this man's ego I should have just told him he was right and left it there. The fact that I called him out for deleting messages, and then didn't even respond to his weird manipulative tactics I attribute to scrolling through FDS for a few weeks.

Friends for 6 years and after I broke up with my ex early in 2020, I spiralling really badly with drinking. Used to get pretty drunk quite often and I ended up hooking up with him a few times. He got insanely possessive and I ended things after a series of messages where he claimed he couldn't trust me. He used to delete messages all the time despite knowing how much it irritated me

I knew i would never be understood by my parents when my dad told me to stop telling people about why my ex and I broke up because the wrong person might hear it, might tell someone else and someone at his job might hear it and we "don't want to stuff up the rest of his life over one night that wasn't even that bad"

I absolutely agree that women should reclaim their sexuality. We shouldn't be shamed for our preferences and choices (ESPECIALLY IF THAT CHOICE IS NO). But 'reclaiming' your 'power' in sex is subjective. And I'll be damned if an article tells me that sleeping with some random man I don't know from a bar of soap is empowering.

That story sounds way too convenient for him to just stymble upon her OF. Why is a grown man stalking his own stepdaughter? That's just unbelievably creepy. And say it was an accident, he had no business telling her mother. Do men ever just mind their own business?

Since seeing all the pictures and statements some of the women here share I've started writing them down in a little book I carry with me to give me motivation. This one is going straight in. Thank you for sharing

"Get it girl! (but only if you want to)" What absolute bullshit is that? Don't make the emphasis and narrative of the title based off women who 'reclaim' their sexuality and are 'strong and woke' for sleeping on the first date, and then just sprinkle some pathetic "oh but only if you want to." That afterthought probably feels so invalidating to women who actually don't want to sleep with men on the first date, yet the article is phrased to make that choice an afterthought. Pick a side and stick …

"It's my nature. It's just biology" so you're saying that you're not an independent person - you're completely at the mercy of your instincts and your hormones. You have no ability to control yourself and are no better than a large hairless ape? Maybe you shouldn't think so highly of yourself then.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/03/21 05:51 AM

Absolutely! Who you're surrounding yourselves with and talking to about your personal life, and whose opinions you're getting on how you're working through your life is so important.

I know what you mean about idolising your potential partners. After growing up watching all the movies I did as kids, reading all the books I did I think there need to be less media aimed towards children where the whole story is a woman being 'saved' by a man. We are not victims and they are not heros.

After the relationship ended I told myself "I won't be intimate with a man until I see he's makes an effort to satisfy me in bed" which in an incredibly watered-down version of what I see in FDS. I will not waste my time on a man who does not view my wants and needs as something valid and enforceable, but rather as a inconvenience. Not just sex, everything. I'm so glad I found this sub

Oooooof that's exactly what he used to do all the time! The gaslighting prevalent in men with these types of jokes is shocking

The fact that too many women know this story far too intimately means we can't ignore how toxic this culture is.

Towards the end of the relationship I actually started drinking heavily every night after uni because I didn't want to mentally be there for any of it. Sex is viewed so horribly by so many men. I'm so sorry you went through that. But the days where men use us as some vapid hole to masturbate into are gone. We'll take back sex as something intimate and loving and enjoyable for both parties.

Thank you for your advice - I was considering therapy for the whole relationship as the entire experience was so toxic, but I didn't realise how shifty my whole experience with sex was until I combed through FDS. Now I think I need to give that more of a front seat and expedite the whole seeking therapy bit.

Initially I thought it was such as huge shame since he was a successful corporate lawyer, and I considered him to be exempt since he wasn't one of those 'lose boys who peaked in high school and went to bars.' He'd read books and drink wine, and all his friends were older It's not about your education or your hobbies. It's the patriarchy and it's rotten to the core.

This is so well-put! I broke up with my N-ex before the pandemic started but still had to live with him the whole year. It made it so much harder to cut ties and create boundaries and get out of this cycle of abuse

Ooooof I felt this one so bad during my last relationship. "Work is stressful" That's your decision to neglect me to prioritize your work, but don't make me feel guilty for asking to be treated like a basic human and use work as a scapegoat. No sir!
