Fair enough.

Well, that's just a random article I found. I believe the ancient Stoics themselves went into greater detail about it. Ultimately it just comes down to shrugging it off, whether that's through a witty retort or simply ignoring the insult altogether. As with most things in life, everything depends on situation/context. There is no black & white, if X happens then do Y. But for redpillers to be satisfied they apparently need an exact formula for every single social interaction.

I'd love to see a link to another place that recommends specific tactics for handling negative comments -- e.g. agree and amplify. The Stoics used a similar method to deflect insults. "You're stupid!" is followed by a laugh and "Yeah, you don't even know the half of it", etc. Basically just laughing/shrugging it off, even agreeing with it, instead of getting defensive.

I don't do anything. I'm just myself. I wear my hair long because I like it that way, but if I thought I looked better with short hair I'd do that instead. I wear makeup because it looks good and makes me feel more confident. I'm generally pleasant and soft-spoken, but that's just my personality. I do not regard femininity as an ideal to strive for (nor masculinity). I don't even think about it. The qualities I try to exemplify are not gendered.

Yeah, but don't you owe it to your partner to first come forward with the problem, to give them a chance to fix it or come to some kind of resolution first? I imagine it would leave a lot of guys feeling confused and hurt if you acted like everything was perfect and awesome all the time, then you just abruptly leave because of a problem/behavior/etc that they didn't even know was bothering you that entire time.

While I generally agree you should give without expecting anything in return, why are you in a relationship if your SO does absolutely nothing for you? What's in it for you?

Funny how everyone gets all up in arms about "nagging" but no one cares about the man's bad behavior. If a fully grown adult man keeps forgetting and/or screwing up his basic tasks & responsibilities, over and over again, maybe he should attempt to improve himself instead of bitching about his wife's nagging.

That's very strange to hear. Self-improvement to me is not about looking attractive or impressing others. It's about doing what you need to do to be a happy, productive, fulfilled person. It shouldn't have anything to do with other's perceptions of you. Of course for many people it does, but relying on others for validation or self-worth is never a good idea.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/15 11:22 PM
1

Assuming what they say is true, the self-improvement aspect of TRP can be monumental for some guys. Losing weight, getting fit, gaining hobbies, making more money, generally being more mature, sober, stoic, and sensible regarding life choices (finance, business, discipline, etc). It's kind of admirable, in a way. The fact that it's mainly for the sake of getting attention and sex from women is dumb, but I guess that's what it takes to motivate some people.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/15 09:58 PM

Is that not the case for men too? Wives are disposable; daughters are loved unconditionally (hopefully, at least). Parents will always love their children more than anyone else.

I'm 28. 4+ times per week is low, yeah, but 2-3 times per week is considerably higher, at 37% and 35%. I wouldn't consider that a low amount of sex, seems pretty reasonable. I do get the sense that we have more sex than others do in general though. We're also at home together the vast majority of the time (work from home) so that gives us more opportunity; I don't doubt the sex would be less frequent if we both had busy schedules outside the home. Still these are just overall stats; it's hard to…

There's no possible way they just met, liked each other, and got together? That never happens in TRP-land, does it? There's always sinister ulterior motives behind literally everything.

OK the easy way to resolve this one is a chat with my wife :) Ah ok, I know who you are. You guys do seem to be pretty happy. Your wife clearly agrees with TRP, so that's great. I would hazard a guess that most women would not, however, so your wife is an outlier. You would frankly be astonished at the number of wives who do not think of it this way. Honestly. I don't doubt that there are plenty like that. Shitty, self-centered people are a dime a dozen. But I don't think it's necessarily more c…

Because, if you do have a very successful BP relationship that is an outlier. I said it was perfectly possible, not that it is common. According to you. But what do you base that on? 1) True but it's in response to the way you guys talk about your wives and treat them. A lot of your 'tactics' come across as cold, cruel, disrespectful, selfish, etc. Reading MRP honestly shocks me, as I couldn't imagine being in that kind of a relationship. It's really hard to read all of that and think "Yep the w…

They don't look at his wrinkled old body and get horny. Thinking about him doesn't get them wet. I'm sure they're excited to screw him, but not because of literal sexual attraction. They're screwing him in spite of his disgusting looks and pretending that it's great because he's hugh hefner.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/15 01:04 AM
2

Then why is it, when I share my "blue pill" experiences as a positive, I always get redpillers replying to me, insisting that no, couldn't possibly be true; it'll crash and burn; you're an outlier; you're probably lying; you don't know what you want; your husband is secretly miserable, just you wait and see!!

Guaranteed this happens purely out of jealousy and making wild assumptions about the guys that women are dating. "That guy has muscles / plays sports / is in a frat, he must be a colossal douchebag even though I don't know him. I thought she wanted a nice guy, what a lying bitch!!" Plus guys can act one way with friends / in social situations, and a totally different way alone with their SO. I didn't know Archwinger's wife was BP. Do they just agree to disagree or has he been lying to her about his real beliefs this entire time? I don't know why someone would go to all that effort, not to mention it's a shitty thing to do. I thought redpillers are discouraged from dating feminist types anyway?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/15 12:50 AM

In the context of a casual hookup / FWB situation, you may not ever get to know the person well enough to detect anything amiss. Though I'm certain the red flags would be impossible to ignore if it progressed to dating or LTR.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/15 11:44 PM

It's hard to say, because I don't know what kind of tactics, if any, OP is using on his plate. Does he dread game her? Neg her? Push past LMR? I don't know any of their interactions so I wouldn't know.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/15 11:35 PM
10

We're not mind readers, though. If a guy is hiding his TRP beliefs and even lies to pretend he's some kind of feminist or that he's into the same stuff we are, how are we supposed to know better? In the context of a casual hookup, I don't even think it matters that much. All it really proves is that some guys are good at lying/manipulating.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/15 10:36 PM
10

If you're not talking about TRP, or ranting about how you hate feminists, or acting overtly controlling/aggressive/etc, I don't see how she would know. To her you're probably just some guy she's hooking up with.

I'm definitely not asexual, my husband and I are pretty much all over each other constantly. The fact that I pay the bills hasn't lessened my attraction to him at all. So I don't know, nothing TRP says ever seems to apply to me. I guess that means I'm a special snowflake.

We're pretty happy with our current situation. He doesn't have a 9-5 but we're working on a side business together that we hope will grow into a large income eventually. Besides that, he does the usual stay-at-home dad thing. It doesn't bother me at all, personally. I can easily pay the bills on my income; if we were struggling though, it would be a different story. If he doesn't say or do something sexist then I have no reason to assume that he is one. If he's hiding it, well, sucks for me I guess. But confident = sexist is not a correlation that makes any sense to me, I like to take people at face value until they prove otherwise.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/15 09:44 PM

There would be no way of knowing whether the guy is a TRPer or not so what does it matter? Should we just assume that all confident fun attractive guys are TRPers? That's highly unlikely.

Same. I can see TRP applying (to an extent) in the college bar scene where everyone is young and immature, dudes just want to get laid, girls like to play games, etc. But that's not the entire spectrum of human sexual/romantic interaction. So much in my life seems to run counter to TRP. My sister turned down a proposal from a millionaire and ended up marrying an average dude who makes 40k/year. My dad married a single mom with 8 (yes 8) kids and he couldn't be happier (admittedly, they are both …

In fact, in my single days I had the opposite problem, guys wanting to get serious after the first date. Same for me. When I was younger, all I wanted to do was date casually and have some fun, yet pretty much every guy I met wanted to immediately settle down and have a serious relationship. It's funny how much my experiences have been the exact opposite of what TRP claims. But like you said, they don't care to hear from our perspective. So they don't count because they're controversial? I'm no fan of Ayn Rand's philosophy or her writing, but she was incredibly influential. Just because a woman wrote it doesn't mean feminists have to automatically like it. But you can't deny the impact she's had on philosophy & politics, which to me is admirable even if I disagree with her views. Opinions are subjective, dude. It's ok to prefer certain shows or comedians over others but don't pretend like your opinion is fact. I love Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, personally I think 30 Rock is one of the funniest shows ever made. I agree that SNL isn't great though. Regardless of your personal taste, the comedians Wolf mentioned are popular, well liked and well respected.

So you're saying if a guy was sleeping around all throughout his 20's with tons of women he can suddenly have the ability to stick to one woman and never sleep with anyone else when he marries at 30?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/03/15 04:59 PM
1

Short answer: When a woman does a thing, it's bad. When a man does a thing, it's good. You can replace "thing" with just about anything: be a single parent, have a career, get an education, have casual sex, file for divorce, travel, own a dog, manipulate their partner, abuse their partner, cheat, leave their partner for someone better, etc.

I think I'd be ok with casually dating or plating a TRPer, assuming he's attractive, fun, etc. I tentatively believe most TRPers are not as unpleasant IRL as they appear online. But a serious long-term relationship? Er... I don't think that's gonna work. I couldn't be with someone who doesn't respect me or value my opinion, or who can't open up emotionally. No thanks. Uh... what? No, it's not wrong, selfish or cruel to refuse the threesome. Why would you think that? Who defended it and why? That's ridiculous. If the husband's not cool with it, it's his right to say no and his wife should respect that.

Eh, if you say so. I haven't experienced much of that, personally. It's not true for me and doesn't appear to be true of most women I know. Society does pressure women to find someone and settle down more than it does men, which may contribute to what you see happening. Personally I've never dated a man for status or validation or to make other girls jealous. I'm wondering about the other side of the coin. What do men have to offer women besides sex as well? Women can get friendship and emotional support from close friends and family, they can support themselves financially, hell they can even go to a sperm bank to have a baby. What do men specifically provide that they can't get elsewhere?

One bluepill relationship? BPers are constantly in here talking about their successful relationships. We always get brushed off, it gets hamstered away (oh no, you're not really happy, your partner is miserable, just you wait and see!) Just as you have observed 'trends' in society, so have we. You guys have a seriously skewed perception of "blue pill" relationships. What you describe as blue pill & feminist, I'd describe as very unhealthy, even abusive. Like a red pill relationship only with the genders flipped. What exactly IS marriage to you? It's not a life-long hookup with the best looking hottie at the club. Valuing other attributes doesn't mean you stop valuing physical attraction entirely. And so what if physical attraction is devalued slightly anyway? It really isn't the end all be all of relationships. Important, yes. That's not my quote. /u/exit_sandman said that. Oops, sorry about that. You guess you agree with? Either you agree or don't agree. Surely you of all people know what you think. What I think is that women don't need men to do those jobs for them. Men just so happen to do them, which is convenient, but not absolutely necessary. I don't think women are intimidate by burly men they just aren't interested in doing backbreaking work on things. As I mentioned, I consider working in a nursing home to be…

That's pretty much what you said, though. here you quite often have the case that women need men more because it's by and large men can provide them with safety; or with goods they don't produce on their own (yes, even if you work and earn your own money, the guys who produced the stuff you're consuming or relying on in your everyday life are usually male). What you really mean is that, women don't absolutely NEED men to do those things, but the fact that they do, is convenient for women. Which …

No advice whatsoever from either parent. No sex talk either. When I was 18 or so, my mom urged me to get on birth control and avoid getting pregnant. That's about it. Looking back, my parents were dumb and oblivious, and seemingly so wrapped up in their own affairs that they didn't really pay any attention to me at all or care about what I was doing. I'm married now so I don't really get advice. My dad is kinda racist and assumed my husband must be an abusive, controlling womanizer because he's …

You implied that women NEED men around to do those jobs. I'm arguing that if there were no men, women would fulfill those positions just fine. It's true that women don't do a lot of those jobs now, but it's not because they can't. Most nurses are women, but not because men can't do it. I'd guess that most men avoid that career because of the stigma. Same for women doing "manly jobs". I imagine it would be hard to join a profession that seems like just a boy's club. It's probably harder to get hi…

So you seem to be saying, women know there's a chance a man might be a rapist/cheater/whatever, but she won't say it out loud, she will simply take precautions, while still trying to develop good rapport/etc? Well yeah. Saying straight up "I think you're a pig and you just want me for sex" probably isn't the brightest idea. Thanks for the links. You're right, I prefer being given the benefit of the doubt. Could you give some examples of AMALT? Because I disagree with that as well. Morbid curiosity, I guess. I generally only read TRP stuff that is linked to from TBP. I very rarely pull it up and read it on its own. /r/PurplePillDebate19/12/14 10:52 PM

This is not true all across the board. Most men value their wives/girlfriends for more than the wet hole between their legs. When I fuck my husband I'm not fucking his net worth, social standing, intelligence, values, etc. I'm fucking his nice dick and admiring his hot body. Same thing. In a purely sexual context, those things don't matter for me either.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/14 10:50 PM

This is sadly true. I don't have super high standards, but they're higher than my husband's for sure. Even though he takes on more of the "homemaker" role, I choose to do (or re-do) certain things myself because I hate the way he does them. He's a tidier person than I am in general, but the WAY he cleans and does other things just... doesn't work for me, lol. I don't resent him for it though, he works very hard and does his best, he can just be a little clueless lol.

When my kids are home all day, I barely have the time to clean, let alone sit around and practice my hobbies. Perhaps a more organized person could manage it better, lol. But I would not call homemaking a 'cushy' job with lots of sitting around if there are multiple kids under 5 to look after. Not trying to say it's the hardest job ever but it definitely can be hard work.

Does him hanging out around the house doing domestic stuff all day make you resent him and see him as a bitch? I'm guessing the answer is no, but all the redpillers here insist otherwise. Or does it somehow not count because he's retired? I'm also the breadwinner, and my husband does a lot more domestic/"housewife" duties. No resentment, in fact I like the setup we have. Of course, I must be lying to myself and I'm probably gonna cheat on him real soon.

That's basically what I meant by settling. They will lower their standards if it means getting sex. Even if the woman is far from the type they ideally want. On the other hand most women won't just sleep with any guy because he's there. They'll happily go home to their vibrator instead if there are no guys around who meets her standard. the difference being women are perfectly cool to hold out for only the top echelon of men, where as men are thirsty for any decent woman who's chill, and down for it. Women hold out for the men they find attractive and sexually appealing enough to want to have sex with. Whereas some men want sex so badly they will settle for almost any woman who meets a bare minimum of attractiveness. I wouldn't say women are only looking for the "upper echelon" though.

The only time I've ever discussed partner counts is with my girlfriends. I can't recall it ever being brought up by any guy, ever. I didn't get the chance to rack up a high count because I settled down pretty early (by 21). But if I had remained single, I'd probably have a high count by now because I enjoy sex. Thank you for your response! I understand what you're saying. I even agree with you to an extent that some women can be be really shitty, and it's not judged as harshly as it might be with a man. 'Acting like an arrogant ass' is what TRP alphas are supposed to act like. So an unattractive man just becomes more unattractive by adopting those qualities (IMO-- I know you guys will argue otherwise). Generally it seems like the more attractive you are, the more you can get away with asshole behavior, because people tend to excuse away flaws and bad behavior from someone who is exceptionally hot.

I think it's a good idea to make yourself as sexually available as you reasonably can. I personally don't turn down my husband very often. I almost always get into it after a few minutes, even if I wasn't in the mood at all initially. That being said, his desire for sex never automatically trumps my desire for sleep, or to watch my favorite TV show, or to simply not do it. Fair enough. Perhaps you can sympathize with my confusion, then. It's reasonable to assume both groups want similar things since they both fall under the red pill banner. They appear to be different sides to the same coin. Plus there are plenty of red pill men who are married or in LTRs, or express a desire to be. It has nothing to do with submissiveness. The double standard is that the man's sexual satisfaction is considered to be of the utmost importance, and it's his SO's obligation to always meet his sexual needs. But when HER needs aren't being met, the advice basically amounts to "oh well".

Red Pill-ers believe that once they are married to a woman, she has no right to deny the man sex, whenever he wants. The common thought behind their logic is, “Men are the captains of the ship” and “she’s never too tired for sex” and other blindly misogynistic ideals. I'd like to add to this. Right, of course TRP's solution is for the guy to become an abusive asshole himself so he can get some poontang, I mean who cares if the girlfriend is traumatized by past experiences and will continue to feel like total shit about it as long as the dude gets his dick wet? They need to end it, and the girlfriend needs therapy to work on her issues.

Have you tried being masculine and not a lazy turd ignoring her, refusing to communicate, treating her like a child, flirting with other women, closing yourself off emotionally and becoming a cold aloof bastard who doesn't take her concerns seriously? thanks TRP, you saved my marriage! Nobody does it - no man with any friggin pride anyways. I'm telling you how men think. This is how we are. If you think this makes us shitlords, then we're all shitlords - every last one of us. There is a reason for that. It's because stripped of all the bullshit men know what fucking time it is. You can tell me stories all day long about how …

You can deny it all you want - that you aren't interested in material possessions - or that you don't mind pulling the lion's share of the providing - or that you understand and deal with the fact that your husband has shortcomings and you're OK with that... My husband has shortcomings like literally everyone else on the planet. No man is perfect. Look around at the people you know who are married and the wife is older than 35.... How many happy marriages are there where all of the above mention…

I refuse to enter a relationship where I don't have any say. I refuse to enter a relationship where I only have a little say. Same for me, which is why I could never be a RPW. I have no desire to relinquish control of my life to another person. I don't see why I'm expected to simply because I have a vagina. If you want to be with me, then whatever I say goes. If you cut your husband's balls off (he's at work right now supporting you and your child I assume?) because you think you need to rule the roost - your marriage is going to be shit. I'm guessing "cutting your husband's balls off" = being assertive, not being a doormat, making your opinions known, and calling him out on his shit when necessary. This is not bad. TRP encourages men to do this, but when women do it, it makes them bad wives and not LTR material. Right. Don't get me wrong. I pretty m…

Yes, I know. I was responding to the assertion that daycare is somehow a "luxury". For most parents, it's an absolute necessity. I pay $560 a month for PART-TIME daycare. It's not a fancy expensive one either. When kids get older, most will still need after-school care which costs a lot as well. My son turns 7 in a few months and I wouldn't dream of leaving him home alone. Maybe for 20 minutes to go grab something from the store, but for a full 8 hour work day? HELL NO. I love most of the women on Game of Thrones. They are well-written, and have as much intelligence, strength and cunning as the men, if not more. Daenarys, Arya, Catelyn, Margaery, Brienne of Tarth, and even Sansa. She's now starting to mature and learning how to play "the game" (that last scene with her walking down the stairs-- BADASS.) I also love Scully from X-files, Liz Lemon on 30 Rock, and Leslie Knope on Parks and Rec.

This is a wild exaggeration and misrepresentation of trp. Really? I disagree with the premise that prostitution is paid rape (except in cases where she is literally being forced by a pimp, or out of her mind on drugs, etc). Prostitution is a consensual act between two adults. The addition of a monetary payment does not automatically make it rape. To say she is being forced due to her economic situation doesn't make a whole lot of sense either. Most people don't want to work at McDonalds but it may be the only option they have. Stop putting dick on a pedestal. Ha, this is so true. TRP removed the pussy from the pedestal and replaced it with a dick. Anything that men do is good. Even the most heinous behavior, rape, abuse, pedophilia, can be excused away with "reasons". Men always have good reasons for the things they do. There have been times where it was fairly "meh" but for the most part it's been awesome, and it keeps getting better. Well, when you are constantly pregnant, nursing, and caring for small children, it's quite difficult to do anything else. Men are independent from the physical burden of children, therefore they have more freedom to do as they please. Honestly I don't really know how or why patriarchy came into existence. Presumably due to women being less physically strong and more dependent on men during pregnancy & early child rearing, etc, which more easily put men into positions of power and leadership, which as we all know, can be abused. Once the Abrahamic religions took off, there became a very good reason to keep females subjugated, because God himself declared that it should be that way. But it's all interconnected. If being a single mother is a crime, then deadbeat dads are the perpetrators in many cases. Ladies do tend to lose their residual reproductive value (and their looks) as they age. So? Men aren't entitled to fuck and impregnate the youngest, tightest virgin girls just because they exist. Why did Kevin Spacey decide not to fuck the hot virgin teen girl at the end of American Beauty (even though she wanted him to)? I disagree though, I think most men would prefer a woman who is more or less on their same level, at least when it comes to LTRs and marriage. but then again we disagree on everything, hah. Th…

Um... wow. Okay. Not sure how to respond to this honestly. Locating: Go out into the world and find someone seemingly attainable & attractive woman. Many times people meet by chance; my husband was my coworker initially. Planning: Lays the groundwork by thinking of things to say to you, and probing your dreams, desires, blah blah blah... Who says he lays the groundwork alone? I was interested in him too. I ALSO thought of things to say to him, and I also probed his desires, blah blah all that st…

It's a woman's fantasy to be the object of desire of some superior (as the woman perceives it as such), dominant alpha male. (e.g. Twilight Series, 50 Shades of Gray) Dominance does play a role, but I think another big part of this is, not necessarily that the man is superior to her, but that he's super awesome and rich and ridiculously handsome, yet he still falls for the average, plain girl and loves her for who she is. Every woman, especially those who might be on the uglier/heavier side, dre…

I disagree. It is basically saying "women act crazy as shit" but in nicer terms. There doesn't seem to be any implied "higher motive". If so, no one can figure out what it is, not even women themselves really, which makes it meaningless. Women definitely didnt invent the notion of the 'feminine mystique'. It is a purely male construct stemming from their lack of understanding about women combined with pedestalizing them. Some may benefit from perpetuating it I guess, but overall all it does it k…

It's not sexist to want to be attractive to women. What's sexist is implying that there is some great mystery to women, that they are strange foreign beings whose motives and desires are impossible to comprehend. It 'otherizes' women, and it's stupid. Women want different things, just as men do. Overall, most women do like confidence, assertiveness, etc., like TRP says. But if that's the case, then there really isn't much of a mystery.

"What do women want" is a cultural meme that stems out of sexism, IMO. the notion that women are strange mysterious creatures that are impossible to understand instead of just regular people. plus it's a misnomer because there is no "women", we're all individuals. I'd argue that women don't want to be happy at all, but I don't want to open that can of worms. I know you want to avoid it but I'm honestly kinda curious what brought you to this conclusion.

It wasn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but it is important to me that my partner acknowledges when I feel hurt or slighted, and listens to me when I bring up issues. Blowing it off completely makes me feel like he just doesn't give a shit at all about how I feel, which sucks. As I said, he doesnt have to grovel and bring me flowers, just a simple genuine "Sorry, I didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable" is good enough. All right, I can dig that. But really what you're saying then, is that aggressive = confident and assertive. In which case, you should just use those words. Or not, I guess, it doesn't really matter. But a guy who is "aggressively" pursuing or hitting on a woman gives me a mental image of kinda a douchey guy who won't take no for an answer and won't back off. Never said that he was. But I question what role "aggression" plays in day to day life, and why it's necessary or a good thing. Aggressive implies violent and angry. What role does aggression play in a relationship? Isn't being violent and angry "breaking frame" and something you should avoid? Some women might view aggressive men who will punch out another guy at the drop of a hat sexy. Most, including myself, view it as childish, stupid and oafish.

I personally get very offended when people assume things about me, make judgments about my character, presume to know what I want or don't want (better than I do, even), based on generalizations and physical attributes. No, it's OK because being submissive and allowing our husbands to make every single decision for us is what we secretly want. We don't want responsibility or agency in our lives. That last quote pretty much illustrates what I'm talking about. Here are a few more... Women are not bound by honour - it is a male abstraction. She will always put herself before you. Women don't love us in the way we love them, they love differently and thus expecting from her what she expects from you will doom you to failure. Men are humanity's true romantics (sacrificial love - male is more intense than utilitarian love - female) hence man's deeper mourning for lost lovers of days gone by. …

The context of the brake up is irrelevant as far as I'm concerned. They could have broken up for X/Y/Z , its the "i love him, but I'm not in love with him" that reeks of bullshit. I've never heard a guy friend say anything remotely close to that. Really, what the fuck does that mean anyway? I think this is just a way of saying "I feel affection for him but the spark/chemistry just isn't there enough for a sexual/romantic relationship". Which is a good reason to breakup IMO. I really don't see wh…

It began after I told him that I felt that he rarely expressed that he loved me, he told me that he could only express those feelings after we'd had sex, when he was feeling them. WHAT? Wow. I can't believe you stayed with him after this. I'm glad he was open-minded enough to change. I find that whenever my husband does anything that could be interpreted as "Dread Game" (unintentionally -- he has no idea about RP) -- stuff like the silent treatment, or back-handed compliments, or generally actin…

Nice Guys (tm) only befriend a girl and do nice things for her because they want to hook up with her. They think that if they give her company, let her cry on their shoulder, do kind favors for her, that eventually she will reward them with sex. Now, I don't think Nice Guys want to be used either. Flip the situation around a bit, let's say that people make friends with a guy, not because they genuinely like him, but because he has a sweet beach house and they hope that if they're nice enough to …

Seriously? Well, MOST people are not masochists, therefore it's safe to assume that someone you meet is not a masochist unless they tell you otherwise.

Nope. Genuinely nice people are nice for its own sake, without asking anything in return. Nice Guys (tm) feel entitled to some kind of reward for being "nice". If they're only being "nice" because they hope to get sex or something else out of it, then they're not being nice at all, they're just being manipulative.

What does treat women as people mean? How do you NOT treat women as people? What is so wrong with wanting to be dominant? To be alpha? Treat them as you would wish to be treated? to acknowledge that they have feelings, thoughts, and ideas that are JUST as legitimate as your own. Basically, to have empathy. To not treat them like a child. To respect them.

the TRP, PUA inspired, Dark Triad emulating, manipulative power play will be the way to win. The way to win what?

Patriarchy is the reason behind most of the injustices that MRAs are concerned about. The reason why men often face discrimination in family law is DUE to sexism and antiquated patriarchal ideas and gender roles. Women are deemed better caregivers because it's their "natural role" to birth & care for children, so it follows that they get awarded custody more often, sometimes unfairly. Men's Rights Activists don't actually do anything, though. All they do is point fingers and blame feminism rathe…

Well I don't really know what you want me to say. You're debating with an individual person who has her own views. I call myself a feminist because I am one, but I don't have to rigidly adhere to every single thing feminist organizations do or say, as if it's some kind of religion. In fact I disagree with a lot of feminist positions especially regarding sex, prostitution and pornography. Any feminists or feminist organizations who are working to actively disenfranchise men, spread misandry or tr…

I don't know enough about that particular law to really comment. I will look into it. Though I can see how a first aggressor policy might be bad for women. If a woman initiates the violence with a slap or a punch, and gets a massive blow in return, I do think the man should be charged as well if he caused a lot more injury than she did. Again, I don't know enough about this particular law so I will refrain from commenting more. Regardless, I don't really see feminism as a monolith, so I personal…

I think the proper answer here isn't that "women should just stop crying and bottle up their emotions like a man does!" But rather, that men should be allowed to cry, too. A man's friends SHOULD hug him and pat his back (plenty of guys will comfort each other in moments of weakness, so I'm not sure where you're getting this idea that dudes are all poker-faced stoics...) Adults should keep their emotions in check, but in cases of a sudden family death or the like, it's understandable that a perso…

Chances are, you're a lot physically stronger than your ex, therefore there is more potential for you to cause harm and injury to her and her friends than vice versa. But even if she IS very strong and causes severe damage/injury, likely her sentence will be shorter not because of "feminism" but because of the sexist notion that all women are weak and men can never be the victims because men are strong, etc. Generally it's a lot easier for men to bully women around, if only due to physical intim…

Yeah, I figured you weren't serious- just reminding you that this isn't TBP, it's more of a meeting of the moderates (with the occasional troll from either side) so hyperbole isn't necessary. I wasn't trying to be funny or silly, I was taking what you said and turning it around to try to prove a point. A bit hyperbolic, sure, I will turn it down next time. As for the rest of your post, I basically agree. The only thing I'm asserting is that, when dealing with an individual person, it is only fai…

No one is unrapeable. But anyways. I don't believe any of the stuff that I just wrote. the point is that those are some stereotypes about men. It's not hard to see why some people might assume those things. If a woman's been cheated on a lot, or abused or raped, she might think that. It doesn't make it true. Nor does it make it true that most women just have sex to get free stuff just because you heard your co-workers talk about it.

OK then, all men are cheaters, all they care about is sex and they always think with their penis. They act like wild apes who can't control their aggression and will most likely hit, rape or even kill you if they get angry enough. if I wear a short skirt around them they'll probably try to rape me because they can't control their raging boners.

Yeah, we are all guilty of judging others, it's a pretty human thing to do and it happens automatically sometimes. But everyone should, to the best of their ability, try to use rational thought to temper their kneejerk reactions. If you're instantly assuming things about a complete stranger on the internet based on nothing except the fact that she's female, then you're not really being logical or reasonable, you're just generalizing and stereotyping based on your pre-conceived notions.

You're the one making assumptions, though. You're asserting that women have sex for all kinds of reasons besides simple pleasure. What kind of evidence do you have to back that up? and what evidence do you have to prove that that's the case here?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/14 01:58 PM

And you're in no position to judge this other woman either. You're assuming things about her just because she's female.

Why is it so hard to believe that a woman might fuck dudes because she finds it enjoyable? Why is there always some kind of "ulterior motive"? No she doesn't enjoy fucking and orgasms, she must be doing it for attention or gifts or ... something? In my 27 years I honestly can't think of any time I fucked a dude for any other reason than... I was horny and wanted to fuck.

Whores exchange sex for money. If this happened, which the OP says it didn't, then presumably it occurred for pleasure instead of money. Therefore she is not a whore.

That's good. I guess it's a relationship dynamic that I'm unfamiliar with. I've never thought of a bf/husband/romantic interest as someone that I look UP to, but as someone that I share my life with, someone who is pretty much on an equal level with me, not better or worse. That is why the RP theory proves interesting to me. My immediate knee-jerk reaction is to be offended, honestly. And I still do get offended sometimes. But I suppose I'm here asking about it because I'm just trying to wrap my…

It's always been good, and it's been getting better and better as time goes on. He's quite dominant in bed, which I like. We really seem to know each other's bodies so pleasing each other comes very easily.

Thank you for this. I'm certain my husband definitely would respond positively if I started doing more around here. This sub has kinda inspired me to do so. I sometimes feel angry with him because I feel like he doesn't do enough, but when I stop to think, he really does, just not in ways that I notice. I get mad because it's kind of an unspoken rule that his job is to clean the kitty litter. He neglects it for days and it gets nasty and smelly. But he also takes our kids out to the park every d…

Thanks. Yeah, I think my hub tends to be very Alpha when he's single and when he's around his guy friends. But he's admitted to me that in a relationship, his personality changes and he becomes a lot more Beta (he doesn't use those terms but he means the same).

Thank you. Sorry, I may be guilty of strawmaning or exaggerating certain things I've read here. What I meant by 'bully' could be summed up as authoritative, making decisions seemingly without regard for my feelings or opinions. He tended to just do things his own way without consulting me, and being unapologetic or not even noticing that he was doing it. It made me feel like a doormat who he didn't respect. After I became more assertive, he seemed to respect me a lot more. From a lot of RP stuff…
