These things can be said vice versa too. But, it's good not to dwell too much on relationships. It's like what Mary Schmich wrote: Maybe you’ll marry, maybe you won’t. Maybe you’ll have children, maybe you won’t. Maybe you’ll divorce at 40, maybe you’ll dance the funky chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary. Whatever you do, don’t congratulate yourself too much, or berate yourself either. Your choices are half chance. So are everybody else’s.

I'd much rather they did it in the vetting stage than realized years later that they are embarrassed to introduce their SO to their friends, family, and coworkers. Are you trying to argue that women do this more than men? I've really never encountered it in either sex. Obviously if you go after superficial people, you win superficial prizes. I think the social media thing of putting a picture of a couple up is sort of the 'ring the bell' mentality. In other words, to declare that it's a relation…

For romantic or eros love i agree. I think stoge, what parents feel for their kids or you for your siblings, is mostly unconditional.

It's a red flag for me when dates brag about their new house or car. I also prefer women who don't wear make up, but i have made exceptions.

Modernity ended around the beginning of WW2. Colloquially people use modern to mean contemporary.

No there is no 100% method to get only affirmatives. A lot of these answers are nos and do not accuse you of being creepy, except #2, which is. To everyone in the comments saying "just be attractive", it seems like projection. If the only reason you are talking to someone is because you find them attractive, it's a turn off. Do you want people to only value you because you are hot? We have little control over our attractiveness. At least say you like their sense of style or their perfume or some…

More men marry up than women. https://www.cnn.com/2017/11/15/health/american-men-marrying-up-partner/index.html Hypergamy is a different issue than the number of people marrying in general.

don't forget that they are not attracted to any woman more educated or earning a higher wage then themselves. More men need to marry up, and by discounting these women they are doomed.

Everyone probably should. There is a known phenomena of hobosexual men. More men are marrying up these days than the reverse, so it's important for women look out for it.

we're bleeders now, since we can't call ourselves women when we talk about period products. I was complaining about it the other day and someone thought i was complaining about using bleeders as a derogatory word for people with hemophilia, which it was.

There isn't a separate line for alcohol, so maybe that is included. I certainly think it's a lot of prepackaged foods to make kids' lunches or money for school lunches. And going out to lunch for adults a couple times a week at work.

Pre-school is generally like 3 or 4 hours long, so they also need daycare. I spend 100 a week on groceries on myself, so 65 a day for four people isn't far off. I go out once a week, so that would make up the difference.

Yeah. I did explain this to some younger women. It's such a pet peeve of mine when people write you in facebook, rather than a traditional email with work related tasks. It's so unoriginal too. A 'facebook' was like a yearbook for a university with photos and names of freshmen. It was definitely used so that men could be pervy and look up or attempt to content women they liked.

Yeah, almost every time i've talked long enough to a homeless man about their story, i suspect they abused their partner. I used to volunteer at a day shelter, and it's always 95%+ men. This is why men don't need dedicated shelters, because they are not in the supreme minority like women.

Reminds me of the last time i saw one of my exs. We'd been broken up for a while, but he wanted to see me because he was leaving town, as was i (but it was a brief trip). I have pretty good success rates with approaching. The thing is many men do it in a creepy way. You kind of answered your own question here. First you say the humor gap is irrelevant, but by the end you say it's important who it is directed at. I don't use twitter, but I am mainly in agreement with what Ezra Klein wrote about it. It's poor writing to make ambiguous slogans, but it happens. I do habitually take things too literally, sometimes accidentally and sometimes intentionally. So you're right at first i might interpret it negatively. But, it's not something i need to get upset over. …

That's not privilege. Men have the ability to discuss things too, and in more than just their safe spaces that women have worked to create. Attractiveness is only a privilege for some. There are so many women who develop eating disorders to get away from the male gaze. Kids do get more attention at school if they are attractive, no matter their sex, but copious amounts of attention can also be a bad thing. I don't think Heard is getting away with domestic violence. Have you seen a sitcom in the last decade? It's almost always the ugly dumb man paired with a good looking intelligent woman. It's called the "Ugly Guy, Hot Wife" trope. If people are looking at television to gauge appropriate relationships, it will make average men look better to women and make men believe they deserve wonderful women.

I'm not sure if you are doing this or not. One of my sisters she just ignores questions. My mom and i asked and it's cuz she assumes we know the answer. I mean i get it she has kids. She sees it and then one of them starts screaming. When you get back to your phone, it's no longer new. But like we ask what her ETA is and no response...

That sucks. I miss OLD back, maybe 15 years ago when you'd talk for 15-20mins. It says a lot more than texting for two days. I just hate this new culture of... i don't need to keep my commitments. People make dates, never give a place or exact time. Then no one texts and i'm like okay, whatever. Everything is a tentative plan... and with my anxiety i hate not knowing where i am going before leaving my apartment.

If a guy doesn't reply to a message in more than a day I'd assume he's not interested. Two days and it's better to forget and move on. That has been my experience. Not worth it. yeah basically. I mean maybe i'll send a follow up in a week if i am bored. Certainly not update social media about it like this dude. What's his point? to prove he had a woman text him at some point, who cares... if i see people with big social media presences like this it really turns me off to dating them. Like, you k…

Sure. Good riddance. My experience is that most men come off as insecure attachment types. I leave my phone elsewhere. The fact that men's pockets fit their phones mean they are more likely to have it one them. Meanwhile it's in a bag for women, and i just rather leave it in my office than take it to class with me and have to silence it and all that. If you don't believe someone's excuse, that's a terrible way to start a relationship. Take people at their word, is my motto. edit: the other comme…

Oh dear, i must be in the 95th percentile! /s It's a double standard. Men who are promiscuous are seen as studs and women are deemed sluts. That in a nutshell is how most societies view promiscuity. It's more like a non choice. Women typically are not the pursuers. You've never drank or eaten too much because someone kept offering and you felt obligated to say yes? Men pester women into finally saying okay. I think some of them are into it. Women have to say no multiple times before men give up.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/20 02:14 PM
5

this is true for both, but under different circumstances. Men fly into a blind rage and beat someone up. Sex isn't as risky for men and typically the one pursuing it. Women act indifferently. Maybe they realize they could have said no without much risk of bodily harm later. You've never drank or eaten too much because someone kept offering and you felt obligated to say yes?

they know how to make their partner come. That's way more important than specific body parts. You get a lot of confidence from making your partner orgasm a lot.

Hmm. interesting comparison and points for quoting Baudrillard. I doubt it's a hard and fast division between the sexes, plenty of men in my feed post a lot. Tend to be the ones more talking about mental health and domestic violence, maybe trying to be victim points. Anyway, that's just my friend group. And it's 10-20 years older than yours.

Well, i agree with you, that it is a symptom. Probably like playing too many video games, it's escapism for real life. I think you should keep up practicing and improving your social skills tho.

Definitely could be variety in the majors of students and their beliefs of physical attractiveness. People in mine are very attractive, imho. Psych students tend to be more neurotic (isn't that why many of them choose it? and/or it exacerbates their issues). Also, probably more 'insight' from psych today, but smarter people are more attractive, and psych majors are not known for their intelligence. Anyway, this is the easiest and convenient way to do any research: pole students in class; it sati…

Honestly, i wouldn't accept it from a potential partner. I was on a date and the guy explained how his ex was lingering with him till she found another lover to live with. It's so sad that women like this are in such dire financial woes that they are basically giving sex to earn rent. I can't imagine all the extra pressure to get into a relationship when you your housing depends on it. On the other hand, my mom's ex helped her thru college, and my father would gripe that the she never paid him b…

*simply Men aren't stupider; they're simply poorer at spelling. Men commit more violence, of course some women do too. It's some like 80% of violent offenders are men. he who is capable of using violence to force his will upon others, but chooses not to, because it is the right thing to do. It doesn't matter if men act out in anyway, the threat of violence remains.

Your description of fit women seems to be slim/average. Fit to me means muscle definition. There is a reason ideal bmi for a man is up at 24 and women down at 19-20. Society wants slim women that can't defend themselves.

it's also not worth it for women. Except, if it's a sole-breadwinner, for health care, or legal status. Married women live shorter statistically, tho this is most likely from child birth.

well online is a different thing. twoxchromosomes is maybe half sexual assault stories and half white knighting. They're both looking for sympathy and karma, but many just want an anonymous place to tell their story. Irl tho, it's my male friends who tell me, and repeatedly tell me. I don't know if they think it's sexy or something. I kind of just assume any woman i know was likely assaulted or harassed at various points in time, and we don't talk about it. Like all crime statistics, it's difficult to know the numbers. Are false rape allegations brushed to the side? I'm sure some are and some aren't. I think we have different definitions. I mean things like slacks and a nice sweater. I've read that men target lower social classes than their own, but this mainly applies to non-acquaintances. I have been catcalled a little when wearing pearls or been thrown stones at while wearing a business suit, so this isn't universal.

It's not most men, it's that the men who do it, do it over and over again, so it affects most women. I usually dress conservatively enough and stay in after dark enough for it not to happen too frequently. I keep my hands in my pockets, make confident eye contact, and do not use headphones. The verbal shit just rolls off my back, and i am smart enough to make a decent comeback or know when a guy is lying. Maybe when men are discussing what they'd do to me, within my ear shot, is worse. Never too late, but i've tricked myself into giving men second chances too many times. Most likely the reasons you rejected him have not changed, but you are allowed to change your standards. Personally, i have no problem taking control in relationships, tho i prefer egalitarian ones. Kind of sounds like he fuckzoned you, ie. he'd only be a friend to get in your pants. You probably don't need to wait, you could send him a text or something, december is a long way off.

I'm not sure if you want answers from women, but the first one who comes to mind is Jane Addams. I read her book about youth and the city, she was amazingly empathetic! She fought for suffrage so maybe that discounts her for being a feminist, but i think her outreach with youth in chicago and other charitable qualities are positive feminine traits.

OP is correct. I don't trust men to put on condoms. I buy them myself, put them on myself. So many have no clue you need to leave a reserve for the sperm! Honestly, they buy the cheapest condoms that are designed by men. These condoms (specifically ones with spermicide) increased STI rates for women, and add benzocaine (a numbing agent).
