Love this, such a good reminder. It’s so easy to let men manage our expectations down, and we accept more shit and expect less over time, until we are literally just appliances for them to use, abuse, and toss aside like rubbish. We need to constantly remember who the fuck we are, and demand respect, and if we don’t get it - walk.

Saw a documentary from China about "Leftover Women" - basically women who choose to pursue their career and education instead of settling down young, will be called "Leftover Women" when their are past 25 years old. Yes, after 25 years old women are considered "old". Also their standard is too "high" - because they want a guy who respect them and is at the same level or higher from them in terms of financial and career.

The funny thing is due to China's past 1-child policy, a lot of female are either aborted or left in orphanages to the point there are serious lack of women in China - men are 20 million more than women or something like that. But they still have the audacity to be choosy.

So ladies, if you lower your standards for LVM/NVM men and misogynistic society at large will keep pushing your boundaries and trying to brainwash you into having no standards at all - and guilt you into sacrificing your entire life and happiness to make the men happy. And even that is still not enough - you have to be picture perfect all the time and if anything goes even slightly wrong - you will be blamed. You have to run yourself to the ground trying to keep up with men's astronomically high standard but if you dare to even have any kind of standard - you are the evilist evil to ever evil in the history of evil.

LVM/NVM keep screaming that women's standards are ridiculous while pretending that their inhuman standards are reasonable and perfectly normal. LOL.

This is beautiful. After years and years of gas lighting myself and living with a deadbeat, deadroom, emotionally and financially abusive man, I have filed and am looking forward to remembering who I am, believing my gut, and living my life fully. Thank you for posting this.
