I’m not religious or anything, but at the end of the day, if the community can drop you that easily, without evidence, is it really a community that you want to be apart of?

Coming from a country without spousal support, the concept is absolutely wild. Congrats my man.

Reads as though she asking for the down payment back, not the proceeds to the entire property. This doesn’t make sense since the profits were split 50/50. So shouldn’t he only owe her half of the down payment, assuming her case has merit (I don’t think it does).

I always thought I couldn’t let my ex become homeless, but after the constant disrespect in my own home… I would never let her stay in my home again.

Best revenge is a life lived well. You got kids brother? Set a good example and live your best life.

No need to bash on your ex to your kid when she’s doing a great job showing the world how bad she is at parenting. Just support your child and let her keep fucking up.

She’s right. You’ll be miserable when she starts dating. Just work on yourself and do the best of your kid. This ship has sailed.

I regret my marriage, not my divorce.

Looking at the state of the world, regardless of how sane your opinion is, there will be millions, if not hundreds of millions of opinions that differ from yours. It’s crazy. Don’t let it get to you brother. The first rule of the internet is don’t feed the trolls.

Thanks for raising this question. I put my kids as the beneficiaries of my retirement account and insurance policy during our separation. Both of my kids are quite young, and as others have pointed out, the ex would likely get control of that money if anything were to happen to me. I need to get that updated asap.

Post natal depression is serious business. My ex had it after our first. Told me how horrible I was after the birth and how I couldn’t do anything right. After the worst 9 months of my life, her hormones settled and things got back to normal. I told myself I would never have another child due to some of the nasty bullshit she said to me. Fast forward four years and she started pushing for another baby. Threatening to leave if we didn’t have another so I relented. Guess what? Her Depression made …

How much is left on the payments? It May be worthwhile just paying it out and transferring ownership as part of the settlement. Fighting for crumbs helps no one but the lawyers.

Sometimes when the house gets quiet, I miss the companionship. But other times I remember the gaslighting, negativity, circular fighting, and lack of accountability, and I know it’s all for the best.

Someone likes your ex for reasons other than financial gain? 🫣 They ain’t all gold diggers.

Take a step back. If your kid was married to someone like your stbx, would you encourage them to stay in the relationship? No? Then why would you do that to yourself?

Don’t do that…

Same story retold by thousands of men in this sub. Going through the same thing brother. I have no idea why stbx pushed so hard to bring children in this world, only to break up the home. You’ll get through it brother.

I recently overheard My stbxw teaching our daughter to ’fight back’, even if she is in the wrong, so she doesn’t get bullied at school. I’m all for sticking up for yourself, but I also believe that if you have done something wrong, own your mistakes and learn from them. This ‘dig in no matter what ‘ mentality is crazy, and I have seen my stbxw do it too many times over the years. 😮‍💨

You’re not a priority in her life. She’s made that abundantly clear b6 her actions. Leave her be.

Sounds like none of the logistics were discussed with your ex before purchasing the car. That’s on you buddy. Surely you’d also push back if your ex made a large purchase without your input and then expected you to contribute, irrespective of good intentions. For the next car, get buy-in from the ex before purchasing, or be prepared to pay for it yourself.

You’re a woman? Why are you posting advice in a divorce men subreddit?

I hope you’re documenting and reporting her self harm. Mental illness is fucked, and it can quickly spiral out of control. The last thing you want is for it to trickle down to your kids.

Growing up, I went to the emergency room once. My daughter, probably over 20 times in her 4 years on this earth. Nothing major, just typical colds, fevers, and stomach bugs. 😫 It got to the point I was embarrassed to go in because I knew they would just give her nurofen or paracetamol and send us on our way. Her mother would throw a fit if we didn’t go though…

Another strong, independent woman who can’t be on her own for a second? Let her be, brother. Energy is better spent making your life happier.

It’s scummy, but she’s not legally obligated to take care of an adult child (wording sounds wrong but I don’t know an alternative). If the father wants to bend over backwards to give his kid a leg up in life, I commend him for that, but you cannot legally force the mother to step up, given she is also currently unemployed and may be living rough.

Wish her the best and move on brother. You both wanted different things in life, and you both got what you wanted. No need to overthink it.

Im thankful I kept my wife and friends seperate. Although it meant I didn’t hang out with them as much as I would have liked while we were married, but now that we’re separated, I don’t have to go through any of this nonsense. Still lonely as hell though, but less drama.

Wait, what is this international kidnapping thing? She tried to take your child and screw you over? And you’re still looking out for her? Even after she didn’t give your feelings a second thought?

What are you doing to yourself. Show some self respect brother and move on. That environment is not healthy for you and your kids.

Some people want the world to be as miserable as they are. 😔 Don’t feed the troll. Don’t take the bait. Your kids will see through the bullshit. 🤜
