Ambition is a good thing. It's good to have goals for yourself, not for your SO. But, your SO will like that you have goals because ambition is healthy and a good thing. I'm working towards a Ph.D. and the fiance is working on designing a video game. I don't care if my fiance doesn't care about my goals, because I do. And that's what matters. Likewise, I'm sure my fiance doesn't care if I care about his video game (I do care about it), because it's about him.

Almost all the weddings I've been too have been relatively small. The only over-the-top wedding I've been to is my brother's, which yeah, he wasn't happy about the cost.

Seriously. The amount people spend on weddings is stupid. Plus, apparently there's a "bridal shower" and the bachelorette/bachelor parties? Fuck that noise. I'm all for a honeymoon though, but it doesn't have to be immediately after or anything.

I must be weird. I'm engaged, I don't feel like planning or paying any of that horse shit. A marriage certificate costs at most like $100, get beer and pizza and play video games. There, you just got married for super cheap.

Blue n/a INTP. I don't put to much weight into MTBI, but that is the one I identify with most.

I usually dress in baggy mens t-shirts and jeans since I'm a poor grad student. I have a few tattoos too. I don't wear any make-up ever. I don't know how to put it on. I wear glasses even though lasik or contacts is an option. I like glasses. Pretty much nothing I do is to attract people, in hindsight.

Except a 42 year old man dating a 20 year old women isn't gross either. Soooo... I still don't get it.

Do you believe both genders have equal rights (in the first world Us,UK, NZ etc)? More or less. There are always issues facing men and women in terms of rights, but we've come pretty damn close. At the moment now, what is feminisms biggest elephant in the room? I'm sure this is an expression, I have no idea what it means. Sorry. As a feminist,do you actively (protest, engage in activism, riot) for your cause? Nope, just think both genders should be equal. Legally speaking, anyway. Where do you th…

I really think it's kind of worthless. People have varying libidos and varying love for chocolate. I think most people really, really like both though. So, saying "prefer one over the other" isn't that meaningful. It doesn't mean you like the other significantly less, someone asked you to pick one and after some varying amount of thought you gave an answer.

I think people who reward jerk behavior are fucking jerks themselves. Let all the jerks date each other, I don't care.

So? Women will give different advice because they all have different outlooks on life. I, personally, don't think you should "date them all." Some guys aren't worth the time, especially "bad boys" (ie assholes). I just didn't date until I found a nice, intelligent, handsome man who is now my fiance. But, that is just what worked out for me, so that is how I view what Sandberg said. Is that Red Pill? Because I don't care if it is or not. I have an awesome SO and I didn't have to deal with the stu…

Come on, dude. Even if we concede that TRPers struggle with social cues (which I don't think is even true -- maybe some do but there's certainly no generalization), that does not mean they have autism. Mental gymnastics much? I struggle with social interactions/cues all the time and I'm not autistic. Some people are just awkward.

Few questions If you have children, didn't you want to stay home to care for them? You will never get that time missed back if given the choice why would you not do it? (Not all rpw stay home but I noticed comments in bp like its a punishment) I don't have children and don't plan to. If I did I would want to stay home with them. if you are anti traditional marriages do you have any examples of long marriages in your family that happened to be traditional? Great grandparents. Grandparents. I'm no…

I'm a fan of chill-out kind of stuff: Bonobo, Bajka, Amon Tobin, RJD2, Emancipator, Pilote, Royskopp. Various other bands: Morrissey/The Smiths is my favorite. I like Joy Division, The Cure, Radiohead, Gogol Bordello, Kaizer's Orchestra, Wir Sind Helden , Sigur Ros. Then, sometimes I listen to System of a Down to feel 16 again. So... yeaaah.

Someone in /r/thebluepill explained it in a way I can agree with, as you described in the OP --- it might be you (sorry I forgot the person's username). There are two kinds of respect, as well. One is in general not being a dick to people you don't know and the other is really respecting someone as an individual because you admire them.

Whatever works for your relationship. My fiance and I make decision together, we rarely ever argue that way. We don't keep score of who does what either, unless its something silly like we're trying to clean the house 2x as fast, in which case we split up the work.

I know a few people who do computational advertising/marketing who apply various machine learning algorithms. From what I gathered, the way it's done is a lot more nuanced than how you describe the situation. Yes, it might matter if a user is female, but it's not generally a strong predictor for how likely someone is to buy something. One of my friends uses hidden markov models that potentially gathers information about you, and how your feeling from the sentences that you type. Other settings i…

Weddings are fucking stupid, but marriage sounds awesome. I love my fiance to death. Couldn't even imagine being with anyone else. Even after being with him for 6 years, I miss him after 2 seconds. LTRs and marriage is cool as long as you're not doing it for shits and giggles. Too many people are with someone for the sake of being with someone, just don't bother if you don't feel it's going anywhere. The documentary itself looks interesting. I'd watch it, but without more info I don't really kno…

Okay. I read that as you thinking the creation of 2 subs proves that the RPW is correct (which is how I read the quote). Apparently, that is not what you meant so you're going to have to clarify.

If your using the creation of 2 subs as evidence for that, then you have no evidence for it.

It proves jack shit. I saw one of these and what it it looks like is a sub for women who like to be feminine without the toxic environment of TRP. What exactly does that prove? That women like to be feminine? I'll email the press right now. I'm not knocking these new subreddits either, they're totally great. But, I fail to see how that proves anything, especially about relationships My only relationship has lasted 6 years without the Red Pill. A lot of women have LTRs without TRP.

Treating someone like a human being means (at least to me) basically sympathizing and understanding that they are entirely their own being with thoughts and feelings too. Only when you view someone as less than human, will you stop sympathizing with them and start hurting them. The aforementioned murdering, robbing and beating normally takes place when a person does not give a shit about another person's well-being. Most genocides are based around viewing another group as sub-human, ie - Not tre…

Shitty Dailymail reporting as usual. What institution carried out this study? Who were the 1,000 people surveyed? The information in the article is extremely limited. Without any information at all, I have no idea what could explain the difference, if it exists at all, and neither can you. Edit: missed where it said "The Fine Bedding Company", so this is even worse than expected.

Not at all. They just shouldn't be forced. A traditional role isn't for me (I have no desire to have children and I like my job as a researcher), but if other people want traditional gender roles with breadwinner dad and take care of the home and kids mom I could care less. People just get hurt by being pidgeonholed into a particular role. But, there's no harm in doing those things if that's what they want to do. I think every child should be exposed to everything they could potentially do with …

I'd say I've been pretty successful relationship-wise because I've only had one. My lack of other boyfriends is largely due to my aversion to people, particularly stupid ones. Most of the guys who have showed an interest in the past have been pretty fucking stupid. I was just like OK, it's better to just die alone and a virgin at this point. I don't really have internal issues because I don't spend a ton of time internalizing my relationship. My fiance is awesome and I'm happy, as is he (I assum…

Mostly everyone looked better in their 20's. Even really gorgeous 40+ year old men probably have seen better days. Aging is a normal part of life for everyone. Best to just keep in shape and get the most out of your younger years.

. I don't know about knitting, but part of the problem is framing women who actually care about pleasing their men as catering to "delicate male ego"s. Why do you think of it in that light? It's not that it's bad to do things for your SO. It's great. It just seems like something you should do, and not revolve your entire life around it. I cook for my SO all the time but I hardly want to spend all of my time doing stuff for him or even with him. Being conditioned to be nice proved to be one huge …

Okay, now I'm confused because I thought the unicorns were RPW forum and they're as equally nauseating as TRP. They spend all their time catering to their SO's delicate male ego and fucking knitting, apparently, because that's not totally useless in the 21st century. Why does TRP (or you, if you also believe this) put such a high emphasis on a low partner count?

But you would entertain the idea? Yeah, it might be enough to consider it. It's not like I'd be considering it based on only those 2 factors (niceness and intelligence) though. How old are you about? I'll be 25 soon. Do you believe they are like this because of joining TRP, or because they were ignorant in the first place? I'm not sure if I speak for everyone -- but, I personally believed a lot of stupid, cringe-worthy shit in the past. Since, I don't know any of them personally, I can only call…

If you met a really intelligent man that wasn't particularly nice, had very many similar interests, wasn't as stable emotionally as previous men in your life, wasn't a millionaire, or really all that great looking, would you still be interested? So, his only redeeming quality is that he's smart? No. Stupid people are always insufferable, but intelligent people can be insufferable. What if he was really intelligent and amazingly nice, but all the rest were lackluster? I can't imagine that would l…

1.) Intelligence 2.) Niceness 3.) Similar interests 4.) Stability - Emotional, Financial, etc. Doesn't have to be a billionaire but needs to have his shit together. 5.) Looks Instant Nope? Any hint of being a douche or an asshole and I would be out of there. I'm engaged to my only boyfriend of 6 years. So I don't have much experience dating at all. I think he has all those 5 things though.
