Mentally ill, very insecure, and vulnerable hot women will also fuck losers. Sorry.

Hypocrisy is everywhere when you think everyone else holds the same opinions - infuriating indeed!

That’s not consistent with my experience and what I’ve heard/read. What are you basing that on?

The people that are willing to put in the effort to scrutinize research may not engage with you because it’s not usually worth it to have a scientific discussion with someone that seems scientifically illiterate.

I know you’re aware, you’re just very dismissive of how it affects abuse victims. “Not as serious” is a pretty subjective term as it depends on what you value the most. If you think physical safety is most important then yea, physical abuse is worse by that metric. But many people think emotional abuse is worse because victims have more difficulty healing from it. Like compare kids that were emotionally abused vs physically abused and you’ll see that the evidence points to the former having a wo…

Still sounds like a gendered issue since women are going about it in a more damaging way?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/23 10:14 PM

Studies are not the same as facts. You are scientifically illiterate if you think that.

What about victims of emotional abuse that commit suicide because they feel like that’s their only escape? Is that not as bad?

You have a really black and white way of viewing things. Emotional abuse can be much more sinister, especially because it’s so much harder to definitively identify it as abuse so the victim can easily blame themselves. The lack of sympathy and judgment from people like you is also an example of how victims of emotional abuse garner less support, which makes things even harder.

Yeah I had this mentality about men without options until one of them cheated on me with sex workers. If they want to cheat they’ll find a way to do it.

I’m a sucker for giving these guys a chance. It doesn’t gross me out, but it does make me feel hesitant, especially after dating a few of them, because I know they lack experience. They haven’t learned how to be a partner and they don’t know themselves or what they want and need as well. There’s a much bigger learning curve for them, and that learning curve can be pretty stressful for me. I feel like I have to teach them everything, from how to communicate in a relationship to how to pleasure a …

In this hypothetical scenario, for me it’s more so something that would warrant a discussion. Depends on why and how much they did it, and then I have my own insecurities and curiosities. Like I’d be worried if sex work comprised the bulk of his sexual experience, or if he preferred it to regular sex. Does he prefer the uncomplicated company of women that are paid to cater to his desires? Is reciprocal sex going to be a chore for him? What were the circumstances that lead him to do it? It’s also…

Definitely, but usually not necessarily related to their appearance changing (although that helps in some cases). If I get to know them and I like their personality and they flirt with me, then that can change things. I usually end up dating guys that aren’t really conventionally attractive, but the more I like them the sexier I think they are.

I wouldn’t wholly blame either gender. I think it’s the beauty industry that perpetuates this bullshit. Magazines, makeup companies, plastic surgeons, etc. Especially convinced after reading The Beauty Myth by Naomi Wolf.

I actually know a straight guy that had a semi-successful OF account for a while. He said the gay guys were really nice to him and it was a big boost for his self-esteem.

Believing things because they “make sense” and you’re too unimaginative to come up with an alternative explanation - classic pseudoscientist.

There’s nothing to forgive, it isn’t your fault. Everyone makes mistakes when it comes to the people we choose to trust - all we can do is try to look for the red flags. Maybe you made some not so great choices or overlooked some stuff but that doesn’t mean you deserved to be hurt or punished on top of that. No one in their right mind would think you’re dirty because you were assaulted. You probably shouldn’t be on this sub right now. You need to take time to address your trauma and heal. Get th…
