You can trace this back to the UN. The United Nations Convention on the rights of the Child. That’s why we see the same shitty laws in all western countries. You hear terms like Best Interest of the Child, when the reality of child support is far from that. The refusal to consider the well being of children in the payors home tells us this has nothing to do with the best interests of children. And it’s not the only shitty law to come from the UN. But it certainly seems to target men.

Well this is embarrassing. But…. Almost none of what you said was true. Women are advantaged in the academic and professional world to a significant factor. Even your tits comment came completely out of your ass. I would have given you the bit on having a different form of difficulty to deal with. But honestly, I’m just going to stop supporting mediocre efforts at making a point. I’m sure you’ve gotten away with it long enough.

Nice set of tools. Thanks for making them available. I’m sure it’ll help someone.

Alimony is the payment to spouses. I wouldn’t cal it subjective to specifics. Whatever that means. To compensate someone for giving up a career is what is encapsulated in alimony. It isn’t obvious at all that expenses should be paid in addition to child support. What then is child support for if not for the expenses of a child? It isn’t obvious any of that nonsense should be paid. People can work for their own money.

Thats what alimony is. I hope you didn’t forget they have to pay alimony too. And this might surprise everyone: the expenses involved in child rearing are an addition to child support. So they pay support, alimony, and child care expenses.

Knowing this, a man has the responsibility to take the possible outcomes into consideration. There is no reasonable expectation that sex will result in children in this day and age. There is no earnest warning for young men about what to expect in court. No one is offering fair warning to men that when she decides to keep it for whatever reason, his life is over. Yours is the most common and absurdly untrue statement that proponents of the current system hang on. Despite the feeling of entitleme…

Under what possible terms could access to better housing, food, education & healthcare provide “no benefit to the child?” When you dont incentivize the break up of the family. Here's the study. Ok, I will give you the bit on men needing to take an active role in birth control. That I do agree with. i think they should hand out vasectomies to everyone in high school. And the bullshit with states outlawing abortion is disgusting and draconian and I simply can't comment any further cause i dont liv…

The woman always has the choice. The father never does. The mother can opt out of the pregnancy, and is not required to provide financially. The rates of child support are shown to be considerably higher than the cost of raising a child. The mother receives a wealth transfer, and as such does not provide financially for the child. She profits. It is a legal paradox from that angle and also because the legislation states the best interests of the child must be considered paramount. Yet research s…

No doubt he has. I went through it for 18 years. Thought about it all the time. But it would mean never getting to see my son ever again. I had a business when we split. It grossed $900k the year before we split. We only took $80k out of it but got other perks. Her lawyer told us they expect support to be based on the full $900k. That would set my support payments at $20k/month. That would be tough to do while making only $80k/year. But apparently judges dont use calculators. So I had to close t…

It’s cool just hearing the perspective. Thank you. I’m not one of those hard like conservative types, I’m not even conservative. But what I see doesn’t fit the bill and I u d’état and that is not a diagnosis. But yes, understanding the square peg round hole makes heaps of sense. My worry is that is the case in reverse as well. That other societal pressures are placing upon him (yes AFAB) that exact pressure. He’s conforming now to a triangular hole because the rest of his peers found discomfort …

Hey this is somewhat unrelated, but your perspective would be invaluable to me and perhaps some of mine might find value with you. My formerly daughter (12) has come out as trans. And early I was very supportive. But as I watched, I wasn’t seeing what I was told the phenomenon was. This is not a boy trapped in a girls body. This is a rejection of societal norms - and if true I’m 100% for that. I should also point this is not the circumstance for all (or perhaps even half) the trans community. So…

Right. And there really is no sense in comparing. Can't compare people to people or understand their circumstance. But we can illicit some empathy. But only if it's played well. And fair.

Fair enough. I get the prejudice. I'm neck deep in it.

Ill go one further and say its much worse on the other side. Its worse because they have the massive cheerleading squad promoting, funding, and giving them the attention to spur on. but that really isn't the point. it isn't about being fair. it's about making a dent.

people deny that men suffer That's a point that needs reversal. How else do you suppose that could come about. As backwards as the Op is, there's not other way reach across and make that point. Like I said. It isn't fair.

I know they're angry. And I get it. I am too. Trying to channel that into something productive. maybe we need the time to sit in it all and let off steam. But as you likely understand, there's a time to get up and get some shit done.

Well here's my only other post on here: Most of my posts on similar subject matter has been in family law subreddits. That's where I do my trolling. But whatevs. i get it. like i said. I knew how this would come across. still thought it was important.

thats a perfectly reasonable tactic and often the best. i suppose it depends on how big of a splash you want to make.

Ya i figured it would come across that way. But the point wasn't to white knight in any way. The point is to share a tactic on getting a point across.

I'm not sure there's much use in squabbling each other over it. It could be a tactical move. I've used that before. I'm not one to back down from a fight or use whatever breath left in my body to fight injustice, but I also know when to make use of a backward pass to set up for a better scoring position. If this guy went in waving his flags, no one would have listened to anything he said. At least now he has an audience. At least now that thread of injustice is being known.

It's almost comical. And yet not funny. All at the same time.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
