Hey everyone, if you look at several (at least 5) of the most recent posts (this one included), they're all posts that are made by new accounts that have the same title and content posted to many subs. Also, they all are very pro-feminist and anti-male. Something is up.

Hey man, so I'm going to start by assuming that you aren't getting symptoms such as the inability to control your bowels or pee, the inability to move extremities (especially on one side), or numbness/lack of sensation in the groin region. I'm assuming this because you didn't mention any of these in your post. If you ARE having any of these symptoms then please go to the hospital. Now, if you AREN'T having any of these issues, then I have some good news for you: You're going to be ok. First thin…

Pretty sure the person in the picture is the YouTuber shoeonhead. She is not a feminist and she critiques feminism regularly. She is likely parodying feminism in this picture. I figured that this is important to point out.

I don't know why people are having a hard time understanding that TRP and JP are talking about different things. As far as I'm concerned TRP is and has always been about sexual strategy and ONLY about sexual strategy. Whatever discussion of 'self-improvement' has been as a step toward the goal of improved sexual outcome. JP by and large discusses how he believes people ought to conduct themselves to live in a prosperous society. A lot of that message focuses on the individual and how that indivi…

Well let's suppose that the average auto insurance settlement is $10 000 CAD (I'd bet it's more, but let's go with this for the sake of argument). Paying $1000 more per year suggests that on average a male might be in about 1 accident more per decade than a female. Does that seem like it might be reasonable?

The kind of conflict he is talking about isn't 'fighting'. I think he's talking about the kind of conflict such as if someone says to you to your face 'No, you're just wrong', or perhaps 'You're a complete piece of shit'. Many men don't particularly like when that kind of conflict occurs, but they can typically just shrug it off. The fact that women will either resort to direct violence or proxy violence when confronted with this kind of conflict is EVIDENCE that they're less comfortable with it…

It is a rhetorical tactic that comes with a risk: you are inherently softening the frame of your argument. This may be a risk worth taking in some circumstances (it obviously depends on who you are trying to convince and what you are trying to convince them of), but remember that in this instance the goal of using the rhetorical tool is to convince someone of TRP ideas. Is the value of another person MAYBE being slightly more convinced worth the risk? I'd suggest not.

1) Deload when you can't complete a 5x5 of one exercise three times in a row (as in, three consecutive days). 2) Continue to use the program as long as you are still making strength gains. Or I guess if you decide you want to try something else. 3) Neither protein or creatine is necessary, but there's nothing wrong with taking it either. You only need a protein supplement if you aren't getting sufficient protein in your normal diet (otherwise it's extra calories you may not need). Creatine does …

If 'hypergamy' simply meant marrying up then both men and women would be hypergamous but with different definitions of 'up'. For example, men tend to want to marry women who are more attractive than they are, which using the definition of hypergamy you were using would be an example of hypergamy. Some people do use this definition of hypergamy. On the other hand, another way of defining hypergamy is the tendency to desire a monogamous relationship with the person with the highest social market v…

Alright, I've seen several people make the same mistake on here, so I'm going to have to make a correction. This movie is not some attempt to overshadow TRP with MRA issues, nor did they steal the name of TRP. As someone who has followed the so-called 'manosphere' for several years, the phrase 'red pill' has been used for longer than TRP has existed. For example, the website A Voice for Men used to have 'Take The Red Pill' as their slogan. It was posted at the top of their webpage. The documenta…

So wait, you think that if you're fat or clearly have a look that says 'I'm not active' then lifting isn't going to make you look more appealing? Also, part of social value is knowing how to talk to people and generally interact with others. Some people aren't very good at that, so going out and practising those skills will certainly help. And, you don't think there are any personality traits that women tend to like? Confident? Assertive? Knowledgeable? If you think that ANY personality traits a…

Is there even hope for someone this deluded by the feminist imperative to eventually come back to reality? Are there any former feminist men who read TRP, even if they weren't quite as bad as this dude? This is an honest question and I'm truly curious of the answer.

Love your work Rollo. I believe that she means that these days she doesn't have much to do with AVfM. It was a chick he picked up in a bar. There was no chance he was going to LTR her (if he's smart). What kind of girl brings home a dude from a bar and then backs off last minute when things are getting sexual? Clearly she was trying to leash the dude by presenting it as though he was going to get some. If he knew the girl by some other means than a bar, then I could see a little easier where you're coming from. But think about it... SHE TOOK HIM HOME FROM A BAR.

Is 2.5 defined as average on the OkCupid rating scale? Because otherwise the average does not have to be half-way between the two extreme values. For example, as a teacher I mark students on a scale from 0% to 100%, but if my class had an average of 50% I would be very worried.

Well to be honest, I don't know whether that behaviour is present in spiders, but I do know that it is present in praying mantises.
/r/askTRP02/01/15 05:34 PM
2

Though on second thought the spider example is very interesting because in species where the male is eaten, choosing an ideal reproductive partner is crucially important to the male since it is their only chance to reproduce, so you might actually see opposing behaviour in those species (where the male is the choosier one and the female competes). Again, this is primarily speculative based upon my understanding of the field of evolutionary psychology and sexual selection.
/r/askTRP02/01/15 07:20 AM
2

I don't know the answer to your question for sure, but I imagine that there are some species where the dynamic is different from ours. Part of why males compete for females so much in our species has to do with the fact that female humans (and of course many other species) can only reproduce every 9 months. Men can go reproduce with many women all in one night if they want to. Essentially, a female's reproductive contribution is inherently more valuable because it is less available. There are sp…

Uhh... this is a music video for Aphex Twin's song Windowlicker. The music video was made as a parody of popular hip-hop music videos in the 90s. I get the feeling that you may be reading into this a little much. For a long time now there has been a tradition in a lot of hip-hop for the artist to portray themselves as rich and successful in the most ostentatious ways possible, and that's what the video is satirizing.

From what I have read, I don't think that those in TRP believe that male disposability isn't bad. All it seems to me to do is notice that society pushes male disposability as a norm (probably in large part due to evolutionary psychology), and suggests how to use that to your advantage as a man. I don't know that TRP is a set of normative beliefs, it's more like a set of suggestions on what to do given the way gender relations are structured and taking into account what many men desire in their l…

To be fair, it's not as though any of the men get a say in whether or not they become dads. While I agree with you that the world would be a better place for black youth and the black culture in general if they got to have their fathers around more often, it would also be a better place if black men got to make the same decision about whether they are ready to be dads as black women get about being moms.

Just to be clear, this is about Lesbian Feminism, not lesbians. It does not stereotype lesbians as anything. Lesbian Feminism is a branch of feminism which is particularly bigoted. One of the values of Lesbian Feminism is gender separatism. So, it is actually showing that Lesbian Feminists are man-hating, which they are and are also probably likely to openly admit. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lesbian_feminism

You're charming. And also you very clearly read the things I said without outright dismissing them, like how I distinguished feminism as an ideology and men's rights as a rights movement. /r/MensRights14/06/14 09:13 PM

Those distinctions aren't pragmatic. By having a name for this rights movement we have a way of finding one another, allowing us to build a community to discuss the means and logistics behind working on men's issues. Dividing the community up by chocolate preferences has no use. The divisions which DO have use already exist, however. The MHRM can potentially be further subdivided into father's rights groups, anti-circumcision movements, and so on. They have names because some people want to focu…

I disagree. The way I see it, feminism is largely an ideology (or group of ideologies) which starts with the assumption that women are oppressed and men are privileged. So, yes, feminism is too specific in that it is largely 'equality for women'. On the other hand, I don't see the MHRM as an ideology or group of ideologies, but a true rights movement that happens to focus on men's issues. The fact that the MHRM largely deals with men's issues does not mean that we ignore the fact that there are …

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if that were true. But I don't think it's the whole story. This is highly speculative, but I wouldn't be surprised if women naturally had lower self esteem as they entered puberty because it may form part of their innate reproductive strategy. Self esteem is a feeling that is intended to motivate change. So, I bet that girls going through puberty have low self esteem with regards to their appearance. On the other hand, men with confidence are seen as more attrac…

Aside from all the other problems with the article, the author isn't smart enough to understand that even if reality were as she says it is, collusion is a completely unstable solution to the 'problem'. If women 'collude' not to engage in sex as easily, then some women would use that to their advantage to potentially snag mates that they wouldn't be able to otherwise. There would be a high incentive for many women to not participate in the collusion.

I see an issue. When it says that 79.2% of male victims of 'made to penetrate' report a female perpetrator, you cannot then say that 79.2% of those rapists are female because you are forgetting about other kinds of rape. It doesn't include forced penetration, for example (which is certainly also rape). You would need to take into account how many men are forced to be penetrated, as well as the relative frequency of that kind of rape. Am I wrong?

As a teacher, I think the professor should have tried something to accommodate the student's preference. I don't understand why so many people in the thread are talking about how the student's request should be immediately ignored because "we can't expect society to bend over backwards for someone else's religious beliefs". We're not talking about society here, we're talking about a student in a class that is organized by one person, the professor. A teacher should try to make the environment co…

If you feel hungry, it doesn't mean you consciously desire to eat. It means your body is in a physiological state such that it is, in a sense, 'trying to get you to eat'. Your body can be in several physiological states without your conscious choice or the mental state which would typically come with it. A man with an erection doesn't necessarily consciously want to have sex, but his body has been placed in a physiological state such that he is ready for sex. Any boy starting to go through puber…

By saying that women would be irrelevant if men can receive sex from other sources, she's essentially saying that sex is the only thing that makes women relevant. That's an awfully misogynistic thing to say isn't it? Unless she means irrelevant only in the eyes of men, in which case it's an awfully misandric thing to say.

I'm surprised that you didn't address the fact that at the end they feel the need to mention that it's the child who suffers as though it was fine BEFORE that realization. As if it isn't enough of a problem just because the man suffers, but since the CHILD suffers, it's suddenly a huge deal. This always bothers me. Men's issues only ever seem to be taken seriously when they're framed as other peoples' issues.

Have you heard of inductive reasoning before? We know these people are willing to disrupt these events using illegal means because it has happened before. So either they either did the same thing this time or the alarm went off coincidentally as the lecture was about to start. The more likely option is that these people did the same thing we know they're capable of. That's plenty of evidence.

The last time the people physically blocked the entrance to the event and the talk still happened after police were called. It's not unreasonable to believe that the same people went to other illegal measures to disrupt the event. Past actions can be indicative of future ones.

I don't disagree. But they definitely said they wore masks because they were fearful of being ID'd. However, I'm willing to bet that part of it is that they simply wanted to attempt to make us look bad. Like they HAVE to wear masks if they disagree with us at all or else we'd ID them.

The best comment I saw to that article: "The feminist author concludes that fathers don’t care about their children because “83% of the time the mother ended up with custody because the father chose to give her custody.” By this logic, the 93% of criminal defendants who plea bargain do so because they want to go to prison."

Whether or not women make 77 cents to every man's dollar isn't really what's in question usually (as far as I'm aware). What is in question is how this statistic is used and how it was generated. The 77 cents stat comes from adding up the income of men and dividing by the number of men, and adding up the income of women and dividing by the number of women. While it may be the case that such a method shows that women earn on average 77 cents to every man's dollar, what it doesn't take into accoun…

Well you're obviously not completely retarded. You argued with excellent skill. You took what they were saying and instead of telling them they were wrong, you acknowledged their concerns and tried to lead them carefully to a different perspective. I'm not surprised the other person abandoned the discussion, feminists often flee when faced with opposition which effectively challenges them instead of being useful to them (by useful, I'm thinking of people who would become hostile to them, they ca…

Feminism has more in common with marxism than blank slate-ism. Feminist theory tends to suggest that women are the underclass, the group of people being intentionally oppressed by the rich and powerful. Marxism suggests that this is the way that society is organized, they simply do not specify that the oppressed class is women.

I'm also a teacher from Brampton, although I have never met this man. My sympathy goes out to him, since I am aware of how damaging this sort of accusation can be for a male teacher's career even if the charges were dropped.

As a teacher from Ontario, I'm sorry to hear that your teacher decided to unfairly grade your paper just because she disagrees with what you said. I think you should talk to a Vice-Principal about what happened. Indicate that you approached your teacher ahead of time to ask her if the topic was alright to write about and she said that it was alright. Also, I'm not sure if you're aware of this since you're presumably just starting to learn about essays, but essays don't have to be true, as oppose…

As a Canadian, I obviously won't be voting in your election, however I do not like either of the Republican or Democratic Party candidates enough to say I would vote for them if I were able to. I would have voted for Ron Paul, but obviously that's not going to happen for anyone now. As for abortion, I am against it (no, I'm not religious). I'd also warn the OP that the condition of rape as being a viable reason to abort is a dangerous proposition. If women could only abort if they were raped the…

Got to love that they attempt to falsify the reverend's claim that some women make false rape reports by presenting research that 10% of rape cases are deemed fraudulent. After all, by their 200 000 reported rape cases per year statistic, that's only about 20 000 people per year who are falsely identified as being rapists... in the US. That's like barely any, right....?

Excuse me, but I am an atheist and have been all my life. And you are not forcing someone to have unwanted children. People who choose not to abort but have unwanted children use adoption. No wonder you would rather not discuss this. As someone who thinks all people who are against abortion must be influenced by religion and want people to provide for kids they do not want for 18 years, you are obviously ill prepared.

It is two people... they are genetically separate organisms. They both have a full set of human dna which are different. And I mean, can you provide me with a reason that it isn't a person that wouldn't force us to call some people not people?

It's not up for debate that it is a human being. It is a human organism separate from the mother with a different biology. What you mean is that it's up for debate whether it's a person. Certainly, it is, and I'd argue that it is a person.

Fatherhood doesn't have any significance until the moment of birth? Odd, I've been preparing for fatherhood for years now and I guess it's all been for naught since I don't have a child yet. If my girlfriend was pregnant and aborted, I would be incredibly upset, particularly since I took her word all this time that she would keep the child. It gets even crazier if someone decides to marry. What if the woman you marry said she wants kids but keeps aborting? Why should men simply have to take a wo…

You must have failed to fully read the OP. Since there exist situations where the woman wants to abort the child but the man does not, LPS does not equalize everything. When a woman doesn't want an abortion but the man doesn't want to be a dad, then maybe LPS, but what about in the opposite case?

It depends on what you mean by feminist bashing. If you simply mean calling feminists names then of course this serves no purpose at all. However, if by feminist bashing you are referring to the fact that many MRAs are activists against feminist ideology and activism, then it actually serves a very important purpose. Many MRAs believe that feminism actively contributes to the oppression of men. For example, as a result of feminism, no fault divorce was passed and a legal system which has histori…

Lots of MRAs think that what feminists call 'the patriarchy' exists, they just disagree with the framing of the concept. For example, the very word 'patriarchy' suggests that women are essentially living in a world where they are dominated by men, which is untrue. It is also framed as being something which was developed by men and added into culture with the express purpose of dominating women. In reality, what feminists call 'patriarchy' is largely psychological and biological gender difference…

It's all evolutionary psychology. Since women are the limiting factor in reproduction, we (both men and women) have evolved to be protective of women. Women developed a psychology (which is culturally reinforced) to seek out help from others and men developed to place women's needs ahead of their own. Feminism is just the embodiment of the psychological tendencies that humans have had since before we were even humans. The difference is that since the first-world is so safe overall, the protectio…

You completely misunderstand the point of the OP. The OP is NOT saying that homosexual men should not be allowed in men's locker rooms. The OP is questioning WHY society thinks it needs separate locker rooms for men and women. If the suggestion is that either men would feel uncomfortable with women seeing them nude, or that women would feel uncomfortable with men seeing them nude (presumably because they feel that a locker room should be a non-sexual area, and that having the other gender would …

Would a male rapist have committed less of a crime had he undergone a vasectomy sometime in his past? My point being that I'm not certain that the possibility of pregnancy really changes how horrid the crime is. Rape isn't bad simply for the reason that it can potentially cause pregnancy. It is bad because it is denying a person their inalienable right to allow them to choose what to have done to their body. This inalienable right exists for both men and women, and rape equally denies it to the …

OP, I sympathize with your feelings. However, I feel as though I should point out that as an MRA group, it's difficult for us to recommend that you try to work things out civilly with your wife. You need to look at this from our point of view: how can we really in good conscience recommend that you work things out when you may end up being one of the men who suffer from the sorts of issues we discuss here? That sucks man. Word of advice though, being really drunk and alone overnight with a woman is a dumb idea. Next time consider not doing that. This is an issue of perceived consent. If there was a situation where the same series of events occurred (man asks to have sex, woman's response is to start performing oral sex, man undresses woman and has sex with her), except it turns out that the woman DID want sex despite not explicitly saying so, then there would be no issue. Since this situation is indistinguishable from the other as far as the man would be concerned, it's perfectly acceptable to suppose that he had good enough reason to b…

I was going to address this in a later essay, but I can give you an answer to some of your questions. Firstly, I think you may have mistaken the use of my example of the incubation unit. It was used to serve the purpose of a thought experiment. And the point of the thought experiment was to show that the two aspects of abortion are distinct, meaning an opinion on either of those aspects can be used to motivate your belief in the moral or legal status of abortion. I was arguing against the common…

Then you can point out to them that being a woman apparently doesn't make them a victim of violence. If it's true that men perpetuate more violence (it's not, by the way) and that the majority of those victims are men, then that just says that men are the primary victims of violence, it certainly doesn't suggest that women are the primary victims when they're less likely to be subjected to violence.

I was talking about the feminist movement when I was referring to those who were destroying the livelihoods and perceived value of men. I don't care about what the motivations behind the feminist movement were, I think that it has largely been harmful to men in it's outcomes. If feminists have good intentions, awesome, but they need to take a step back and see what the impact of their activism is doing to men. A big part of why MRA doesn't get along with feminism isn't JUST because we feel as though feminism overlooks certain male issues currently, but also because many of us tend to believe that feminism CAUSED several male issues. For example, feminism led to no-fault divorce, which subsequently led to men frequently being abandoned by their wife, taking their kids, not allowing the man to see his kids, taking a large chunk of his money, and ultimately having him thrown in jail if he loses his job a…

You really have no idea what you're talking about. Marriage was developed, not as an institution of control of women, but as an extension of practices which were beneficial to both parties and existed since pre-history. Since women are liable to be pregnant for months at a time and then have to care for children following that pregnancy, they were not in a position to care for themselves tens of thousands of years ago. They still needed to eat, but that meant that they would have to go find food…

I'd like to point out that as a man, if another man was hitting a woman like this and I merely called the cops instead of somehow intervening, the courage you express towards the two women would not be expressed to myself by anyone. This is partly because as a man I'm expected to do something (so trying to do anything is considered standard behavior for me), and partly because the way I'd expected to step in is by immediately stopping the violence against the woman, likely by becoming a meat-shi…

I think the quote needs to be looked at in the context of the author being a man who presumably follows the 'zeta male' outlook that AVfM writes about. Society expects that a man ought to risk his own safety for the safety of others, especially women, but this knee jerk point-of-view fails to take into account the fact that, in this case the author of that article, is a human being and not a meat-shield for violence being inflicted on women. That plus the fact that women almost without exception…
