Yes, it is a tragedy n a lt of ways, but the sun will come out tomorrow and time heals all wounds. Get busy living or get busy dying. Now you have time to do what YOU want. No one else. Think of all your buddies who are still married and stuck. Unhappy as hell and will die that way. Way too many .

Can second the hate anger and fear part. It’s really hard and it’s not gonna happen overnight, but you have a whole life to live after this. I’m speaking from first hand experience. Head up shoulders back. Good luck.

Yes, absolutely. I realized after my 12 year marriage ended its all a sham. I realize all women want is another daddy. I don't want another dependent. I wanted a partner. I got a leech. I did get 3 kids out of the deal though, so I'm happy. I was always going to be a father. I think I just want to be by myself. I couldn't date even if I tried. The parting gift I got by trying to be the good guy, is I have to give this worthless person who never did anything, 50% of my income. And we all know the…

I was right there with you. Choosing to let it go was the best decision I ever made. I don't forget, I don't forgive, but I choose to let it go. She ain't worth it, not by a long shot. Also I got kids and I'm not going to fuck them up. She'll always be their mother. All that aside, I really did it for myself. It was getting pretty dark there for a while. I feel so much lighter now. Happy to know you too are on the path of the righteous. Good luck.

Mine was martial arts. Now I go every chance I get and I never regret it. You gotta find a way to be happy being by yourself. I’m figuring it out. It’s not easy but it’s part of the necessary work.

The exact same boat, it’s tough. I just focus on my children (all that really matters anyway). I’ve gotten back into Muay Thai (love it). Then when the kids are gone I just kind of find ways to entertain myself. Spent 20 bucks to drive a lime scooter around my city tonight. It was fun, got me out, and cheap. It not glamorous but it’ll do. Just have to make do. I feel like I’m doing time for the horrible choice I made in a spouse. Just serving my sentence.

When I got divorced. My uncle who is remarried to my aunt, both previously divorced. He's a good guy. Guy's guy. He told me, "You gotta get your own space" and it was the best advice I received during the process. It was 100% true.

Fair enough, it I shouldn’t have to pay her by what she could make. I work a full time job, that is moderate stress. She doesn’t. This idea that she is owed something is bull. But it’s a big part of what we divorced for.

I know that look you are talking about. I called my wife a fucking idiot twice during our marriage. After the second time I saw that look. It was OVER and it wasn't coming back. You know its over. Its not fair. But it's over.

I laugh, because one of the last things I ever said to my ex a night when I really let her know exactly what I thought of her was “I won’t miss you, I’ll mis the idea of you”. You know your old life wasn’t the same as the idea. Keep on grooving.

I know man, I'm in a similar boat. If she disappeared tomorrow I'd be in perfect shape. If I disappeared, she'd be up shit creek. But the dumb cunts don't get it. All they do is take, take, take. Just keep focusing on you, your kids, and your shit. Good luck.

100% the reason I'm divorced is because I didn't make enough money. 150K a year from me, negative from her, and the she had the femballs to complain about it. Fuck those 3 beautiful children. Its pretty incredible. But bottom line she was just a person of zero character. I'm just praying she marries this new guy she met on this "millionaire match" app 2 months after it was official. That would be such a huge bullet dodged if I could get out of the 3.5 (4 when we started) years of alimony I "owe"…

Hey man, 3 daughters myself (4,6,8 at the time), 7 mo post actual divorce. Its gonna be really shitty for the next few months. I'm not gonna bullshit you. But it will get better. Your daughters are all that matter. Just figure out the legal part so you don't get hosed worse than the legal system already allows. Cry as much as you need to, then move the fuck on, cause life is too short and she ain't worth it. I promise you.

Lol, same age, marriage duration, and darn near same weight loss. Good luck to you buddy. I’ve got my head screwed on straight and I have a nuclear reactors worth of motivation that I can call on at any time. That’s the only nice thing my ex did for me 😃.

To quote the peak musical legend Fred Durst. “I did it all for the nookie”. But seriously, don’t. It gives perverse incentives in a relationship. When you really think about it, it is so stupid, you are voluntarily signing your rights away. Marriage is a dying fossil of an institution. Fuck it.

Hey man, it been official for me for 6 months too. I can relate to everything you said. Find a hobby, find a drive. Find something you think is meaningful and pursue it with all your free time and energy. Could be something that brings you value, or just fun/happiness. Let the hate flow thru you and motivate you (Star Wars lol). Life is so fickle and short, don’t waste it. Good luck sir.

Exactly my situation. I didn’t make enough money. She’s a shitty person (it sounds like). So fuck er. One of a million not one in a million. Take some mushrooms, they will put you in the right frame of mind to put her in the rear view. That my honest recommendation.
/r/Divorce_Men27/05/22 10:09 PM

I know how you feel. What happened to me and I assume you was certainly not “fair”. It’s always amazed me the way women can just take, take, take and give nothing. It sucks, but if I were you I’d move closer to your kids. That is my only joy in life really, but it’s just a massive one, so it makes life worth living. That my only real advice. Then figure out how yo find joy again.just never get married again without an ironclad prenup.

I don't know man, if its on you, its on you. I think family and love are the most important things we have in this world. If you have 2 young children and your son cries for you everyday I think you should do everything in your power to prove to her you have changed. Divorce sucks ass. Big time. Don't recommend it to my worst enemy. Be a man and get a hold of yourself. Take responsibility. I'm not trying to be harsh, just honest.

We’ll put. The bottom line is that she isn’t who I thought she was. She never was and never will be. Her character is bottom rung. Deal with it and move on. Your point about dating someone who’d be ok with this craziness right now is EXCELLENT. I’m taking a year and just dedicating it to working on myself. Sure, I don’t have as much sex as I’d like but there truly are worse things and certainly not worth your dignity…

Hey man, this is me. I can relate to the whole post. I found out about 5 days ago. She’s introducing him to my children today. It really knocked me on my ass when I found out. Only thing that has been worse was when my father died. But I’m also feeling like this is getting close to the end of the shit show that was this divorce. The last step. She’s got my money and a lb of flesh. It’s time for her to fuck off. She’s one of the least intelligent people I’ve ever know. So sometimes you need yo ta…

For me it was depression. I have never been depressed in my life but I sure was this time last year and she kept saying I need to get treatment or she’s gone. So I got on and tried some anti depressants. Yuck. Sure enough. It was her, she was my depression. My depression was getting knocked over by life while trying to keep my family afloat. It happened to me 3 days ago when she told me she had a boyfriend. That was the final nail in the coffin that sealed our marriages fate. Ouch that hurts. Your post reminds me of a similar story when we had friends over and they asked us who would you spend your last moments or something and we both kind of blurted out someone else. I can’t even remember the exact scenario, but I remember immediately feeling like “oh shit, this isn’t good”. I am sorry for my share of the failure that our marriage…
