And here's what I have to say: yeah, I am fine with telling men to stop behaviors that make me uncomfortable, that make me feel unsafe, that make me feel like less of a person. Why do people owe that to society? They are two different issues, on two different scales. The Phimae landing is a monumental achievement for science. The shirt is a small sexism drop in the big sexism ocean. I can still discuss the second without constantly bringing up the first. I'm really sorry about that, that sounds awful and was definitely harassment. I don't want all the victimization, thank you. I just want women to have a non-sexualized place in this world. I do not think that Dr. Taylor's shirt should be the main battleground for that, at all. It's just a drop in the bucket, and in the end, I don't really give that much of a shit about it specifically.

I'm not attacking either one of them. I knew it was made by a woman. I disagree with the designer's choice as much as Dr. Taylor's decision to wear it. Sexism against men and sexism against women come from a place of belittling the same kind of traits--feminine traits. It's restrictive for men and it's restrictive for women, in different ways. Taking down sexism against men helps women, and taking down sexism against women helps men. It's not a zero sum gain.
