I was a specific tip for a situation that I see come up often (people hating their SO's friends) vs having a general approach to life (don't bad mouth anyone). At that point, the tip is so generalized that it might be less helpful. Not too sure how knowledge about retirement is controlling. Could you expand on that? Let's say we are looking at identical girls at 27 and one is working a minimum wage job and the other has a career she enjoys, you wouldn't say that most men would rather go for the one with the career? As for the friendships with others: I actually never mentioned if they were opposite or same sex friends. For a SAHM situation, I imagine that most would like someone with some working experience and a college degree to have the "educated and hard working" qualities stamped on them. One of the themes I've seen in RPW is to cast the widest net and make yourself most desirable.
