No, that is not what I am saying, but I can see how my wording can definitely be construed that way, so I will clarify! I am fully committed to him. He is fully committed to me. Initially the plan (hinging on the proposal) was for us to just move, him leading, across the country together. The possibility of us living together before moving and before proposal is simply something he suggested if he buys this investment property. Primarily so I wouldn’t have to pay rent, and we could get a few mon…

Thank you for telling me a positive experience! It’s nice to feel understood in the sense that I really, really wanna see how we work as a domestic cohabitating couple before trying to jump into that head first 3000 miles away from where I’ve lived my whole life. I would absolutely have a back up plan! One of the reasons I’m even considering this risk is because we’re young. Im not in the business of wasting my time, though I may be young, so I think timeline wis, and also MONEY, it’s expensive …

Where we currently live, rent is low. The housing market is all pretty good. If we made move #1 and the proposal didn’t happen, I would not make move #2 with him—I’ve told him as much. He’d still make the move, but we would be parting ways romantically. I know he’s been seriously looking into rings and engagement, he’s expressed his desire and excitement to marry me, asked me my ring size the other day (the day AFTER he brought up moving in locally, actually), and he knows my feelings on the top…

One of the conversations about “when we move” we’ve had is that we don’t want to be engaged for more than 18 months, but he has said his preferable limit is a year. He doesn’t want to drag out the engagement or wait a long time to get married. I’m considering this pre-engagement cohabitation for a variety of reasons. First, it would be nice to have “moving in together” and “moving across the country together” to be distinct steps. Second, the whole “figuring out the domestic kinks of living toge…

Nigella Lawsons cookbooks really help me because she’s honestly a food writer first, recipe aficionado second. Full disclosure: I’m a sous chef in an upscale Italian restaurant, so I’m always looking for inspiration regarding food and culinary experiences. Try making something simple and new. Gnocchi is a very delicious meal that feels fancy but is actually pretty easy. I love using fresh fun ingredients that are in season. Honestly few things are as inspiring as a trip to a farmers market. The …

One of my favorite things about feminine fashion is that there are so many archetypes and aesthetics to choose from! You can be a more edgy feminine, wearing dark florals, bold makeup, etc. My very best friend dresses this way a lot. Lots of dark color midi skirts, a femininely cut leather jacket…she even manages to make a band tee look girly! You can also be very dainty, fairy like! There’s all kinds of options. To start, before buying anything, take a look at Pinterest and find a bunch of stuf…

Polyamory is a very selfish and immature relationship model. They also lack impulse control. My partner needing a harem of lovers/partners because I wasn’t “enough” for them would be very hurtful and negatively impact my self esteem. Obviously you and your partner are not going to 100% have the same interests and tastes…that’s what friendships are for. I had friends in college and culinary school that were in open relationships, absolutely none of them were sustainable longer than about a year, …

What does diversity of thought and opinion have to do with the biological reality of being female? The reality of being born a POC? How these groups of people are treated and socialized by society as a whole due to these factors and traits? This discussion isn’t about the opinions of these people as a class, it’s about the societal implications of being that class. I and every other woman have the right to feel safe in bathrooms and changing rooms. We have the right to exist in partial states of…

I ordered us super nice Japanese A-5 Wagyu steaks to cook up in a few different ways! I also have perfected my creme brûlée recipe and haven’t told him yet (it’s his favorite dessert!), so I’ll be surprising him with that as well!

Respectfully, there are absolutely unifying factors that bind “types” of people together. That’s the entire basis of class analysis. Women, as a class, have something in common: we are all born female. Being born female comes with certain struggles, and it also comes with certain privileges. Speaking hypothetically, let’s assume the OP and you subscribe to a left wing political view. Again, hypothetical. I do not claim to actually know your or op’s political leanings or beliefs. In this hypothet…

My BF and I both like the concept and aesthetic of Valentine’s Day, but think the way a lot of people celebrate it makes it a touch overrated. We’re excited to cook a super nice meal together and crack open a few too many bottles of red wine lol!

You need to leave. Your safety and potentially life depend on it. This man has proven himself to be abusive. What you saw and experienced then as a girlfriend are merely a teaser trailer for what is to come should you go back to him and become his wife. He is unfaithful to you. He is entirely separated from your family and will likely eventually expect you to also separate yourself. This man is not high value. I know you feel a lot toward him and have fond memories, and leaving is easier said th…

I said it first too! It’s actually quite a comical and cute story that’s one of our fondest memories. We’d known each other awhile before we started dating and were only about 2 months into dating (I’d been vetting him about 6 months of the 8 months I’d known him before). We were on our way back to his place after attending a party together and were both starving so we decided to stop for some Taco Bell (only thing open at 2 am, lol) and he brought up the discussion of where the relationship was…

Exactly! Like I said in my post, some things I’d previously been doing I had intuitively thought were the way to go/what was needed. I realized because of this sub that I’d been treating them how I had wanted to be treated in those previous relationships. For example, when making big choices, I prefer to be questioned about things and talk them through with another person whereas a man views this as disrespect unless he specifically asks for said questioning and conversation

STFU is definitely the one I struggled with the most! I’ve always been a very opinionated and somewhat bossy girl. But I have to say it’s been so nice to take a load off and let him handle things! I have so much more mental and physical energy because of it and he feels respected. Win-win! Congratulations on your success as well :)

If you believe he’s frugal and good with his money otherwise, what leads you to believe he’d throw those values and ideals aside when it comes to vacations and weddings, and that he’d spend tons of money on those things if he couldn’t reasonably afford them? It seems to me like a lot of your fear is coming from a fear of the unknown. You’re used to having to roll your sleeves up and toil to make ends meet. According to comments, you really only went on vacations every 4 or so years, whereas he g…

N count essentially just means “body count”, as in how many people you’ve had sex with. I don’t really think there’s any hard & fast rules about what constitutes a “high” or “low” count, as it’s pretty subjective and based on a lot of factors like each persons opinion and the woman in questions age. Like an 18 year old girl having a count of 3 is a lot different than a 30 year old. That being said, it’s not exactly a secret most men prefer a woman with as low of a count as possible when seeking …

Ultimately, it’s your decision if you want to remain a virgin until marriage. But as other commenters have said, sexual compatibility is absolutely vital to a working and healthy marriage. Sexual dissatisfaction, lack of intimacy, and the infidelity that can result from that are some of the highest predictors and listed causes of divorce. You cannot create that compatibility out of nowhere. People are correct when they say sex with someone gets better over time, as in through years of marriage/a…

Everything you said “lines up in your brain” because it is your personal opinion you’re sharing, so of course it makes sense to you, and you’re a child. 15 is not your “sexual prime”. Complications during pregnancy and childbirth is the LEADING CAUSE OF DEATH for girls age 15-19 globally. You are nowhere near your sexual prime, even if you’re talking about attractiveness rather than reproductive capabilities. You’re not done growing. You’re not done sexually maturing. Your breasts grow into your…

That’s not true at all unless you completely ignore everything else we’ve discussed in this conversation. Giving money to a neighbor in a bad time isn’t the rich taking it from me. Refusing to participate in the culture of hedonism isn’t buying their lies. Living the life they promote the opposite of isn’t being docile.

No, they’re securing that future by taking your money, feeding you lies, and keeping you docile. Good people don’t need “incentives” to be good. They just are.

Yes, the rich and powerful are leaving behind a good world for THEIR kids and THEIR purpose. Not my kids or my purpose. You think they want you happy? Energized? Aware and capable of making decisions that benefit the greater good and broader society? They don’t. They’re not hoisting a moralistic world onto you. Quite the opposite actually. They want you depressed, down trodden, and dependent on meaningless encounters for a temporary dopamine rush. Why? Because it makes you easier to control. A d…

Why do I care about what other people go through? Because believe it or not, those people also matter. I hate the rich and powerful for the very reason that they’re selfish, egotistical bastards. Why tf would I WANT to be like them when I could be better than them, work to improve society and the lives of those around me, and thus leave behind a better world for my kids and grandkids? Weak men create the bad times. You can’t improve the bad times without improving the weak men, and that starts w…

I suppose if you’re looking at it through a hyper-individualistic lens, sure. There’s not much of an incentive there other than holding yourself accountable to your own personal standard. But when you consider the fact that humans are by nature, biologically, very collective social animals, it changes. You’re not as much of an individual as you like to believe. 98% of human beings are followers to the core. Take a look at your question for example. What kind of culture do we live in? A hyper sex…

Check our cupshe, romwe, shein, ASOS, and Amazon! I grew up going to the local water park and in my experience, you should go for bottoms and tops that don’t tie! Clasps and hooks are best and least likely to come undone while sliding and swimming, an added bonus it they’re much easier to get on without having someone tie it for you

Yes, but not in a “soul mate” kind of way. Well adjusted people will be compatible enough to have a successful relationship with hundreds of different “someone’s” out there. If you find yourself in toxic relationship after toxic relationship, you may be the problem. Not everyone you meet is going to work out, though.

Former gymnast and competitive dancer here! I have chronic pain in about 7 different areas of my body due to old injuries and joint strain. Both ankles, both knees, hips, and lower back. Gentle stretching helps a bit, but what really helped was investing in a quality mattress and pillow. I also take a CBD supplement every day and I’ve noticed it really helps tremendously!

Of course it’s a goal. People who believe a good marriage and being a good mother are something that just happens and not a goal you have to work toward are part of the reason divorce rates are so high and we have so many broken families, and children with behavioral problems.

Normally it comes off as jealousy and insecurity. Exceptions for if another guy won’t leave me alone or is starting to weird me out. My boyfriend knows by just a look I give him across a room, and he’ll come intervene. Though I would consider that more as coming to my aid/rescue than mate guarding.
