Ooops, when I said continue the conversation with my fiancé, I did not mean that I would try to convince him that it's okay for me to hug this man. I want to understand him more. But you're absolutely right. He is more important, and I will be spending the rest of my life with him and not my manager so I need to show him I feel this way. I messed up and would like to fix it.

I don't see his request as unreasonable. I'm struggling with respecting and honoring my man's request and playing office politics at the same time. I am truly stunned that he feels so hurt by my actions, and I want to fix it.

Yes, I am partially hesitant to hurt my manager's feelings, and also partially hesitant because he can be a bit vindictive. He is in charge of scheduling, so if his feelings are hurt, both SO and I could have a work/financial problem. You all are right. I had the power to nip this in the bud a long time ago. I left work very upset. How can I handle this with my SO when he gets home?

I definitely see why you say that! Generally, we have a very loving and trusting relationship... this reaction from him is unusual. When he told me that it bothered him the first time, it was calmly. We fought last night and it carried over into today... He keeps saying that he's so hurt :( I'm not really sure what to do... Either to tell my manager to stop hugging me, or to continue this conversation with my fiancé.

Thanks for the input! I'm glad I asked because he looooves when I wear my hair a certain way, but I'm not that crazy about the style, however I'm going to make an effort to wear my hair the way he likes it. It's these little points I need reminding of :)
