This comment in particular struck a chord with me. Why? I'm a recovering addict (6.5 yrs clean) and in a 12-step program where codependency is one of the more common traps addicts fall into. Simply never read it defined so simply. Thank you for that, bud.

Recovering addict (6-1/2 years clean here). Almost all of what you say here reflects my experience as well.

As someone this applies to, I want to add that this issue also directly affects posture as it forces you to crane your neck in situations where you might otherwise just effortlessly redirect your eyeballs.

As a person nearly 7 years in recovery from addiction, I have to say this post is somewhat misguided. Some parts are spot on, but all its roots are not with mommy. Laziness and complacency come from mommy's sheltering, but the repeated active dopamine-seeking behavior doesn't necessarily. Edit: Meant to emphasize "SOMEWHAT misguided" and "not NECESSARILY" tied to mommy

Recovering addict (6 years) here. Same story here. Hit a 12-Step Program or something (see "No More Mr. Nice Guy" for why). You think you have self-awareness but you actually don't because self-investment is a byproduct of gaining self-awareness AND vice-versa. Self-investment (lifting like you do already, doing interesting shit, reading books, finding hobbies, travelling, focusing on money, JOURNALING, etc.) gives confidence, among alot of other things that give you value. You're all surface tr…

Definitely a huge fan of posts like this. Monk mode gives time to build an excellent foundation to be a man, period. I especially found it interesting how you forced yourself into it by loading up on other commitments. It's hard to be concerned with petty shit like rejection when you have so many other things above it on the priority list. Women tend to be a side effect at that point I noticed.

Recovering addict with 5-1/2 years clean here. I can confirm all truths in this post. Personal reflection and lots of banging my head against the wall pre- and post-exposure to TRP has led me to realizations consistent with this.

I have to wonder what the stats for the Republican debate look like as far as views are concerned now that Trump has removed himself.

I have HSV-1. Caught it from either kissing this one girl or from her blowing me. Not sure. In any case, I started getting cold sores maybe once per month. I literally get away with treating it like I have a cold when it comes to kissing. "don't kiss me, I have a cold sore, gotta wait a day or two". Doesn't affect my sex life one bit. Sometimes I even treat it like I've had it my whole life like "yeah ive had it as long as I can remember. Probably got it from an aunt kissing me on the cheek as a…

Nice post. I've fallen into this trap once or twice myself. It helps keep both feet on the ground when someone tells me not to take myself too seriously in the process of swallowing the pill.

Also, very important, if your QL consistently is spasming like mine has been, try stretching the same side piriformis and opposite side QL (yes, because the spasming side isn't tight, it's loose and weak and being pulled by the same side piriformis and opposite tight QL). I've been dealing with this for the better part of a year and a half until a professional who actually wasnt a quack gave me this insight and it fucking went away. Now for rehabilitation which is a BITCH.

I wouldn't look at who she's "dating." Consider what (or who) else is going on in her life. Remember, women are both unconsciously and consciously duplicitous by nature.

Agreed. In that case, there's a superthread on TRP about the 48 Laws of Power that lends a modern context to its utility in the business/career world. Alternatively, pay a visit to /r/the48lawsofpower subreddit and do some digging there. The insight available is excellent.

"it's the time of [my] life and it's only downhill from here." They say that because that's been their experience, but a good look at the food they're eating and the family dynamic in general says "if you keep doing what you're doing, you'll keep getting what you're getting."

Oh, don't misunderstand. I'm no attorney, and nothing I wrote is legal advice, and I certainly wouldn't represent myself in any matter. Also, I misstated: the burden of proof in civil matters is a preponderance of evidence (more likely than not), not beyond a reasonable doubt.

You can literally keep Google location services on all the time on your phone and simply pull records from this page https://maps.google.com/locationhistory/b/0 Doesn't help that they can be altered but hey, we only need reasonable doubt, right?

It is. I found it important to reread sections and think through some of the activities every once in a while. If I put a book down after reading it, then come back to it later, different passages start to jump out at me each time I reread, so I get more insight.

Thank you for this, /u/apachemd. I literally just started reading this after downloading to my tablet 15 min ago. You're absolutely right: lots of RP truths in here. Excerpt here: Love, romance and family, for example, have been corrupted by feminism resulting in effeminate men, masculine women, divorce, the destruction of stable families, the rise of single parents, and maladjusted children. ...and one more... ...For example "The Manosphere." There is not one young man alive today who has not s…

Yes, TRP is good at getting rid of the noise pollution found in subs like /r/relationships, /r/seduction, /r/pua, /r/becomeaman (actually a really good sub) and contains threads showing why and how hamstering/suffering ends up on /r/relationships, 2XC, etc. We could use the same sort of filtering for other aspects of becoming a man. This fits right into TRP territory. Having Bux without being BB is important to a man's sexual strategy as much as lifting and taking bits and pieces of frame from s…

THIS. I did the same thing in all of my exercises: overcompensating for what I thought was a rounded back by overextending. Really, my back was neutral the entire time on its own. Ended up causing muscle spasms on the left spinal erectors. That side still gets significantly more inflammed after workouts so I make sure to stretch every. single. fucking. day. It's also more developed than the right side. Furthermore, I was bracing my core improperly. Be sure you're responding properly to the "ches…

Thanks for sidebar-quality material. You might consider throwing Leangains in there as well. I also fucked my back up by not bracing my core properly on squats. JUST got cleared to go back to the gym after almost a year off. I felt like a caged animal and nearly suicidal. Lesson learned: ego will kill us.

My answer to your question is, without hesitation, YES followed by an infinite number of YESes following the first. Here's why... What I see when I read this post is: "TL;DR: Thinking about putting pussy above my best interests. Bad move?" Consider this. I presume since she's your therapist that you've already exposed much vulnerability to her. Right now, it is plausible that she is looking past this because she has an awareness of the patient-doctor relationship. In almost any other circumstanc…

On a more hopeful theoretical note, perhaps the trend of self-improvement among men will actually result in a lot more rejection of women. Women's hypergamy may meet increased rejection from newly-improved alpha mindsets and bodies. Perhaps this would level the field?

My fellow Redpillers, google "Thunder's Place" if you're really curious. Yes, it works. (source: me, though I'm already blessed and happy; and that nsfw forum, where you will be seeing a lot of before-and-after johnson pics). With that I'll say both "I'm sorry" and "you're welcome."

I have such a good story about this. I stuck my dick in CRAZY some years back. Except in my case, neither of us wanted it. We were both broke and living with our parents (I was 21, she 19) and I offered to work my ass off to pay for an abortion (she didn't know she was pregnant until a week later). I was hoping she'd wait but noooooooooooooooo... This crazy had to take multiple birth control pills and drink a bottle of vodka, ultimately destroying the tissue and causing her to miscarry. I mean y…

You're right that it's a little deeper. I can hang out for a few minutes before I look for reasons that I don't want to be there anymore. The alcohol is the easiest crutch for this. I deceive myself way too easily. I look at TRP like a cousin of my NA network in that I need other people to spot my defects for me because I trick myself too much. So thanks for that. So moving on, I developed what felt like a strong identity, I grew extremely confident as a person, and I attracted positive attentio…

It's not the insecurity of what people think of me as much as it is the compulsion to drink itself. I can't go to those places without completely giving all power to my obsession over drinking. With nearly 4 years of recovery and abstinence under my belt, I'm still simply not there yet. I'll freeze up and not speak or approach a single person, and ultimately I'll either drink or I'll leave while getting very hard on myself for not being able to handle it. As far as nailing girls that go to meeti…

Dude all you demonstrated was douche behavior. There's nothing alpha about pawning your kids in an argument with your [ex]-wife. You lost, period. There's nothing bragworthy about the contents of what you just expressed, but it's good that you expressed what happened and your feelings about it. If anything, what you did to your wife and kids was more a reaction characterized by abusive sociopathic manipulation in response to a perceived loss of control and a very actual deteriorating frame.

if you maintain high SMV there ought to be no deescalation. That's why they call them orbiters. You're so proximally available ("so close" distance-wise) yet so reserved in your decision ("yet so far").
/r/askTRP05/11/14 03:43 PM

If she's eye-fucking you, then as her neighbor, you can afford to let her orbit for a while. She obviously isn't going anywhere any time soon. You actually don't need to do anything at all, which works to your benefit if you're at odds with the decision. While doing nothing is a decision in itself, you don't need to let the issue run circles in your head all day either. OP has time to look at his value system.
