Good advice thank you, I’ve never liked the idea of completely combined finances which may now prove prudent. we both have our own accounts where we are paid and contribute a specific amount each month into a joint account to cover the household payments and bills.

True, very true, I’m in a very selfish state right now and am hoping, perhaps naively, to secure the best outcome for me and my kids. I’m putting us first and not focusing on the other parties involved.

I would, I’m also aware how much her reputation management may play to my favour here. I’m not going to use it as ‘give me what I want or else’, that’s not going to be looked upon favourably if it gets legal, but I’m going to offer the opportunity of a fairly amenable process, keep the gloves on, for now but no promises either.

I think this is solid, letting the letter land unannounced would be a bitch move, I need to own my decision and do it face to face, filling first then informing will still give me the stance of ‘I’m done and I’m serious’ and reduce the possibilities of negotiation or the tricks she’ll pull to make me change my mind. I won’t win a battle of wits, I’m steeling myself for the circus of guilt, blame shifting and minimisation. I’m not expecting false DV accusations, but I’m aware it’s a possibility.

They do have a partner, I’m on the fence about that as well. I’ve toyed with the ‘if you don’t tell AP I know, then I will’ but more in the ‘you made your choice, it makes no difference now, text him, blow him, I’m out’ The partner is another matter, would you purposely blow up another family? There’s kids involved both sides. I can either take the high road and try secure my own best future and that of my kids. Or I can be the joker, walking away while the building explodes behind me.

If you have access to the device and her email. https://help.snapchat.com/hc/en-gb/articles/7012305371156-How-do-I-download-my-data-from-Snapchat But it’s a catch 22, if you do it and find what you suspect, it’s bad. If you do it and don’t find what you expect but she finds out. It’s bad. Hell, even if she’s full blown cheating and finds out you requested the data it’s a weak position to come back from. Either way it’s a nuclear option, break glass in case of emergency.

Oh it's buzzwordy as fuck mate, I've thought a lot about this after your comment and reckon I can distill everything down to a simple mission. Win Today, Be Happy. Everything I do recently has been filtered through that question, even basic shit like keeping the house clean by myself and not expecting any assistance, instead of the fluffy 'capable of flying solo' which is a more polite way of saying 'I'm going to own my shit and act as if she was dead', it still all comes down to wanting to be h…

I listened to what I could on audiobook. particularly NMMNG and WISNIFG, in the gym and the car. I also invested in a kindle for the rest, which can be password protected, I mix up reading fiction at home, and sidebar stuff when I’m alone. No hard copies at all. Recently pulled the trigger on YouTube premium so I can listen to Stone’s stuff at the gym without having the screen on.

You’ve got to realize this relationship is basically dead. You’re moving on. It’s up to her to decide if she wants to keep u. Damn son, this brought some things into focus.

Likely climb back in, Give her the chance to bask in more of the afterglow and go for round two and see how that played out.

I’ve been here for a while, NMMNG was the gateway drug which made a lot of things click so I spent a good while reading to find something as useful. NMMNG and WISNIFG have stuck the most. Only recently sacked up and started attempting to document my shit and accept/learn from having sense kicked into me in the comments.

Not a slob by any means but uniform of choice would have been jeans and a t shirt. Even another less dressy shirt. Barely any effort.

This was like 10pm and we were in bed settling down to watch an episode of something before bed so I don't think getting up and disappearing would have been the right move in this case. But I get what you're saying and appreciate the response.

Definitely read this book, specifically pay attention to the parts about caretaking and how NiceGuys can be commonly attracted to people in serious need of help, often SA survivors, and how this creates an imbalance in a relationship.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
