Great post - this is solid stuff! We need more of this in here!

I will say that there are different places that require different styles... The cities tend to be easier because there's just more people out there. I did ok in Brighton, but in Gloucestershire it was terrible! Apparently the posh girls of the Cotswolds don't go for scruffy punk dudes! I had the same in Europe, France, station and Italy I had very little luck with the locals, but Central and Eastern Europe was awesome! All that said, if you've got good game, you can pick up anywhere. I do ok, ju…

Agreed. London is very different yes, but that doesn't mean every other girl in the UK will totally shut you down just for saying hello.

That's a very valid point - covid was real bad for meeting people. Also the people who just say 'go out and bang' are really not helping anyone. Save some money save go traveling if you can. Backpacking around Europe and staying in hostels will make it very easy to meet lots of fun young people on the same wavelength. Just head to hostel bar each night and be prepared to pay to upgrade to a private room!

As someone from the UK, but has lived in countries with great weather as well. Good weather does not make culture, it can kill it! People become overly focused on looks and the gym, while having no opinions on art, science, music or anything else. Just look at festival culture in good weather countries - in the UK we do festivals to stand in the rain for hours just to see our favourite bands play. In Australia they go festivals to wear the smallest amount of clothing they can get away and take d…

Or she finds other qualities redeeming? Or perhaps she's not a 10 herself?

Eh, looks are subjective - everybody looks the same in the dark

Yeah that's a fair point. It's easy for an average guy to really enhance himself to a point of attractiveness. Not so much for an really unattractive guy. I can imagine getting friend zoned is more prevalent, and just straight up rejection. That said, I do know some pretty ugly dudes in happy relationships, so it's not impossible

Who cares if they do? Girls can still be attracted to gay guys. And if they think you are hot and gay, all you have to do is correct them.
/r/seduction28/09/21 02:15 PM

It's an important factor, but not the only important factor. Good looks don't get you laid, being ugly doesn't make it impossible. Make yourself as attractive as possible physically, then make yourself as attractive as possible mentally. See the thread above, there's some good stuff there

I agree 100%. The 'appearance' of confidence, or of being someone with influence is much more important for men than women. We're simple apes, hot girls are hot whether they're a checkout girl or a princess. But an attractive guy in a shitty situation will get less than an average guy who's balling! We used to call it POP - position of power - not actual power like a politician, but a status. We brag about hooking up with a 9, they brag about a bar tender, DJ or tour guide (I know this last one …

Yep, shampoo is bs! Stopped washing my hair years ago, so much easier! But yeah, soap and cologne for the rest of me when I want to make a good impression

I don't see why not. I like my outdoors stuff as it keeps me fit and is way more fun than a regular gym, but it's the passion for it that will help with the conversation. You've gotta have some braggable moments that make for good stories, and make sure you're part of a community. Perhaps enter some writing jams? Something like that that will give you something interesting to talk about.

I'd be a very happy man if girls came up to me because I was good looking (I mean, I'm not bad looking, but you must a freakin' model!) I wish I could tell this to everyone here (and all the girls on tinder!) - Get a hobby. Something engaging, fun, adventurous. Personally I think rock climbing, or mountain biking are great for this. Then, when you are talking to a girl and she asks you *anything* steer it to your hobby. It'll be a low-key brag, possibly impressive, and if you're passionate, you'…

This dude gets it. You've got to work in life to get what you want/need. It sucks but it's true. Yeah there's some naturals out there, and some people have it easy, but plenty more don't and put the effort in. It's worth it in the end.

You've said game is too hard, and asked for the easy way and he gave it too you. Honestly, reading through your comments and things it sounds like you need to start from the ground up. Don't worry about girls right now, concentrate on yourself and working towards getting yourself in a good situation. I don't know where you're at in life, but if you've got a home to live in and some family willing to support you then you're not bad off at all. Find a sucky job that stops you from being broke, get…

There's a few over there, I work in one in Canada atm. Hostelling international is a pretty global chain. Very rare for people to use them in their home country though. Well in usual years at least

In this situation definitely! It's what their called in the UK though, even though the youth part is pretty irrelevant these days. What do you call them?

The most obvious answer, why is it so far down the list?? Youth Hostels (YHA, HI etc) usually have private rooms for pretty cheap (and often bars as well) if you're on a budget.

Totall agree, having a valid reason to live with your parents shouldn't be a turn off for any reasonable girl. If you're not a basement dwelling neckbeard, then the issue should not be the girl!

"I've been away traveling" That, and I'm sure there's many more, excuse is perfectly valid, and a great humble brag. I'm no slayer, but living with my folks never slowed me down.

Fund-raising for charities by standing in the street and asking passers-by if they'd like to sign up to donate a regular amount. Not aggressively but very annoying! They are hated nearly everywhere they operate, especially busy cities where a lot of high streets have teams along them 3/4 times a week.

This is unbelievably true. I worked as one of those charity douches on the streets in Australia - nothing prepares you for cold approaches and a thousand knock-backs like that job!

Were you out with friends? Did you go to many bars or just one? I find if I go out to pick up alone I can choke and end up with no approaches. But if I go out with friends then I have them to build me up, both before and after. Going to a new bar after choking in one can 'reset' your confidence, so try that And don't forget the 3 second rule! Keep at it, and better luck next time!

I mean it, with the perfect play, any guy, any girl any time. Of course the perfect play is impossible for a mere mortal, but in theory I see no reason why it's not true. You're right about the variables, but you've still got to look at it objectively. If you just blame it on situation and circumstance then you'll never learn from your mistakes, and never progress. Figure where the tide changed, what you might have said that didn't work and improve. Sure you can keep plowing until you get succes…

I have no idea why this would matter, Apps are for flirting when you can't flirt (while pooping). If you can go out and talk to a girl, do that.

I had a really great interview question. They asked me two of my biggest passions, and then I had to to sell those activities to them. Tell her about something you love, and ask her to sell you on something too.

I don't think you can say it's purely a numbers game - it's possible to approach 1000 girls and fail every time. When you're learning and practicing then numbers are the best to get your techniques down, but you also need to figure out what went wrong. With the right moves - any guy, any girl, any time. OP - Take some time after each one to figure it out. I'm guessing, but here could be some reasons Body Language - if you snuck up weirdly or just didn't have that balls out confidence then she ma…

How obvious was the knock down? With something like this you've gotta be careful, for a few reasons. Most of all because you could really make that class awkward! I'd find an excuse to hang out with the girl, maybe a study session at the library then see if there are any IOIs. Take it slow and go indirect, otherwise you're just a guy who got shot down twice! Good Luck!

"British. I like snow, punk rock and people. I get down with the nerds. I live in the Canadian Rockies right now, but I'm on holiday, woo!" I haven't updated that since my last trip away, but I've been getting plenty of matches (relatively for a small town) so clearly girls don't worry about it too much. Be honest, be brief and be yourself. I see no reason to pretend to be someone I'm not - I'm not a good enough actor, but I am a good enough person.

Ah that sucks man. I play guitar too, and I've found that starting a band is a great way to meet like-minded people. Also, rock-climbing is a great sport for meeting people, everyone is really friendly, and a lot of it requires a partner, so you have a perfect excuse to say hello. As for Tinder, remember it's not that important, if you can go out and pick up/meet people then, it's just an extra tool to have. I just use it when I'm bored at work, or on the can!

Oh my buddy is from Toronto, he loves tinder there! He just got high and swiped! He's really not great looking either - dad bod, balding, weird canada dress sense. Make sure you're doing something interesting in the photos, no need for professional stuff, but any activity will appeal to girls who do them too, or are just impressed by guys that do 'stuff'. Winter sports, travel pics, extreme sports all get attention. Chuck some dad jokes in your bio as well, but leave out the punchline! Hope this…

I think you can spin a line about why you're living with your mom, something that'll make you endearing in their eyes. If you have some European blood, then most countries along the Mediterranean hold really strong family ties and I don't think girls would find that un-attractive. Then when it comes to the physical act (of getting into, and out of, the house) play it up like you're naughty teenagers. It would be kinda fun!

Where are you based? I've used it in small population areas and it can be really dry! If you work on your photos a bit, I'm sure you could get a few matches. Or if it's not your thing, delete and carry on. Personally I like it, as I don't drink so don't go to bars too often. And I like that I can flirt while pooping!

I like physical stuff, but not team sports Rock-climbing is a really good one, great exercise, lots of cool people, good activity for taking weekend trips, and you need a partner to belay you, and people are always willing to help out. Often there's auto-belays so you can warn up (physically) and don't need to worry about going alone. Boardgames are getting more and more popular as well, loads of cafes do game nights, find a buddy, learn Catan and get involved :)
