Thank you, you've given me the opportunity to quote myself. "the idea was that he'd [...] start reading about the psychology of needs." "Maslow is obsolete, but he's a good starting point... there really aren't any others as universally recognized, the field is a mess." thatwasdepressing, Comment on r/PurplePillDebate: CMV: Sex is not a Need.

Not really, if I was just ipse-dixiting him I would have just given the name, the idea was that he'd either shut up and ignore me, or start reading about the psychology of needs. Maslow is obsolete, but he's a good starting point... there really aren't any others as universally recognized, the field is a mess.

But could you say it is a purely physiological need? If so, you might want to get that checked by a professional, you've got the need for speed.

I've been trying to find it. Be honest, you didn't even try. It's a classic paper from the 40s, well known and well debated, and it's a good starting point if you didn't know about Maslow, VERY easily available online. Here, have a link in case you're actually interested in reading it: http://psychclassics.yorku.ca/Maslow/motivation.htm It's not just about sex, Maslow wrote about needs and motivations, including sex. If you are only interested in the part about sex, then the relevant quote in my…

"Sex may be studied as a purely physiological need." Maslow, A Theory of Human Motivation. THERE. I changed your view. Or given you the starting point to write a paper. Call back when it gets peer-reviewed.

I do, if you want to live as a bachelor you kinda have to pick up after yourself, otherwise you either have to pay someone to do it for you or live in filth. You can do the chores efficiently, it doesn't take much time and lets you notice what needs more mainteinance, but the house won't always be spic-and-span. That's not an efficient use of time, and personally I can deal with some dust behind the bathroom mirror. Cooking is the same, you won't prepare 5-course meals but dishing up something h…

Not even that, basic cooking is just throwing ingredients together with a minimal amount of common sense (+spices and herbs). A woman that can't do that, or really anybody who can't... how can they even survive?

Actually YES, that's exactly what happens. Have you ever heard high school girls going all 'I want to marry him' and 'I want to have his kids' about a pop star or an actor? It undenyably happens, but it takes more than economic success, it takes social success, you gotta be a celebrity.

What does it mean to defect or cooperate? What is the goal? The idea isn't that women are Defectobots, but that you're playing the game on the wrong board! Take the bluepiller in a relationship: he thinks he's cooperating, while he's losing sex appeal day by day - that's defecting. Eventually the woman will run her own iterating prisoner's game strategy, and defect herself. The bluepiller is a Defectobot, and he doesn't even know it.

Since in Italy there's also talk of a potential Basic Income : just make that BI reality, and you can remove all alimony and make divorces focus ONLY on the children's future, if there are any.

Are you a woman? Then be hot, loyal, "wife-material" for brevity, and don't fall for this shit. If you're a man? Whatever you do will be taken as research. If it works it will be incorporated into the RP.

Fuck yeah, you survived abuse and reacted with rage. The lack of support is pretty common, for boys, but now you're over that hill - or are you? Cut those ties, and say hello to your new life.

You don't get respect by being an 'hard worker', if you're in an office environment it might reflect badly on you, actually! You want to command respect? Then be the boss yourself. Second to that, be the next in line or good enough to, at least in theory, quit and open on your own.

I'm with your friend. If it wasn't that guy, it would have been someone else. Cheaters gonna cheat, why did you gf a cheater anyway? You'll rage at the guy, it's as normal as the girl hamstering it up. You'll be raging, and who'd you direct this at, otherwise? at the girl? Like hamstering is 'normal' but not 'healthy', this kind of rage is sort of 'normal', but will get you in trouble. Learn to control your emotions.

Caesar's wife must be above suspicion. Has she distanced herself at all from that male friend? How comes that friend has the gall to (jokingly of course!) say this, anyway? She's not above suspicion, she's not worthy being the wife. Someone else will fill that role, she'll find an other position.

Why usually the woman? Why do you bring these unfounded generalizations to the party and expect anyone to take you seriously? That statement is laughable. Your reaction is understandable, it takes a bit of practice and an analytical mind to see the truth behind statistics, and those more canny can use them to 'prove' or 'show' just about anything to a superficial observer. HOWEVER, the data is clear, around 70% of divorces are initiated by women (both in the USA and the UK). The reason, the moti…

Bad question. Sex once per month, or way too many low-quality partners to have sex every night? Neither of those really appeal. Make it 'relationship with an 8-to-10, or a manageable harem of 5-to-7s', and it's a lot harder to answer. I couldn't, without knowing the girls.

It's a bit more complex, looks will get you in, but won't be enough to keep you there.

For an ELI5, read Starting Strength. It's a book, by Rippetoe. It's not the be-all end-all bible of lifting heavy shit, but it will explain a lot, in an easy language, with pictures. Since we're talking books, after you've read it, while you're doing the routine, read Practical Programming and the 2 Texas Method books, to know what to do once you're done with SS. This isn't a complete list, and only covers the 'lift heavy shit' part of fitness, but should suffice for now.

it's just fucking politics. feminists gonna fem, trp gonna trp, they're both out of balance, but admitting it means giving a point to the enemy. the married guys know what's what, that they can't build and hold a relationship without giving some comfort. just like some women's right activists know that feminism isn't needed anymore in the western world. you try and convince them of that, for the time being at least trp values growing up, taking responsability for your actions, developing your ag…

Get on Starting Strength. Not any beginner program, just go for SS, l earn how to power clean, do the program. This will let you switch to the Texas Method more easily, if you want to stick to lifting. Consider that a beginner program will last 4-8 months, on average... you'll need to think about how to transition to intermediate soon.

Starting Strength is popular and worthwhile, but I personally used GreySkull LP to great effect. Any sane linear progression program would work, I suggest Starting Strength because from there it's easier to switch to the Texas Method. Even then, any intermediate program would work, but the TM books help you modify your intermediate program over time, and that's something you'd need a coach for, otherwise.

50 kg Squat no injuries not acceptable. get your ass on Starting Strength. once you're done go on the Texas Method, then after you've established some maxes there you can think about dieting down, but right now: SS. and some cardio, 1 or 2 days per week, it will do you good.

look up carb backloading for an even more effective carb cycling method (in short: drink milk after working out, that's your carb cycling). it's all about insuline control (milk has some insuline-like factor of its own, it's even more powerful).

Western occultism (both the Wicca and the Golden Dawn varieties, at least) has similar stuff too, white culture isn't exempt from this bullshit, beware.

How long have you been training? Have you ever trained with sets of 5? How is doing 100+ (not including warm up) assorted bench reps better than actually using an heavy weight? I like that you're doing swimming sprints (try running sprints too, they are a great substitute for calf work - hill sprints, if you fear you'll hurt yourself with flat sprints), but really can't agree with the rest. As for the diet: that's great, but fats and carbs have a place too (unless you're trying to diet down fast…

You're spot-on the strength vs hypertrophy thing. On program selection, switch programs sooner than that! once you're stalling hard on SS, switch to the Texas Method, this will happen usually 3-6 months in, somewhere between 2 and 3 plates, for a male. That's just a way to conserve energy: once you're stalling hard (with proper rest and nutrition) you'll feel shitty all the time (and be more at risk of injury while in the rack), a basic intensity/volume fluctuation will let you recover better.

An unfocused regimen will give you unfocused results. And you sound like you want actual results, instead. So, stop working out, start training towards a goal. To bulk up, as a beginner, Starting Strength works wonders, and it's not that long, 4-6 months for most people.

How old are you? What program are you on? If you are relatively young, you could do a program like Starting Strength, with the idea of getting a lot stronger, and a lot heavier, in a short amount of time. You'll still gain fat, it's impossible to avoid, but at least you'll have bigger lifts, it can jump-start your training.

beta guy -> alpha guy this is a movement from a less selfish to a more selfish position. or, from a position where he gives up power over himself, to one where he wields power over himself. slut -> good dependable woman this is more of a taking on responsabilities, accepting consequences for your own actions, and limiting yourself because of them. Two changes, similar in that they are both growth patterns, but different in what they focus on - and accepting increased responsabilities, that socie…

If the boss wasn't an insecure prick, he wouldn't have yelled OR put up with op mouthing off. Since the boss IS an insecure prick, he did both. It would have been unreasonable to expect the boss to act like an insecure prick in one instance and not the other, op was actually reasonable. It's just a shitty part-time job, the definition of entry level. If you want your employees to be good at their job, then you either teach them, or pay more for their experience (like the places that cover cerimo…
