Tracing lineage would be the same though no? Your maiden name came from one of your parents, who got theirs from one of their parents, and so on. No? Or does every woman get the mom's and every man get the dad's?

I also am not a fan of hyphenated names. What happens when your kid gets married to another person with a hyphenated last name, and their baby? But I agree what's the alternative for a compromise? I have a friend who made her last name the baby's middle name, and took last name of the father. That's something I guess (or vice versa). I will say, I love my last name. It's distinctly English, acutely famous and really really uncommon. I will be keeping it. My ex was a minority and he agreed to cha…

Thank you for saying it! I feel like therapy is best for people who really don't know themselves/aren't in tune with their emotions and flaws. I did it as a part of a grief checklist/to manipulate people who worried about me to reassure them I was "getting help". I know myself, my emotions and my boundaries very well. I learn more by reading, case studies (admittedly, reddit posts, but there's no better diversity than that really) and personal experience. And time. I recognize unhealthy behaviou…

Thank you for thinking of your kid. So many of my friends grew up with a string a crappy stepdads and are now dating the same types of men, and their moms still are too. It hurts to watch.

Yes, I am not really going for virtual dates or calls either. I have enough appointments with friends and all this video talk with people to stay social is giving me headaches. Willing to do it to stay in touch with friends, but not strangers. Also, I feel like it ruins the mystique a little bit. No? Nobody looks cute on a webcam for an hour conversation. It freezes in unflattering poses. You talk over each other. I'd rather just casually stay loosely in contact over texting, not every day, just…

You had an emotional affair. That's not a good reflection on you. You also just wrote a ton of excuses about nothing. You need to break up with this guy because you don't like him enough to respect him, and he isn't really a worthy partner anyway. Also seems compatibility is lacking. What's the problem here? It is quite obvious.

Ugh I hate this guy, and what annoys me even more is that people are still fans of his and didn't mind that he was still in the house and find him funny. He's just a dumbass. Sexist trash.

Keeping the streets safe... for predators. This is why we take safety as our highest personal standards and not rely on law enforcement to help us. Gross and disheartening but not surprising.

I've seen this around the sub and it confuses me a bit I have to admit, how else are gay guys supposed to do it? Obviously leaving women out of the conversation here - there is no reason for a woman to do it. I'm just wondering for guys what's the alternative??
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/04/20 07:50 PM
7

Personally I don't. It's usually a signal of vanity. My ex was a body builder and some weeks would be hell for me with his ego. Never again. Not to be confused with active sporty guys, I do love me a lean climber body. But beware the guys who work out in front of a mirror.

I don't think it's fair to talk about her so harshly. At a certain point in my life, if I am still single and aging, I will probably go for younger men too. Why not? It'll be like a hobby, without putting emotions into it and just enjoy it. If he has the energy to raise a puppy for me even better. He sounds naive and she is probably manipulating him a bit. Maybe they deserve each other. But especially now in isolation, I am hating being alone. My phone is blowing up but I don't really care about…

I finally caved and downloaded Tinder, 24hrs before my country suddenly announced lockdown. I take that as a sign from the universe lol. I did talk to a few people from that, but it's just so hard to care about them, cant be arsed to keep a meaningless conversation going. My phone is already blowing up with friends, family and dudes I had like 1-5 dates with in the past decade checking in on me lol

That makes it like 5% better but it's still a ton of needless garbage to behind with... At least one of each letter, multiple vowels or common letters.. there is easily 100 balloons of waste for this silly meme fame.

Seconding what you said! I also have an incredible single father who raised me to have way higher standards than any typical low effort man can offer. My mom straight up walked out on us when I was 4. I know what its like to be given the world by a loving, wonderful man. What would be the point in accepting anything less?? I'm really supposed to take a downgrade? Nah. Of course my dad is irreplaceable but any man I marry better bust his ass 24/7 to try to even come close.

This idea is lovely but he should NOT be inviting people on his bike or into his home. This puts them directly at risk which is what his help is supposed to reduce in the first place. Also, who took the photo? Did he take it and post it himself? I'm sick of the social media groups of people offering to help and.... nobody who needs help is on these Facebook groups. Quietly write letters to your neighbours, offer, whatever. The online virtue signalling is killing me.

My good friend is heavily pregnant and the gov just announced pregnant women can't go for regular checkups now (or some kind of restriction, I dunno, I can't keep up anymore and it's all in German). By sheer luck I found her a retired midwife in another friends building today, close to her place so not needing transit. Shits insane. Also I am trying to tell off everyone sharing those memes about a baby boom in 9 months. This is the WORST TIME to get pregnant. Do not do it!!!

My poor mother was so excited for her 50th birthday a few years ago because she thought she would "finally get taken seriously". Surprise surprise, the attention never stopped magically at 50. Then she decided to take herself seriously! At 55 she's now killing it. PhD, turning down jobs and men left and right, and considering early retirement in order to enjoy her little empire she's built. We were never close as family, but damn if I do not admire her professionally.

I stopped going to therapy for the same reason, although I had started due to extreme grief trauma, not social/romantic, and eventually made to feel like I was wasting the therapists time because I was "better". In fact the therapist constantly tried to change the subject to my dating life which was ridiculous and made me so uncomfortable, it just felt so off topic for what I had come to discuss. Fun fact: I chose my username because I just happened to find its translation in another language to be funny/catchy during the basic vocab class and happened to create my Reddit account that same day. Great timing for this reminder, thanks. I met a guy who is from the same region as me, which is super rare where I live now, as he was travelling through. Met through a common friend he was stopping to visit. We clicked so hard, and the night before he left he was telling me he wished he could cancel his flight, move here to be with me, everything... Haha ok touché. I used the word wrong. I'm 50/50 so I really need people around but I also need me time a lot. So I LOVE when someone sits next to me on the couch and does their own thing. Companionship. As an introvert there is nothing better than coming home to someone you are comfortable with that you can just be "alone together" with. A passive force reminding you you aren't alone. Someone to go out with and vacation with and take up the space on the other side of the table so no one else tries to bother you. To take pictures of you that aren't selfies, to walk the dog, to share costs with, to snuggle when you wake up from a nightmare at 3am. And that is just the comforts and …

Haha, scientifically I know that, but in the moment I just think like dude slow your roll! I'd rather he have the decency to hide it than just expect me to not mind it I usually have him take his pants off and grind while making out. You will definitely be able to feel his dick size. This can lead to sex. This is the problem. I don't want to go this far because it's harder to backtrack (by that point I might want it too, physically, and overtake my rational side). He can't help this issue, and things would be great otherwise, so I don't like the idea of dumping him in with the shitty guys who really deserve to be dumped or called out or ghosted. Thanks, I'm being made to feel like I'm crazy for wanting to be satisfied! It's not even about attraction. The dick is a functional tool, I don't care what it looks like, colours and scars and whathaveyou, but it has to reach a certain spot for me to enjoy it!

Why would you say that? Nothing matters in the end. Am I not entitled to enjoy something that I want while I can? Why should I subject him to a life of me being disappointed when there are women like you out there who would be more than happy with what he offers? Sex is actually more important to me than perfection in other areas. Ideally everything would be great obviously, but I'd make far more emotional sacrifices than physical as I am already happy on my own and could and have kept emotional…

Thanks for your perspective. Sex is extremely important to me. I was with a crazy insecure ex for a year but he was massively hung and although we were a total mismatch the sex was off the charts and constant. Now I am single and fine, but I was more generally happy when I had good sex on tap in a bad, trustless relationship. Settling with a guy who doesn't satisfy me would be unfair to him, I'd always crave more.

I wish there was a way to pre-subpoena photos like that from a person you are concerned about. Call the police, they get a warrant to come erase all files, and done ? No criminal records involved, no false accusations, doesn't matter if the guy is a good one or not, just a healthy "delete warrant" and be done. Of course, police only exist to react to damage done, not prevent it..

I would maybe agree with telling her, but would say it facts-only. If she's interested then she'll just hear the part she likes and twist the parts she doesn't back to him to make you the villain so he gets over you faster. No point putting your moral values out there, just say it seems like he wants to pursue both of you and that's not your style so you're removing your horse from the race.

Almost all the content here would be downvoted to oblivion in the relationship subs and I would look at such a comment and give it a lone upvote against the -52 or whatever and think "is what she's saying really so bad?". I'm not at the point of agreeing with the hard-liners just yet, but I see the wisdom behind what they say, and it gives me food for thought. It's so nice to be challenged in a positive space so I can think about it and consider all sides, …

I block every guy I see on bumble that I've already spoken to before or know in real life, but on bumble it's just "block and report". Am I getting these innocent guys banned? It's mainly like colleagues and stuff I hope won't see me

I once saw my married friend in a bumble profile, literally in her wedding dress with her husband on their wedding day, with one of the groomsmen off to the side. Guess whose profile it was! Bride was not happy when I sent her a screenshot of that, the groomsman probably got quite an earful from them. So rude to put others in your profile without asking. Especially children, jeez!

What does it say about me that I hardly recognise any of these recommendations? I thought I'd come in here and be like, ohhh yeah true that character really is an FDS woman! Is it really just that rare in popular stuff? Was Fleur Delacour a HVW? Mulan? Pacha from Emporer's New Groove must certainly have been HVM Summer from the OC? Im blanking on rom coms, surely there must be at least one Help!

Ugh, I watched that on Netflix right up until the first actual rape because it was already getting too much for me so I read "emotional spoilers" and decided I couldn't watch that. Ruined the whole show for me! I never watch scripted television anymore, writers' imaginations are too fucked up nowadays. Sorry off topic rant there but that show really pissed me off. I trusted it!! Scuse me I'm sticking with Love Island from now on to hear Scottish accents.

I think you are starting to go into deep anxiety over this topic and you should be careful about spiralling here. You know this can't be true of all men. Some men, way more men than acceptable, but not all. Not even all LVM. Take a breather OP, maybe take a break from whatever research you're doing. I was raised by an incredible single father and he never hurt me. He raised me in fact to naturally adopt FDS without even knowing it, everything that is touted here I've always naturally done anyway…

But by the time I marry someone I'm sure I'll hopefully have vetted him well enough by then for that not to be the case. It goes for all derrière activity as well, nothing till I'm married. So I could always downplay it as well if I never want to go full monty.

Same. It slipped and I screamed and ran to the bathroom dripping blood. He stood outside the door panicking and asking what happened. (I genuinely think it was an accident, we were in lazy doggy position in the dark and I readjusted while he kept going and...pain.) Unrelated, a while later he treated me to a Bahamas vacation. He was sweet but a commitmentphobe so I ended it in the middle of the vacation and made the rest of the trip hell for him. Was a year ago and he still comes back to my inbo…

I always say I'm saving it for marriage lol! The hilarious thing is that men give me a ton of respect for that and leave the topic be. One ex got really jealous (of my hypothetical future husband) when I broke up with him knowing he won't get to be the one!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/02/20 07:30 AM

If you don't believe in marriage for example it's fine. The point is more that if you want to get married and he is holding out on proposing, it's probably not going to happen. If you're both happy without the paper there are other ways to display commitment.

What about taking up a male dominated career or hobby? I joined a special interest gym hoping to meet someone and instead got a bit fit and found someone on OLD haha. because of course as soon as I tried a new strategy something else worked out ish. Aww, "a refuge". That's nice wording. That's what I hope I am to my female friends and aspire to be. I'm not enough content as a whole sub, and you don't know me personally, but I somehow take pride in hearing I'm part of a community that provided a refuge to someone during something shitty. Ahhh agreed on Peeta. I always rooted for him and had no idea why anyone shipped Gale! Peeta was so dreamy and kind, while Gale just offered drama. In that vein, who else from YA novels was HVM? Arthur Weasley yes James Potter no, Snape also no? was Fleur delacour a HVW? what's the consensus on Jacob and Edward? Both no? I'm having a hard time thinking of more at the moment but would be interested in hearing more examples!

Ehh I tried this with a guy 5 years younger than me (I'm late twenties) and while I enjoyed the relationship, his insecurity was off the charts. I was constantly walking on eggshells and it was exhausting and he would always accuse me of wishing he was older/thinking of leaving for an older man. He treated me like a queen and I never once doubted him, but the emotional babysitting was too much to handle.

Will add the caveat that mutual ghosting should be ok after a date. Like if you both kinda drop off texting and neither bothers to write again, no harm no foul. If one is still hanging on though then yes it's kinder to give a short reason

Fair point! Absolutely. Anecdotally, there seems to be a higher than typical percentage of women that specifically prefer short men here. Huh that's really interesting! I wonder if they tend to put more effort into relationships due to this "handicap"

Thanks for this. Im new here and was thinking, do they think there's something inherently wrong with short men (akin to unemployed or whatever)? But ok no it's just some entitled attitudes. Agreed the fpua sub sucks, and this one needs more material for women. Ok so there's 2 ways. 1 is straight up go for it which is cool but he might be suspicious. 2 is let him think it's his idea. Let him catch you looking at him, find your way into his general proximity, ask him "what the hell song is this, I swear I know it but I can't remember the name and it's killing me" and then cheers him with solid eye contact, ie slowly bolder moves. Bit harsh to judge a woman's character in the setting of her having a shield up against intruders. I think you're fine, bud. There are plenty of paths to success. Yours may be a little harder, just because it's a little "different", but if it leads you to a woman who actually makes you happy instead of always anxious about The Texting Rules then who cares? Go find her! As long as it's give and take like I said, which it seems to be, then you're fine. Don't read this sub too much haha, the "rules" will overwhelm you.

Or worse, live a lie indefinitely just to not scare her off?? Maybe start slow so as to not bombard her, but work your way up to it and see how she responds. No disagreement here. I view that as a coping strategy however... is it better to end a relationship at the first sign of problems (and always wonder if time couldve healed it) or to wait until it's really gone to shit and know you're not making a rash decision? Obviously different cases will yield different results but I try not to begrudge people who are trying to get over their SO before they've even ended it. Breaking up is never easy.

More like, replacements are always orbiting around her. When she's freshly single all she has to do is start paying attention and someone will work his way out of the friendzone first. Girl here, I never give my Facebook to new guys. It's easier to remain relatively anonymous if things don't work out, I can just delete his number. But the thought of him potentially saving a photo of me on Facebook before I unfriend him creeps me out too much.

No, you did the right thing. Its hard and will keep being hard but don't try to convince her to stay. If it's meant to be things will work out someday. I almost never accept cold approaches unless I'm exceptionally drunk or maybe new in a city and trying to meet people and then I might give out my number. Also girl here: I agree more with OP. My main reasons for flaking are a) a prior engagement or b) I like another guy better. I might not even be on his radar let alone be choosing a date with him over you but if there's a guy on my mind then I won't feel like going out with someone else. I might entertain the notion by giving out my number but if the new guy doesn't distract me enough I will probably flake. Your next step OP would be to become that #1 guy on my mind. Being attractive helps but I…

Are you saying girls who go to regular clubs are cock teases just for being there but maybe not wanting to hook up with anybody??
/r/seduction11/04/13 05:14 PM

As a waitress, I'd do the first run-over if I wasnt busy (and add that dollar to the total tip, otherwise I'd feel about thisbig) but if you expect me to be your little note passer the entire game I would probably kill you. And if a guy started this while I was out at another restaurant, I'd laugh and play along but would deliver it back myself if I was interested. Don't hassle the poor server :(
/r/seduction12/03/13 06:09 AM

Eh, I wouldn't pick up. I use skype to talk to my parents only. I set aside an hour for each with no distractions. A guy skyping me to set up plans seems arrogant, like he expects me to drop everything to stare at his face and talk to it for a while. I'd just avoid it altogether.

Whenever I hear this I always appreciate it nonetheless. If it comes from a creep I'll still smile and say thanks, and leave quickly but its still nice to hear. If its from a cool guy, then I'll happily engage in some conversation. Even if I'm not interested, we can give each other a little boost of self esteem that way. And no, I don't have low self esteem.

One comment- don't physically pick up a girl wearing a skirt. If she's really into you she won't say anything, but its still an asshole thing to do. She'll be more focused on not flashing everybody than the moment with you.

No. If anything, maybe a single flower from one of those vendors always walking around selling roses for a euro or whatever if you see one when you're with her. Anything more than that would be too cheesy for a first date.

Unfortunately this is one of those shit tests that are virtually impassable. You can say something witty but it's not going to change her mind (usually). Girls who are bothered by age are fairly inflexible when it comes to that (otherwise they wouldn't mention it, or it would be clear on their face that they are teasing you- in that case you might have a chance), so the best you can do is just move on to the next. Don't lie and pretend to be older though. Also, you will probably have more luck w…

No it doesn't, not by the examples he listed. Fishing for compliments would be saying things like "I cut my hair yesterday, it looks sooo bad." or "ugh I feel so gross today"... or the like. Those sound more lighthearted, like she's fishing for some banter. If he responded with, "actually I don't believe that stereotype, I bet you're a great driver" that would sound stupid. What she wants him to say is probably "Ha, what would you do without me" or something. She's flirting OP, go for it!

Oops,my bad, thought that was a comma. That sucks a lot. In Canada it's almost worth it because I'll pay less than 15 grand for my entire degree at a good school. Pales in comparison.

Could've been a new number, or if OP lives in Europe that's understandable because our numbers are long as fuck. I think you assessed her spot on though. What if college is just a waste of your time? as a web developer, I've found that college truly HAS been a waste of my time, professionally. socially, mentally, and physically Really, socially? I took a gap year and felt my social life crumble. Finally got to uni and my life really perked up. This is a little off topic though, that just stood out to me. 4th year uni actually. Like I said, it wasn't his intelligence that attracted me to him in the first place, but now that I know its there, I'm really impressed. Intelligence is sexy if he has other attractive qualities. I doubt many people go for a man on the sole premise that he's smart. Don't quote me on that, but that's my take on it.

Wow, I'm sorry it happens to you so often. Its just common courtesy to let the other person know at least before they leave their house, at least! I think some people justify it if they thought you were going as a group so you wouldn't be left on your own though. Its one thing for someone not to show up to an event you conveyed you'd already be attending regardless, but if it was a one-on-one thing than that's just rude. But... Isn't that what this sub is about too? You bash women for hypergamy when they're young and hot, and wanting to settle down later, yet how is a guy constantly "pumping and dumping" any different? It's nice of you to consider her feelings. Part of me thinks you shouldve told her before anything happened but nothing kills the mood faster than "just this once, right?", but if you dropped enough hints hopefully it won't come as a surprise when you do tell her.

I don't think that's a fair statement. The first part may be true, but there are plenty of men that I do not love who I have nothing bad to say about. Men I hate, on the other hand, aren't going to have many redeeming qualities in my mind. But to apply to all men that I don't love takes it too far.

I agree with being indifferent. The biggest red flag is when a person talks shit about their ex. Though I disagree you can't be friends. Just not at first. It's not unreasonable, a hot nice guy. Remember, some of the guys who said that are probably the ones doing field reports on the so-called fun/smart/nice HB10s and what not, total double standard in my eyes. Go get your kind HG10 :)

Since you did meet at church camp, I'd agree that you should keep it innocent like that. (no clubbing/ bars) but make sure you don't remind her of your age difference either. You don't want he telling her friends you were the kid who gave her juice boxes on the date lol. Sparkling drinks would be a better replacement. Eat at a picnic table to save bringing an old blanket that might be called cute, and load up your iPod and bring portable speakers if you can with some nice music. As long as it lo…

I agree with this. I'm a girl, and when I like a guy, I won't tell him but I will show him through my actions. I know seddit frowns upon texting, but that's generally the best way to break the ice, I find. Something as simple as adding a ;) to an otherwise innocent statement can get the ball rolling. Lame but effective. Or say you'll be at the same party- ask him about the formality of the event by asking how you should dress. He'll either say look casual/dressy/x, or tell you specifically that …

Ha, wow! Well, in the case of a specific person I think you might find better advice in r/dating. Seddit is more for seducing anyone in general not one particular person, I think. Your situation seems a little hopeless to me though, unless there's a solid plan for when you'll see him again. Its really hard to convey much through screens. Maybe skype or call him? You could also try r/longdistance, they're good at these situations.

This makes me so happy to read. I'd respect any guy who told me straight up that it's a no-strings-attached deal, and then not mind if walk away if I want to. I hate when a guy lies to me that we could have something more when really I'm interchangeable with any other girl to him. It's happened, and it's the worst feeling ever. At least be honest before anything major happens. I'm glad to hear not all PUAs are like that though. Thanks for restoring my faith a little bit :)

Is this a long distance girlfriend or someone who you want to hook up with next time you see? What's the relationship here?

Only works if you're both getting on at the same stop though. Alternatively, if you follow her off you could maybe strike up a conversation more naturally too. Although, I'm a girl and I loathe being hit on on the metro. If I ever accidentally make eye contact with a guy, I'll quickly avert my eyes, turn around, fiddle with my phone, etc. Maybe sometimes after a few seconds curiousity gets the best of me and I'll take a peak to see if he's still looking, and if he is and our eyes meet again, I'l…

Get a male roommate. I'm a girl and have always lived with girls, but this summer I'm living with a guy from craigslist and he is possibly the best roommate I've ever had. Keeps to himself, is clean, shares his rum. When he has girls over I stay in my room or if they see me we'll make small talk and then I'll disappear. When I have guys over he will never mention one to the other and will offer them his weed. Of course, you need a guy who will be cool and nonchalant and you can have a talk about…

Wow that edit is a quite a bomb, I would say that's probably why it happens, if from afar you look hot and closeup they can tell you were a man...many people won't want to experiment there. Otherwise, all I can think of, do you have a really grating/annoying laugh? That can be an instant turn off too. But it is probably the penis thing.

Okay. Well I think you should go with what the others are saying and escalate. If you're very flirty already guys probably won't think much of it but the further you take it it'll slowly get into their heads that you're trying to give them a signal. Like cuddling during a movie, holding hands when navigating a crowd, give them longer hugs than usual, stuff like that should get into their heads. Its subtle enough if you don't want to put it all out there at once.

Wait, is OP a guy or a girl? How exactly does friendship become a brolationship when you try? That still sounds like a step up but on the wrong ladder, I suppose. Can you clarify that? The image in my head is that you try to tell them you want something more and they give you a fist bump and assume you meant more food. What exactly do you do when you "try"?

Do you live in a big city? This might sound weird, but I moved from a tiny coastal town to one of the biggest cities in the country and in my tiny town, men are huge and burly without even trying. I find that crazy hot. In the city though, most guys have to work out hard just to fill out a medium/large shirt and tend to not be very tall. This is one of the most multicultural cities in the world and maybe the global average is for a guy to be size S/M and less than 6" but that is pretty unusual i…

I've had that same problem a few times in the past year. Either the guy I was excited about would disappear, or I'd lose interest quickly in a guy who seemed really into me. But I think what really happened was that I wasn't ready for anything serious (wasn't ready to move on from the last time) and so I was unconsciously putting that vibe out there. So the guys who liked me liked chasing me, and then conversely I'd get too needy with the guys I thought I liked- trying to fill the boyfriend gap …

I think they want what they can't have to a certain extent, like a bit of push and pull for a while. But if that continues on forever and the man never relents to give her more attention (like in terms of a LTR) then the woman will get frustrated and give up on him. There are the exceptions who want to be on the chase forever but they ruin it for the girls who want a challenge that can actually be won. But too much confidence can also be a turnoff, you need a good balance. Otherwise you fall int…

ah, well no harm meant. I'm 21, but I think if I went back to a guy's house and he played that for me I'd make fun of him but I guess it's something she can tease you about so it's not always a bad thing. ;)

Can I ask how old you are? Most of these are great songs, but it sounds more like a wedding reception than a date night... EDIT: I don't know how these are classified but I always go with bands like- Modest Mouse The Pixies (Where is my Mind) Kings of Leon hey Rosetta The Killers (first album) MGMT The Shins Yeah Yeah Yeahs Simon and Garfunkel ...you get the point. Soft rock mixed with really cool beats basically. Some stuff to be easily recognized with some less common stuff.

Bite your tongue! But yes, I can vouch for this too. If I don't get kissed on the first date I assume he's either not into me, just wants to be friends, or is too shy to ever make a move which is not very attractive either.

Nooo, you are focusing on the wrong part. It's not that you called them cute, but that you implied that something is so wrong with their personalities that not even their looks can save them, hence no boyfriends. You made it sound like, "you're cute and single? So what's wrong with you!?"
/r/seduction05/07/12 08:21 PM

Well, now that you ask I don't really have a good answer, except it's kind of boring. It doesn't make for a good story or anything, just very predictable and doesn't make you stand out from other guys who've gone the same route. Plus there isn't much room for conversation, so you're denying yourselves the chance to get to know each other a little better and form a deeper emotional connection (if that's what you're looking for).

Whoa, so glad this is for bringing girls home for dates and NOT for courting your female family members. I'd say, have a nice playlist (silence can be awkward) in the background, and maybe a specific activity planned like taking your dog for a walk, cook something together, playing video games if you're into that, or watching a movie (though I don't recommend that one). Then you're not totally depending on conversation to carry the night.

Sounds like you did everything right. Just make sure she knows your intentions before you f-close. If she thinks this is the start of something she could get really hurt, so do both of you a favour and make sure you're on the same page to keep things casual.

She doesn't seem like much of a texter. This is a clear signal you should probably just call her, or just send her a text saying when and where you want to see her again. Once it's confirmed, leave it at that till the day of and then call her to let her know it's still on. Some girls just don't like texting and it slips their minds, but I wouldn't say she's not into you. Just readjust your strategy for contacting her.

Don't do it! A guy I had been getting to know did that to me before we were even Facebook friends and it was an instant turn off.. Who does that anymore! Also a guy I haven't seen or spoken to in years did it the other day and I have no idea what I'm supposed to do about it so I just ignored it. It's just a creepy euphemism at worst, pussy way of initiating at best.

Since you already told her you would text, don't not! Just say something like you're going to sleep/out whatever, hope she had a good day, looking forward to seeing her again. That ends the conversation before it starts and you don't look like a dick.

Yeah, what's so bad about having a couple of female friends? Posts like these make me sad. I'm a girl, and I've always gotten along better with guys than girls. Some of the best friends I've ever had were guys. When they get girlfriends they seek my advice/ approval and vice versa. And in the end we're always there for each other. It'd break my heart to know they'd only been my friend to sleep with me and in actuality didn't give a shit about me as a person. Makes you feel very small to find out…

This happened to me once, a regular at my restaurant is constantly complimenting me (and he's gotta be like 50 years older than me), and once he asked me how old I am. I said 21, and he said, "oh nevermind, too old for me". It was hilarious but obviously he never got anything out of it. Still comes round and compliments me though. I'm not sure how anyone could pull that off but its pretty funny anyway, it'll make her smile at least.

Passive-aggressiveness is the worst. You definitely came out on top in that situation. He probably does have thing for your girlfriend, but if it comes down to it I don't think you have anything to worry about, girls prefer confidence.

Haha, well, back when I was learning German I thought the translation was hilarious- "die Gurke" (the combination of "die" and then "gurk" being a choking noise to my English brain), so obviously 15 year old me made it my username for everything, but 6 years later it has evolved back to English because no one understood it. so um, tl;dr, it's basically an inside joke with myself. I'm cool like that ;) EDIT: Why do you ask?

You can avoid the whole smoking issue by just asking her if she wants to go get some air. I'm a girl and my voice does not carry well over loud music and it really frustrates me in clubs when people try to have conversations for that reason, but if I do want to talk to them a bit I'll always just say I need some air and we'll chill outside for a bit. It does get really hot/stuffy in clubs anyway so it's a legitimate excuse. I think your smoking excuse if you don't smoke would be awkward.

I hate being asked. If its a guy I don't want to kiss I'll just dodge it (its easy to play off as a cheek kiss or you were didn't notice and got distraced and turned your face.. Still better than saying ummm no thank you) and if its a guy I do want to kiss and he asks first it takes the spontaneity out of the moment. I'd much rather they just go for it.

If you have to ask, you will probably sound needy. If she's a nice girl she might feel bad and respond something like, of course not! But she could easily be lying to spare your feelings. You're better off figuring it out on your own by seeing how enthusiastic she is in her responses or how long she takes to text back. If she takes a really long time to respond and doesn't give a reason, and especially if that responses is only a "lol" or something short, you are probably suffocating her a littl…

I think its true, I never consciously considered it before but whenever a guy I have no interest for asks me to hang out I always make sure its in the day time. I actually did that just today! I was home by 6. That said, guys I do like I still like to see in the day, but I won't make excuses not to see them later on either. And if I can't make up a good excuse not to, I'll invite more people along so it's clear it's not a date.

This. As a girl, this is the best way for someone to ask my number. I hate being put on the spot by someone just saying give me your number, and I can't ever bring myself to put a fake one, so I give it and when he texts me I'll ignore it or give some excuse. But save us both the trouble by scoping out if she's actually interested in seeing you again in the first place, and then you'll have a legit reason to ask her number. And if you can't make a solid plan with her, don't ask the number, and y…
