Yeah, that's great and all, but why accept the engagement mindlessly? Why is it the end goal? How do you know that you can trust him all your life after one year of dating? How many men we heard about who turned out to be abusers/fetishists/just plain old shitheads etc. in a few years? We care so much about the ring we are willing to go too fast. With certain celebrities it's still pickme behaviour, it's just pick me for marriage.

The only issue I have with this post is wasn’t Demi Lovato super young when they first started dating? I know Wilmer was a lot older which is a problematic in itself, but I think Demi was 18. I have no idea how old Wilmer’s current fiancee is, but Demi should not have been getting engaged after six months at 18-19 years old. Although their relationship still should’ve ended a lot sooner than it did.
