This was so so good. Thank you for writing this. I've had a reoccurring thought in my head that a mediocre life is my biggest fear. I'm 33 and getting married in Novemeber. All I can think/obsess over is how do I create a life that is not mediocre.

I would say this goes more against an entire ceremony than marriage itself

It took me a long time to he completely honest but no, 80 percent of my twenties wasn't worth. it was complete chaos. there were some genuine times but a lot of it was booze filled with puss poor decisions racking up student loans. u guess I've been in the depressive elaine for a year realizing the consequences of my actions. life has been getting better but I catch myself all the time thinking about different situations and saying to myself, what the fuck was I thinking? why was I so insecure a…

Damn. I spent my 20s making all these mistakes. I'm now in the process of unplugging but I feel like it takes years. I have to relearn all new habits. it's crazy. thank you for your response.

right on man. You taking the time to read and write all this out is great. posting details is definitely something I should work on more, which is ironic because I'm an engineer. In the past I always looked for the quick fix. I've been working on this more than anything in my life. I've read no more Mr. nice guy, have read some in the side bar and currently reading the rationale male. It has really helped me and I've fucked up enough where I want to get things right the first time. The biggest c…

I really appreciate you taking the time to look at previous posts/comments. No therapist didn't suggest it. I've been back to college a couple times, I'm 33 so I'm not really fresh out of college sport of speak. I agree that I have a long ways to go and a lot of reading to do.

you bring up really good points. yes, she is phenomenal with money. Very fiscally conservative. She hardly ever parties with her friends and her free time is spent mostly with family. We cook dinner five times a week. she hardly drinks and doeant do any drugs. major check boxes for me. When I finally took the red pill I was a drunk and flat broke. her and I met soon after so shes seen me grow and grow continually. she says that's her favorite part about me. I understand that I will have to do th…

Firstly, Thank for taking the time to get a better understanding. I am not under the mindset that marriage is for life. We both are going into this with the idea that we have our specific roles. She has said to me that she wants me to be the leader of our family. For context, she makes about twice as much as I do and I make good money. and she comes from a much wealthier family that I do. So I know shes not in it for the money. I'm not saying I'm some ultra alpha dude. I believe, based on a lot …

It took me 31 years to figure this out...my story is the exact same....i look back and cringe so bad sometimes. I once told my best friends lady that he should treat her better! I look back now and just hang my head in shame that I said that. But I dont ruminate because i was a product of a major blue pill mother/father dynamic. I'm so thankful that the end of my blue pill ways ended with a nervous breakdown. It was the spark I needed which led me down the path of trp and ultimately has shown me…

My uncle said it best....you're either spending your time or investing your time. He's one of the most red pulled guys I know. He's the one that pulled me out of blue pill by smacking me in the face.

I think it depends what you want. If you want kids and have a good set up....no need to throw it away to go have fun and improve. All that can be done whilst in a relationship. It's all about keeping it in perspective. But if you dont want kids then your are free to do whatever.

The exact same situation happened to my dad. Although it was for different circumstances....he was fired for basically being too conservative and wouldn't curtail the school to please everyone.

Thank you or writing this. I was stuck in the anger phase for ten plus years....ten years! I never had an epiphany moment. It was constant struggle until I became brutally honest with myself and my interactions. That's when I started to feel peace. The red pill has been part of that for me. As well as you, my relationship with my girlfriend has improved to where I never thought it could be. Empathy is a great word, because I see it everywhere and try to practice it. It's a state of mind that is …

Your honest opinion, how does this guy live with himself. What do you think is going on psychologically with someone like this....I can't wrap my head around it.

Man, I tell my live in girlfriend this but it has negative consequences. Like "you don't love me for who I am". When she's eating something unhealthy and I say maybe you shouldn't eat that because you're trying to loose weight, she flips it on me and says you don't think I know it's unhealthy (and she still eats it). I do love her but her attitude is putting a big wedge between.
