Yeah, I know it's unpopular for women to comment here, but as a relatively attractive one, back when I was dating (I'm married now) I went on multiple dates with men who were hyper-successful. Multiple types of doctors (surgeons to Phds), various races, usually mid/late 20s-early 30s (I was early-mid 20s). The one thing that was a consistent turn off about men with potentially high-earning careers (docs and lawyers especially) is that they tried to wow me with money. Perhaps it is because I was …

As a woman, I completely agree. OP seems very impressed with himself/his standing in life. I wonder if, on those dates, he tried to impress women by talking about his successes and, instead, turns them off. It would turn me off. So would that flexing beach pic-- it screams "I want attention!"

ehhhh. I think it really depends on the woman/the context/how into you she already is/how into her you are/tons of other things. I do agree that if you don't know her very well giving a random gift is odd. I would feel uncomfortable if I barely knew a guy and he got me a gift. That being said, as mentioned elsewhere, a little "saw this and thought of you" from someone I was already interested in/had gone on a date with was very well received.

Not all people looking to seduce are trying to be PU artists. I'd wager a bet that a significant portion of people here are, like OP, trying to figure out how to win over someone they have a crush on.

hmmm. Well, you know her better than anyone else here. A few dudes who are on a subreddit (which is centered around helping dudes with no game) aren't who I'd listen to. haha. If you think she'd like flowers, go for it. If you're worried they might make things seem more serious than you're intending, maybe save it for a third date. Are you familiar with the 5 love languages-- the 5 ways people show and feel loved? It seems like your gut is to show affection by doting little gifts here and there.…

As a girl: if flowers are something you've talked about and you know what type of flower she likes, go for it. It's thoughtful/sweet if it's something you've talked about in the past. Like, if you know she likes tulips, a few tulips with a "saw these while I was getting groceries and remembered you liked them" would be really nice. Avoid roses unless she says she likes them. Hydrangeas wilt when out of water. I went out with a guy who brought me a book on the Romanov's because I'd mentioned how …

As of 2016 the WHO estimates that 35% of women have experienced "either physical and/or sexual intimate partner violence or non-partner sexual violence in their lifetime. Even with the 1/3 number, it "most likely" won't happen. 2 our of three women are safe. But these numbers are far from acceptable.

you'd be better off asking this in /r/askwomen. Honestly, it just depends on the woman, the place, the time of day, and the man in question. For me, I probably think about it on a bi-weekly basis. When I'm in an elevator alone with someone. When I'm by myself walking somewhere and a dude starts walking behind me. When someone pops out of an alley and asks me an inane question "What time is it?" "Where are you going?" "Wanna come sit with me?" etc. There have been a few times I was certain I was …

I mean, I'm a very happily married woman. I most definitely hang around seddit for this shit; it's comically bad and endlessly entertaining. I can't wait for my husband to get home so I can tell him to strap on some fairy wings, and be my playful lover-- that I'm his lioness in need of crucifixion and his absolution-giving-dick. His face is going to be priceless.

Dude, my whole argument is to be careful not to use people. It's being sensitive to the fact that having sex with person A in order to get over person B is a type of use, it's treating them like a tool instead of like a person. We shouldn't use people like tools to benefit our own emotional healing.
/r/seduction24/02/16 05:41 AM
1

Perhaps you should take your own wise council- people deal with things differently. All we can do is offer our own experiences. My experience is that people who are still pining after their ex don't really enjoy sex with new people. They tend to feel dirty and shameful afterwards, especially when it's really soon after a break up.
/r/seduction24/02/16 05:19 AM
1

And I'm speaking through mine. Most people need more than a week to grieve and process their emotions after a relationship that lasted 1/4 their life ends. A few months? Maybe he could go test waters, meet some new people, etc. But I don't know anyone who spent that long with someone then began fucking other people a week later who didn't hate themselves afterwards. I use the term "using" because that's what it is. When two emotionally stable people bang, all is good. But when someone is fucking…

Having a few drinks is something most people in their early 20s do with friends. Going out and letting loose is a typical weekend night for most barely-legals. It's a lot less harmless than using people for sex in order to get over your ex. He's only been single a week. Have you ever been through a break up this serious? I mean, we all handle it differently, but I don't know anyone who's hopped in the sack with someone else soon after a break up and not regretted it. I was cheated on by my ex, a…

This isn't just some girl he's been liking for a few months. This is a girl he's spent 1/4 his life caring for. Fucking other women will likely make him feel dirty and like a cheater. It won't fix anything, and using some else for purely personal gain is the behavior of a questionable person. 0/10 do not suggest. Give it time, OP. Getting under someone else won't make your love for your ex go away. Go to the gym. Delete her from facebook. Hang out with friends. Drink too much and uber home. Only…

I don't know how you could even think I was talking down about people who have many sexual partners. That's pretty much the opposite of my comment. Of course no one has to say explicitly how many people they've slept with, most people my age have a general ballpark idea, not exact knowledge of the number. However, I think it is important to disclose how many people you've slept with simply because it could be a deal breaker for someone. Me only having a few partners has been a deal breaker in th…

I'm a 27 year old woman, I can count my partners on one hand. I dated a guy who'd been with over 100 women, and who had an std. The reason I dated him was because he was upfront an honest with me long before we were in the sack. He mentioned it casually, "before I keep flirting with you, you should know I've been with a lot of women and also have herpes. I don't want this to escalate and for you to feel like you've been lied to." It was that simple. I greatly appreciated his honesty and transpar…

It depends entirely on the girl. There is no hivemind that all girls ascribe to. Some girls like the challenge of a player. Some girls don't. A lot of it has to do with age, priorities, and culture. Personally, I've never been into guys with multiple women interests. I know my value, and I wouldn't play bullshit games with someone casting a wide net while trolling the shallows. The men I'm attracted to are far more selective in their choice of women. Just like I'm selective in my choice of men.

Maybe in some circles, but certainly not when it comes to finding a partner. Additionally, I don't think they really "saw through Bullshit". They became consumed by work. They let their careers become their identity. They didn't draw healthy boundaries. If anything, they were trapped in a world of Bullshit because they never had the self-awareness to say, "no, I have to go to Christmas with my family since I haven't been the past 5 years." Or "no, I can't stay late." Because they had a date. Wor…

Assuming you want a woman a similar age to your own (within a decade), seek out places where established women go. Houses of worship, volunteering places (salvation army, tutoring centers, etc), wine crawls ($50+ entry to weed out the young/broke riff-raff), art crawls, meetme groups, activity groups. The symphony/shows. I'm not sure what you mean by older, but if you're a baby boomer-ish, many women get divorced and go back to school. Take a class at a local university (if you are interested in…

Where surprised when you meet shallow people anywhere. The great majority of people are shallow. It's why we, as a culture, eat up TV and movies and all sorts of bullshit to distract us from actually thinking about anything of substance. We entertain ourselves to death, and give ourselves no time to develop and to grow. We don't know WHO we are, only what we do, what we like, what we don't like, what we find enjoyable, etc. We are a shallow culture. As humans have been for millennia. We are goin…

This hits the nail on the head. OP seems super negative and like the type of person who focuses on the worst parts of the situation. I think you may be overselling the situation a bit. There's a trend among many women, myself included, to compliment men. Forgive the tangent, but I hope explaining is helpful. :). Our society has made it a norm for women to receive praise for what they look like and men to receive praise for what they do. I think it sucks. My fiance is hot. Like, he's stupid hot. The thing is, it isn't consistent. Because everybody has different tastes, there's no way that every scale is the same; therefore, in and of itself, it's inconsistent. Like I said multiple times, the scale is just as useful as adverbs and adjectives. Edit- by your logic, the necessity of the scale is you have everybody on the same page. This means that using adjectives and adverbs would in fact be more consistent, since they have a definition and can be agreed upon

/r/seduction13/07/15 06:57 PM

I disagree. Too often things like "hot body 9" are thrown around this sub. It's a clear rating system based on purely physical attraction on a specific scale of how fit/pretty someone is. Sure, some people are objective and relate it to them. I just don't see why we need a scale when you could just say "she was so so hot". If your argument is that its subjective, then just describing the girl as attractive should be enough. There's no need for the scale.
/r/seduction13/07/15 04:48 PM
-1

And dehumanizing them into categories and rating those categories. I don't understand why we can't say things like, "a really hot chick" or "a Christina Hendricks body double" or "cute girl". It's all the same and is far kinder and less objectifying. No woman worth her salt wants to be rated on a scale.

And still be an attractive person. In fact, confident and self assured people are by far the most attractive. They don't have to play games or act tough to compensate for insecurity. No one is arguing that people, regardless of gender, like or dislike casual sex. The argument is that you think using someone is okay. You sound like some redpill buffoon. Emotional reaction has far more to do with personality type than gender or sex. The fact that you think of women as being emotional and men as be…

I'm not twisting your words at all. You said, " He can always use her as a resource to try new things sexually. He may be low in sexual experiences and wants to try / learn new things or just gain a bit more confidence in his moves." This is "using" someone. It may not be what you meant to say, but it's what you did say.

I never said "get some standards". My comment has nothing to do with what standards do or do not exist, but rather that Youre talking about a human being, one of the most complex and interesting things on the planet, like she is no more valuable than any sort of tool one would pick up and discard. it's dehumanizing.

First, congratulations on your awesome new confidence! That's great, I hope you continue to approach, be nice, make connections, etc. One thing from a chick's perspective. I'm 26, pretty cute, and talk to many men often. I walk around smiling and, due to personal convictions, have made it my personal goals to compliment people daily- especially men, because for some reason it's socially deemed okay for men to never be complimented. this is bullshit in my opinion. Anyways. If an average looking d…

Hopefully a non-pua woman's perspective is welcome! If you're getting dates you're probably socially competent and kind. Those are good first steps. The next is figuring out what you want out of your dates. It seems to me you're looking for something deeper, and if that's the case, you need to figure out what sort of depth. My bf was looking for a woman who shared his love of literature, philosophical conversion and similar life views. I fit the bill, and he fit mine (I wanted someone sincere, i…

You keep it because these trophy fucks validate your emotions in some way. You've turned women into nothing but numbers to add to your collection. I've never been attracted to a man because he was in a relationship. It's actually a turn off for most women I've spoken to about it (dozens). We have noticed that men tend to feel more, and act more confident after they've hooked a girl, and that confidence is attractive. So i really don't think it's the "I want him because she has him" mentality that's prevalent, but rather "oh he is super confident and comfortable in his own skin, that's hot". I could be wrong, but having discussed this exten…

Thanks for the thorough reply! I can't help but to say it, but I have to address something you said, "most women have a really hard time understanding [about relationships being hard work]. I have to disagree slightly: most people lack that understanding. We live in a very self centered world in which we've been fed entitlement bullcrap. I think you perhaps looked into what the dude was saying, or perhaps it just struck a particular nerve. But I think saying someone is "lucky" for finding an awesome partner (male or female) is a pretty normal colloquiallism. When my bf and I made things official I certainly got "you're a lucky girl, Kate. He's a stand up dude!" In actuality we both know luck had nothing to do with it. I feel like maybe I haven't made clear, because what you're saying directly opposes my point. :/. Maybe I can reword things? I firmly believe that painting all people in a gender with the same brush is really unhealthy. There have certainly been times when I've invested earlier on than a partner and vice versa. Lumping all people together is far more damaging than I think…

I sincerely wish you would specify that this only has to do with certain women. Women who are secure in who they are, who are confident, have no use for needy love. If I made a claim like, "men just want sex from women" it would certainly ring true for some, but there a great number of men who desire companionship, mutual respect and affection from a partner. The fact that you've lumped all women into this category makes my eye twitch a bit. I do second that you should read more of Mark Manson's…

I disagree. When you draw it out, especially with someone like OPs girl, I think it would give them hope. There's nothing more annoying than someone who does the fade out. It's rude and it makes me lose respect for them. I agree that this stigma exists. But I will say that there are classy ways for women to approach men. The issue for many women is that 1. We are just as nervous as a guy is when approaching and 2. One each other. On me. On anyone. They aren't responsible adults. They're 24 year olds acting like children. An adult does what they say they're going to do. If she says, "this day. This time." And cancels, I wouldn't waste any more time. Unless when she cancels, she calls ahead with ample time, apologizes and…

Jake, may I call you Jake? Thank you, love. I'm so sorry to hear about your girl. There is always that one we learn on. (Or 2... Or 37. Whatever). If you haven't spoken to her in a while, and depending on if things ended awkwardly or badly, you could still shoot her a text. "Hey kid. Thought of you today, and that time we "fun time you two had. Not sexual. Just play fun, keep the mood light. "How have you been?" If you guys ended well, (or at least not badly) it could be long enough that you cou…

Thank you so much!! This is exactly why i speak up in this sub so much. Lots of the advice here is good for picking up girls for one night, because girls who are only looking for one night stands have lower standards. I'll be really frank, when I'm lonely and just want to have a fun night, I'll flirt my ass off with a hot cocky sonofabitch. It's very fun to flirt. Who cares if he is a bit douchey, I'm only interested in some laughs, and a kiss maybe. I'm upfront, "look, I don't take guys home. B…

Your comparing the friend zone to someone with schizophrenia. That seems like a stretch.
/r/seduction02/09/13 01:31 AM

That's operating under the principle that after rejection, you have no sort of friendship with the person, correct?

So, what you're saying js the friend zone exists, you just aren't in it. My point stands. It does exist.

I agree 100%. So how does the friend zone supposedly not exist?
/r/seduction02/09/13 12:42 AM

Ahhh. I'm sorry, kid. I know that sucks. Best thibg to do is just to leave it alone. Depending on how you would've answered those questions anyways, I think walking away would be the best thing. A 7 year age gap at that age really isn't healthy. Veryyyy few relationships like that ever last. Not saying it's impossible, but you would have to be incredibly immature for your age to go through the whole "finding yourself" phase with her in tow. Chin up, love. It'll get better with time.

Of course people move on and grow. But it doesn't mean that they can move in the same direction. Calling it quits prematurely is something weak people do in fear of rejection. It's pushing people away before they can push you away. It's our job as strong, self assured, compassionate people to be available, yet firm in our desires. If the girl has told OP that she is going through things and can't be in a relationship because she really is, I think the kindest (and most likely to get him a gf) th…

I don't get how his theory is right is all. There is such thing as the friend zone. To deny it because you don't like it, or because you haven't experienced it is just silly. It's like if I said, "curry doesn't make anyone sick to their stomachs". Sure. It doesn't make me sick. But if some john popped up and said, "actually, I had a different experience- it made me quite sick. It was far too spicy!" I could be a Bitch and argue it was the peppers that made him sick, not the curry, but the fact o…

I've always been me, I'm just far more comfortable being me. I hope the same for your girl. You should shoot her a text to say hey. :). I often get downvoted to oblivion here, but I thought you may like a female's perspective. It really depends on what she is going through and if the attraction faded before or after she started her trek through hell. For me personally, when hit by tragedy, I too stopped talking to a guy I had feelings for (and vice versa). I was diagnosed with MS about 2 months into our relationship, and due to all my conflicting emotions about my diagnosis, I ended things. It had absolutely *nothinnnng to do wi…

So the friend zone only exists if one person is attracted at one time? (I'm trying to get this straight)
/r/seduction01/09/13 01:41 PM

I assure you, that definitely wasn't my intention going in. You can see on the top comment I was seeking to understand, others I was offering an alternative perspective- which is often absent here in seddit. I have no way to prove it, other than my word. I genuinely don't want to harm anyone here. I want people to do well. I want readers to meet awesome people, fall in love or score, or whatever their goal is. But I think encouraging a hivemind mentality of boys vs girls is seen often on seddit,…

You tried to argue that if men and women are friends, one has been rejected, more specifically "unaccepted". I made the argument that being in a "friend zone" can be a much keener and more important acceptance than some guy you hook up with once. I also made the argument that you can be platonic friends with someone without the need of rejection at all, seeing as sometimes people just aren't into one another like that. You called me a Bitch and told me that hypothetical questions are bad. You di…

Additionally, jumping into anger, name calling, and throwing out racial/social implications is probably why you need to come to places like seddit. If you really want advice on how to close with women, here it is, straight from the horses mouth: stop being an argumentative dick. You jump to accusations and insults instead of explaining your points logically and rationally. It's childish, and no woman wants to deal with that.
/r/seduction01/09/13 12:19 AM

And you know me and my relationships well enough to say that? Hahaha You'd win that mill, but you'd still be an angry, lonely little boy, spewing trash, trying to be cool on the internet. Edit- to reply to yours for clarification purposes. That's just how people make points. If you're incapable of understanding or addressing them, that's your problem. You're painting women and men, really all relationships, into black and white. They are not. If I was gay, would my best female friend be in the friend zone? Of course not. Just because he and I have different genitalia, and are attracted to the opposite genitalia, does not mean that one of us must be attracted to one another. Attraction goes far beyond "we have parts that fit. We are pretty people. I guess that means we should like each other". Otherwise, people should like their hot siblings o…

You say you are either rejected it accepted, but if I had to choose which man to save from a fire: my ling time friend or the guy I made out with at a club once, I'll be picking my friend. You can't possibly paint all relationships the same way. There are plenty of ways to be friends with members of the opposite sex... Just because we want to. I can value a person's personality and not need to have them in my bed.

Adding a smiley face doesn't equate to flirting. Haha. And he should flirt with girls he would like to date. Or fuck. Or whatever his endgame is (as long as he is honest). He shouldn't stir up feelings and sexually tense situations with people he has no interest in. It's not only unfair to the girls, it isn't good for him. It's cad behavior.
/r/seduction31/08/13 07:09 PM

Op is talking like this has been a problem for him. I understand his trepidation. That is all.
/r/seduction31/08/13 04:55 PM

There is a huge difference between never flirting and flirting with everyone. Edit- also, I like learning about everything from cars and engines to the rules of hockey. If a guy is passionate about something, I would enjoy him teaching me things. But I don't see how that has anything to do with flirting with every attractive chick.
/r/seduction31/08/13 04:53 PM

The down side is that women like me find men who flirt all the time disingenuous/easy/unattractive. "If he is flirting with everyone, I'm not special." The flirty guy has the least chance with me, because I don't find him genuine or trustworthy. I know that probably is not a fair assessment of his character- but since this behavior is displayed before I can get a feel for that, all I have to go on is that he is a flirt. And there is a negative gut feeling that goes along with men like that. Lots…

Rarely does not mean never. I have a very animalistic mentality of what's mine is mine. Besides all the health benefits that go along with monogamy, I think there are emotional ones as well. Being in a monogamous relationship eliminates the need for jealousy- the only time I recall being jealous over my ex was when I found out he was cheating on me. I get that. part of being an adult is knowing how people view you- and either confirming that perspective or altering it. I typically alter it. People often expect me to be stupid, or bubbly or whatever. In actuality I'm highly intelligent, have traveled extensively, am a big fan of mission work, and am a complete geek. 95% of the guys who I talk to end up being really surprised by me- some happy they've made a new friend, others disappointed that they aren't seeing any panties drop. I don't bla…

Fair enough. If I was out and a guy approached me I wouldn't just... not talk to him. I've always been hesitant, as hooking up isn't my thing. I think because I AM in a new town and I'll be without a safety net of friends, my guard is even more up. Of course I'll make friends, I always do. I'm just more suspicious of motive now I guess.

People shouldn't count anyone out based on their face. We can't help our genetics. But I see what you mean. :)

My dad always told me that I am the quarterback- I call the plays. So i definitely agree with you there. And I also understand that there are certain things people do to make themselves more attractive. When I'm going out wanting to flirt I wear red lipstick, Victorias Secret hair and when a guy I'm interested in is talking to me, I touch his arm or whatever- but all that is just natural. It's part of human nature to preen for a mate, and enact physical connection. What isn't natural is to plan …

I don't think I have any problems making friends or getting the right guys to like me to be honest. 16 year old me might have because I was insecure, but I'm a rather level headed woman and because I know who I am and am confident in myself I've never had any problems. Then again, I was in a relationship for a longgg time and have only been single 6 months. And am not at all looking. Maybe that'll change later. But I kind of doubt it. I do see what you mean about forming connections because some…

I think I've done pretty well in that regard. Like I said- never have slept with someone from a bar, and have consistently made friends. I'm told regularly that I'm "way cooler" than expected, which is a pretty back handed comment. What I don't get is that mentality. It's pretty fucked up to think of someone as a piece of meat. People are people. To me that is the equivalent of bitch girls who just view men as wallets. Edit- your submission history sheds some light on this outlook. I get it.

The absolute number one thing when it comes to how I [24/f] view a man's home is cleanliness. I don't care the shape of your place- if it's a studio apartment or if it's a huge house. I care if it's clean and tidy. Wash your sheets weekly. Do laundry regularly. Dust. vacuum. Mop. Clean your bathroom. I mean CLEAN. do dishes. I could care less if you have posters or whatever- just don't be dirty. I cannot stand grown men who are filthy, I will never give them a second chance. There is no excuse f…

Just a few questions to better understand: Are you a perfectionist? I am. I too have done and experienced a lot and used to have a difficult time talking and sharing because 1. I felt like it would be seen as bragging. 2. I didn't want to seem too big for my britches, so to speak. Like, because I've traveled, am well learned, and have experienced a lot, I was afraid if I shared too much a guy would be turned off. Or too clingy. Are you emotionally present? I notice often in my male friends who a…

Reasons for being dressed up like a "porn star" in the middle of the day: Likes to dress up. Photo shoot. Going to a friend's before going out to club. Costume party. Lost a bet. Won a bet. And I'm sure there are more I can't think of off the top of my head.

Good Lord. As a female who gets dressed up for events and looks attractive, I'm typically thinking about my red lipstick, and if it is on my teeth. Or maybe that my dress is too tight, or too short or whatever. I can't remember the last time I put on a dress and was concerned if a random dude thought I was hot. I can't remember the last time I wore anything fancy that I didn't feel confident in. But more so: i don't give a flying fuck if a stranger thinks I'm hot. My bones are just genetics and …

Right? I hate this saying. This isn't girl scouts, and I'm not a fucking camp site. Reminds me of all the other stuff I learned scouting, and whenever I read it I always think, "Don't leave her covered in trash. Don't tear her leaves off. Cover your poop hole. Leave only footprints take only pictures." What? How about leave people better than when you left. Just be a nice person. Be uplifting, honest, kind and especially loving. This should have nothing to do with gender or status of romantic in…

take a personality profile test- myers briggs. Just google it and "free" or something, and take it. It's supposed to be given by a professional, but I've have both and I'm always an INTJ.

I've never asked a man for a drink [24]. It's something none of the girls in my friends group do. We go out to have fun with each other, not get free shit. That being said, I've never let a man buy me a drink without reciprocating- even if I wasn't interested in him. Sometimes it's manners, sometimes it's that I don't want a guy to feel like I owe him, but usually if I get to the point where a guy buys me a drink- it's because I'm interested in hanging out. Not necessarily to be romantic; often …
