is there a forum anyone knows of on here where people actually discuss specific divorce tactics and what my aim for a motion or court appearance should be? or am i best going down to the local courthouse for the free help they offer. and just practicing with the local free help

I have an attorney I could pay for big picture strategy and what my goal is at each hearing? So I'm not completely blind?

Again their is equity in the houses maybe that is what they are counting on Anyways spitball with me even if you think I'm full of shit pretend I'm not, come up with ideas thanks

I am seriously all ears on strategy here. Her lawyers have apparently given her a lot of credit so far lots of it. So there is no need for her to settle as she doesn't pay them any bills it's just like fighting an endless swamp. If the trial ends and the judge orders me to pay for her half of attorneys fees we will both be left with zero So.... What can I do? Go pro se file a million motions go to trial and then have her be broke along with me when the dust settles? How can I work out how her la…

Ok then I'm all ears what is really happening? Is there a hidden 3rd party paying? How would I even accuse them of this or prove it

Yes I would lack expertise and experience. But if I am trying to present assets to get split what trick am I missing here? I have a forensic accountant I can bring him to court and let him explain the numbers as he sees it?
/r/Divorce_Men02/12/24 12:59 AM

They have calculated how much equity is left in the houses vs how much her bills are. She has obviously signed a contract to pay them when the assets are split. Either that or someone else is paying them which I doubt. We talking serious money here

what you do after separation / initial filing for divorce i don't think has any relevance in any state legally? certainly should have no relevance in a no fault state. if your EX was mental and would rage against you hate on you all the time, then do whatever you want. no matter what you try do to try make things go right, your divorce will turn nuclear and be a shit show, so you may as well as do whatever you want, just accept you are going to war end of story and suck it up is all i can say. i…

i dont want to get into specifics on my situation but there has been some litigation. The house has about 1 million in equity. Her attorney i have discovered has been on probation multiple times for misconduct with state bar (I did some digging). after the initial shock i am over it. I will fight to the end. Time to file for trial date, time to file at the state bar for attorney misconduct. They want to play dirty, lets go. bring it. I will fight every step of the way. I will not agree to anythi…

1) you misread its not 70 000 - its $700 000 2) the court has not ordered me to pay her legal fees 3) she hasnt paid her attorney in more than a year, the invoices state there should be 10% interest charges, there are none etc

we only got this info this week, still trying to process it with my attorney. there is no ways this can be legal or ethical...... 1) hiding the size of this debt from me - she hasnt paid her attorney in over 1 year. 2) they have harassed me and everyone i know nonstop because well its more work / free money 3) and finally by extending this credit the lawyer has literally prevented a settlement can i attempt to offload my legal bills onto her attorney - does anyone know what recourse there is? th…

counselling doesn't work if one of you has checked out. save your time. now you have to decide if you would be happier alone or with your current wife. because imagining a better life with someone else is risky, it may not happen or be worse. but if you happier being alone and not with your wife, there is your answer

i hate to tell you this but it will be worse as she gets older. once she gets to 40 and 50 plus approx 1/20th the dudes of before are going to give her ANY attention. she she will be more self conscious more aware of her falling value more desperate and therefore more clingy and psycho. by then you will have to wear a body cam that can transmit to her 24/7. when you are trying to think of anywhere to go but home, that is when you will know you have reached the end and need to file. unless then y…

the consensus on here would be with kids that age, not a good idea. the consensus on here would be if living in the same house as your ex not a good idea. If you had no kids or kids are over 16 and you just tell them hey im gonna start dating again, and you live in your own house or even better another city or state, and its no fault, I don't see why not. grass is greener. it most likely isn't...... you roll the dice, maybe 1 in 10 you find someone clearly better in every way. if you saying you want to be alone and dont want a woman well that is completely different. but that is not what you saying channel your energy into things you love, sports, hobbies, get a dog you really like if you into dogs etc.

you could substitute the gym for your favorite exercise (mountain bike? tennis.... whatever)..... but i think the core of the advice is to get out there and be moving and doing something. personally i think an exercise that involves natural sunlight is even better than gym but thats just me.

tell her you will divorce her now, and tell her she can come back and live with you once the divorce is finalized on a trial for 5 years and then you will marry her again after those 5 years if she has been a good wife for 5 years. watch her freak out and dump you on the spot, and there is your answer.

my advice is if you 2 cannot be nice to each other (and im not blaming either side) - all im saying is if you 2 cannot be nice to each other no matter whose fault it is, then you should both end the relationship. either find other people you can each be nice to or if not then be alone...... alone is a very valid option.

3 months? you are already fighting daily and threatening each other with divorce? That doesn't sound promising to put it mildly. How is one conversation going to undo the toxic precedent you two have already set? You realize all the name calling, accusations and threats are never forgotten. It just builds into a massive pile of resentment and mistrust.

thats the way life works now. when someone thinks they can get a better deal elsewhere they are gone. but this is not necessarily a bad thing. do you really want to live with someone who is evaluating your worth every day and waiting for you to not meet expectations so they can dump you. better off alone or with someone else.

i thought i could be mature and and adult and communicate with my ex like an adult. all i got was hate, ranting, raving, and just cuntiness, blaming me for everything one week, wanting to get back together the next week, blocked her forever. its the only way. she wants to reach out to me she has to involve lawyers i threw my wedding album into the dumpster.

i think once people break up, whether its in a marriage or a relationship, that its doomed. eventually you will get divorced no matter what. I cannot think of a single time where the marriage or relationship has no eventually ended again, whether it takes 1 week or 1 decade. the trust is gone and the precedent of just leaving has been set, its done.

once kid arrives things will be much much harder. also do not fear being alone. alone is fine. and if you are really a decent human being who is kind and considerate towards others, and you want to find another woman who is nicer to you, it will happen.

1) when you dont want to come home at all because wife is home, you go anywhere but home, friends, pool clubs, movies, hiking, anything 2) when your best weeks of the year are the ones where you were without your wife. 3) when you look at the nagging face complaining about everything and being ungrateful and you just see red and have to leave the house for hours to cool off.

you cant pull the trigger because of fear of the unknown. its natural, and understandable. you trading in a the devil you know for something you don't know. there is one way to test if you are ready, tell your wife you need some alone time some mountain air or something, but rent an airbnb or something in your home city - or a city you would want to live. dont call your wife more than once per week in that month. see if you can handle a month living alone, if you get lonely and miserable, then y…

mental health / substance abuse is the worst problem to deal with in a marriage. if its been onging forever with constant relapses, the odds of the problem being solved is basically zero in my opinion. every 3 to 6 months you will have a relapse with a new drama. if you can live with crazy, that is your choice, but I think 99% of men would be better off either being alone or meeting someone new. living with crazy will ruin your sanity, your health and your extended family.

People can make mistakes. You should sit down and talk to your wife. Play dumb about the other guy and see if she lies about it. ask generic questions like have you been seeing anyone else, or are you talking to other men etc if she has no intention of coming clean and fixing your relationship and just lies, you know its all smoke and mirrors and you should most likely end it. if she says she is unhappy, has made mistakes, wants to work on the marriage with a therapist, and you are willing to ac…

first of all please don't end yourself. your kids and the people in your life who love you will be devastated. on the issue of your wife, this is pretty normal. maybe not the filthy house part, but the doing nothing part is very normal. why? because she can. it is as simple as that. ive always said to single people or people dating that you can be more lonely in a marriage than really being alone. al least if you are single and alone, you have the hope and the possibility of meeting someone. if you are lonely in your marriage you are alone and trapped. the lack of respect is also intolerable. even if you suck it down and take the lack of respect and dont snap back at her, you will resent the hell out of her. it will basically be like poisoning yourself. and if you snap back…

this is exactly what im thinking. was waiting for someone to confirm. seems like you just change one set of problems for another set of problems, then end up dealing with the old set of problems from old wife and whatever new problems you get yourself into. seems like the only sure way is if you can confirm you are absolutely fine being alone. a total loner would be most likely to find greener grass.

well i can say we get on better with no kids in the house, so maybe that is something for you to look forward to as well its more lonely with no kids, but also 50% less fights as for your retirement, you might have to think of something devious which im sure lots of people on this forum know more about than me

exactly. also, lets say you got divorced - would you want to be alone? or get another woman? all women seem just as nuts, unless you are interchanging internet prostitutes from ukraine every 30 days, what are the odds you really get a better woman? seems slim, you will get some woman who seems nice acts nice etc etc and then just becomes a pain in the ass if you content being alone then its a different story, would make this whole thing a lot easier.

i would be paying alimony forever. or until 65 i dunno? my wife literally spends no money i mean like zero. for every $1 000 she spends i must spend like $20 000. so my incentive is really not to leave just from a financial viewpoint. also goes back to the original question, are any women really that much better? they all seem the same? all nuts

You feel terrible because you are a prisoner. she has broken you down and built you up so many times that you are completely dependant on her, mentally dependant. that is why anything you do to cut her out of your life like divorcing or getting a restaining order or leaving makes you feel bad, because you have been so abused and moulded by her you need her attention even if its negative. like the dog that keeps getting kicked but runs back to its owner out of loyalty and bccause it knows nothing…
