As someone who has consistently struggled with anxiety and is now suffering from depression, I feel it would make me hypocritical if I were to consider mental illness a deal breaker. Obviously if you can’t deal with someone who lashes out at you or expects you to be an emotional servant then you’re not entitled to pursue them. I’m just wondering what women with mental illnesses are supposed to do

That’s a good thought but I always thought it was more so because when humans began to work, they also needed someone to stay home with the kids and it was decided that it would be the woman, as they’re the ones that give birth and men are physically stronger and able to do more when it came to farming, building, etc. Because the men were the ones making the income, that made them more powerful than women and power fucks with people’s minds so it just spiraled into what is now the patriarchy.

I know exactly what you mean. Whenever I post something on reddit that expresses anger or anything even remotely thought out, people assume I’m male. Then they’re surprised to find out I’m a woman. It’s actually offensive. And then when I correct them, they don’t take my point as seriously. The same thing happens in real life. When I get “heated” in discussion, people look taken aback and are less likely to respond. Being a woman is really annoying at times.
