Yes. EDIT: again I'm not arguing against AWALT. I'm declaring a pet peeve in this thread because I don't want to make a new thread.

Doesn't matter. All I'm saying is that this particular example does not definitively prove that all women are like that. If you're really curious the way I view AWALT is a bit mathy. Take a specific trait that you think women have more than men (hypergamy, for example), and quantify that numerically. I'm going to assume a normal distribution for this trait. The mean for women will be higher than the mean for men, and the standard deviation will be low. This means it's mathematically possible tha…

I mean I'm not going to dispute the concept of AWALT, and this certainly isn't the time and place to do so, but every time I see an anecdote like this: you didn't show that AWALT. You showed an instance (or several) of WLT. To conclude AWALT from a single story is bad science. I personally feel that AWALT needs to be concluded either from a large-scale study, or a lifetime of experiences, at the very least.

This is an interesting tale, but you might want to consider removing/changing a few details about your friend's ex so that the Reddit rules can't get you for putting too much personal information!

Not single, but if you live in a city my friends tell me good things about Coffee Meets Bagel. As far as I can tell it's a dating app that focuses more on quality vs quantity by matching you with 1 match a day, with potential mutual friends. What are you looking for in terms of quality precisely?

To add a more selfish perspective, now that you are aware how the world is run, you can use the information to your advantage. In terms of looks, as many have stated you can improve them. Diets, makeup...even plastic surgery, if it's necessary. Technology today has made it easier than ever to at least come off as a 5. In terms of men, you can now be realistic. Non-high (i.e. 20%) SMV men have a crappier time of it than you'd think due to the Pareto distribution of female interest, so pull an Ody…

I'm not a man so I can't speak for all mankind, but hypothetically, is this woman repeatedly entering LTR's with these men and getting dumped repeatedly? If so, she's not learning from her mistakes. It'd be a "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me" sort of thing, I'd think.

I'm yet another woman who prefers to be with someone who doesn't have a high partner count. It's largely due to practicality; I mean much more to someone who has a lower partner count (i.e I'm not just a notch on the bedpost). Even if in a vacuum of only sex, it's true that male partner count might not matter, real life does not exist in a vacuum. The optimal strategy for women is supposed to be find an awesome LTR, right? A man who is accustomed to spinning plates and nexting women is less like…

While I don't dispute that marriage is a deal that heavily favors women today without safeguards, how would you convince a woman to accept non-marriage, when it is a deal that heavily works against a red pill woman? Let's say you want to enter a pseudo-marriage with a woman because of kids. You want said woman to be caring for and raising these children while you work, which probably means quitting any full time jobs, and at most going part time. Because if both parents will be working full time…

Destroy her with politeness. Not necessarily kindness, but politeness. Is she standing in your way? Tap her on the shoulder and sweetly ask her to scoot a little to the side so you can see the board. She can't say no in such a public setting. Raise your eyebrows and smile when she gives snarky comments. Let her dig her own grave when it comes to her connections with both your instructor and your peers - if she's that annoying, nobody will like her anyways. In other words, she's not worth your ti…

First keep in mind a woman's objective - forward thinking (or lazy) women may not like big muscled men in terms of holding on to a LTR because the probability of keeping such a man decreases. Less muscular men exhibit certain personality traits that indicate they have a greater chance of being a good long term partner - emphasis on long term. Beta bucks, if you wish. Don't even bother being pissed off some women might think this way; it is what it is. So considering physical preferences only, wi…

Unrelated, but you know what I find interesting? In the personal life section of their Wikipedia page we see that two out of three sisters divorced their husbands in their thirties. We know this was less common for the average American family back then, but was this as uncommon for famous people, you think?

To be fair, AWALT also makes generalizations about women although that's based on a larger sample of women. Just let the women make their generalizations. If they're right, they're right, and if they're wrong because of sample size or whatever, you're not going to change their minds anyways.

This is stupid. I get that they're trying to define rape more precisely so that everyone's on the same page or some shit, but this law literally does nothing but raise questions. Why college students only? Does the asker of permission implicitly give permission by asking the question? If nobody asks, can we claim that both parties were raped (by each other)? Getting technical here, but does ongoing consent exclude gags and other sex things people might play with? ...Like I said, it doesn't help …

Asking out of pure scientific curiosity - has a similar study ever been done on men? It'd be interesting to see if the disparity between, say, 0 and 2 sexual partners is as extreme for men as for women. Can't predict science, but I'd wager that there might be a disparity, but it might be lessened, or the sexual numbers might be higher. Who knows.

Seriously?! I've lived in San Francisco, Seattle, etc. and almost certainly encountered at least 10x as many tech bros as she's dated. There are a plethora of perfectly friendly, non-self absorbed/etc. etc. tech men out there. It just so happens that many of them are snapped up by rational women far before her age... I guess I'm a little more moderate in that it doesn't bother me if other women don't take their husband's last names, but I personally intend to change my last name when I get married. I'm also not sure if it's disrespectful if I didn't, per se, but it'd definitely be more respectful and unifying if I did. Does that make any sense?

I agree that Elon Musk is much more alpha than most women (including RPW) can or want to handle, but that's also what draws women to him, presumably, right? In any case it's clear that wife 2 is a much better match for his personality than wife 1, which is fine. Not every woman is a RPW.

I agree - TRP threads can get pretty angry, and I tend to mentally disagree with much more of what's said on that subreddit these days than what is said on this one. Makes sense considering many of the posters on trp are still in the anger phase. The contrast is like night and day. To play devil's advocate for a moment though, it did seem like there was a definite personality clash between Elon Musk's first wife and himself, and it seems better for everyone involved that the two of them are no longer together (and she can't blame him for her unhappiness)...

I recently downloaded a free app from the Featured section of the itunes app store called "Spitfire Athlete," and have been working my way through the home-based workout. Three times a week, 20 minutes each. Designed for increasing core strength. I wonder how much this has to do with the gradually changing demographics of gamers? Maybe I'm hallucinating, but in recent years gaming has become more mainstream. I hate to generalize but perhaps back in the day your typical gamer had more beta tendencies on average, which is the perfect demographic for worshipping the badass female character stereotype. Nowadays, that's not necessarily the case, and since we know that there is some amount of red pill in many men, it makes sense that companies…

Hi! You raise some thought provoking points. Of course I hamster like all women, but RPW is about toning that shit down and practicing optimal sexual strategies, right? To answer your question, there is without a doubt a lower probability of my being able to get a plate spinner to commit, due to the abundance mentality that they have and the fact that I'm not even close to being a perfect woman. You are absolutely correct on that point. But that's why from a rational perspective, it's good to en…

Dangggg is this thread polarized or what?! All things equal, between a man who has spun plates and a man who hasn't, I'd go for the man who hasn't. In fact, all things not being equal, since at my age there are still awesome (by my definition) men who haven't spun plates who would be interested in dating me, I would consider them first, before considering the plate spinners. On the flip side, it is definitely true that by and large, the sexual history of a man doesn't impact his attractiveness. …

Here's a harebrained idea - use a PageRank-like trust based system where the delta's from "trusted" users hold more weight than a delta from a less trusted user. Initial trust weights can be seeded by mod/endorsed contributors, or simply computed after a period of time based on how many deltas a user receives. Trust scores can be updated on daily, or even a weekly basis. I'm going to guesstimate that there are just several thousand unique posters per month on the subreddit, so trust scores would…

This is what my mom has always told me, and she has fantastic skin for her age and is often mistaken for a woman 15 or more years younger: If you live in a drier area, always moisturize with lotion after showering. Pay special attention to the neck and chest area. Eye wrinkles are often the first to show, so use eye cream daily. Face wash. Morning, evening. Eat things with lots of healthy fats, like avocado, nuts, and salmon. Processed sugar is the worst. Sleep!!

High five Comp sci is easier than applied math in many ways, I feel, especially in a masters program where there's more flexibility to take the classes you like. I'd definitely take some classes as an undergrad to get a feel for how much you like it. I personally enjoy the artificial intelligence-type classes because it more or less seems to boil down to statistics.

Yep. I studied applied math as an undergraduate and am in grad school for the next year or so for computer science. IMHO there's no correct answer for whether you should pursue a college degree or not. Here are three factors to consider (there are obviously many more): What type of guy do you like? At your presumably young age, you are probably capable of attracting the type of guy you like, within reason. Is your type typically found in places where college students or graduates should be? If s…

Nah. It's just that from a completely game theoretic standpoint, towards the later years the sexual payoff for a rational agent (male) to leave his aging partner for a younger model is greater regardless of events that occurred in previous iterations of this game (aka the past). I'd rather not go into details, but the math works out. Then again, humans aren't all rational agents, and sexual payoff isn't the only payoff that exists. It's just hard to remember that when you've spent the last 20 mi…

It works out wonderfully now, but I'm in my early twenties, and sometimes I do wonder how it'll work out when we're in our forties, and I'm a sexual nobody while he's still got something going on. Now, the difference is degree IMHO this is the crux of the argument, really. A rare individual woman (or man) might exhibit lesser amounts of one of the traits you mentioned, but that person is a) a statistical anomaly (and lesser amounts is still a nonzero amount), and b) probably only for that trait. In short, adding "statistically" to every sentence on here results in stuff that makes lots of sense.

Eh. Maybe it's because I'm a woman, but I do believe NAWALT and NAMALT (?), to a very limited extent. Putting it in mathematical terms, let's say the general philosophy here is that AWALT because of some trait. Let's numerically quantify that trait somehow, with a random variable x. Assuming a normal distribution for x, the mean for x is then assumed to be very high, and the standard deviation is very small. The goal is to look more feminine! Google "short hair accessories" and buy the stuff that suits your hair. From a brief glimpse I think I like the cute hairbands and even cuter pin things the most. If all else fails, get your ears pierced/wear earrings, make sure you're doing your makeup, etc. Basically short hair makes you look temporarily more masculine so you should counter that with things that remind others that you are female. :)

This strategy doesn't work for everyone, but when I'm trying to lose weight I'll cook really compartmentalized food and feed my guy bits of all the stuff I make while only eating a subset myself. For example carbs mess with my weight the most, so I might make steak + kale, and use the steak juices to stir-fry some noodles for my guy (with his kale). I like steak more anyways so then I'm free to scarf that down without guilt (with kale. nom.)

They're jealous. 2) They don't look like the hot woman in question and they don't want to. They want men to find them attractive, instead of the hot woman. 3) They look like the hot woman, but to a less hot degree. Jealous 4) They look just like the hot woman! I'm of the opinion that swearing excessively isn't super classy or attractive for anyone, regardless of background. I do like my mild/alternative swear words though! Anyway I'm going to go against the grain and say that a well-timed "sh*t!" after stubbing your toe on the corner of the table, for example, is nothing too out there, but there's really no need to go on a swearing spree when there are a million other more effective ways to communicate. :)

Hey! I just came across this amazing post that instantly made things a lot less dissonant in my head. There's the women's rights movement, and then there's the feminist movement. It sounds like what you strive for - the opportunity for women to have the right to do what they want (but still have to face the consequences of their actions) - falls right in line with what the women's rights movement fought for. And basically won. So yay :) And yes, there's that one guy from /r/trp that doesn't beli…

Ooh, great points! Next time someone asks I can tell them that I am definitely a huge fan of the "women's rights movement." I'm glad that a distinction can be made. The vocab overload for basic rights/feminism today can get annoying. :)

I still consider myself "feminist," if you can even call it that, in that other women are very free to do what they want to do - cut their hair short, be all butch, ride on the carousel for years, whatever. I'm not going to bother trying to infringe on their rights to do so. What happens when they hit the wall is their business. Does that count? I've also always strongly felt for the right for women to be... well, women. If I'm not complaining about a "strong independent woman" 's choices in lif…

To be fair to Lily, she ended her friendship with Snape after he called her a Mudblood during their fifth year, and didn't actually get together with James until the seventh, so we can't say what would've happened if Snape hadn't insulted her. One could still argue that her reasoning for refusing to accept Snape's apologies were flimsy though, given the fact that she forgave James and his years of asshole Snape bullying. Then again, as a muggleborn living during Voldemort's reign of terror I'm g…

+1 to women who don't care. Speaking of which, you know what term actually pisses me off? "Womyn." Ugh, it makes me sound like some sort of wyrm or something. shudder

Totally with you on this one! That woman is inspirational. As a far less active person there's no way I'd look like that four days after pregnancy, but I'm glad it can be done, and it gives me more motivation to be as fit as possible, at least.

I predict the correct response is probably something like "yes, but it's rare and you'll always have to keep your frame with her so she doesn't go branch swinging." As for your particular set of expectations, FWIW I fall under all five categories, so obviously girls "like that" exist. You'd think a lot of openly religious women would qualify, but who knows. Anyways, that said, you might be fighting a losing battle. The older women get, the less likely they are to have never had a ONS/FWB, and as…

In short, what you describe is frequently considered attractive: 3-4 inches above the bra strap/nipples is still well past the shoulders/mid length hair, and with proper styling can be super hot. Loose dresses hide a lot of lower body flab. Women who exercise and are in great shape tend to look amazing in tight jeans. The trick is to dress it up with feminine shoes/tops. Natural-looking makeup is a huge thing, I thought? You should check, but maybe this is what your boyfriend means. I've noticed…

Hi! I'm a semi-lurker here. I'd say my personal beliefs are mildly redpill, but I've seen so much variety on this subreddit alone that I don't even know any more. I was born and raised in a household with rather RP beliefs, so statements such as "women physically peak earlier than men and should therefore use the pretty to attract a good guy to settle down with" are very palatable for me. On the other hand, my upbringing has also allowed me to witness when things go wrong. My mom is a very attra…

I have a circle of 6 female friends, all in the same (techy, male-dominated) field of study as me, who I've known for over five years. We're all in super long-term relationships (some of us are married/engaged), and none of us slutted it up in college. I guess if you want to get really technical with the jargon, all of us are probably more gung-ho about women's rights than is the norm here, but recognize the landscape of sexual dynamics enough to have "locked down" a "beta provider" who acts jus…

Literally 5 snapshots away from you - the exact same thing was going through my head when I read the post. Fortunately the top comments seem mostly reasonable. The lower comments are pretty headdesk worthy though. Especially this one: Are you really willing to totally screw up your marriage of 7 years over your own petty jealousy? How is being upset over your partner hiding a secret slutty side and lying about it for years petty jealousy?! I don't even.

After wasting way too much time watching these videos, I agree that the original is (thankfully) fake! One of the actresses gives the game away here, where she almost cracks up in the middle. A choice quote in that particular video also strongly suggests it's a fake (you'll know it when you hear it). :)

Got it, thanks. It'll be interesting to see what society is like in a few generations, I guess.

Sorry, I'm a woman infiltrating the ranks here. Anyway, I find too much sexual experience just as unappealing in men, to be honest. I'm not a fan of casual sex, so I've probably come across as too upfront in the past by making sure any dates I had were not casual and rejecting anybody looking for a casual relationship (and yes, there have been some real catches in the mix barring their sexual past. But this is more important to me than looks or even wealth). And while yes, men who can attract an…

Wait. I totally understand the hypocrisy underlined in this article, but since when are women speaking out against marriage en masse? The vast, vast majority of women I know would like to get married some day, even if the timeline is unclear. I was under the impression that refusing marriage altogether was a very extremist and minority opinion. Is this not the case? I mean, if you think about it, less well-educated, lower-IQ women probably don't have the time to deal with crap like thinking abou…

While I agree that there are women (and I know some myself) who expect men to pay for dates, I think a reason might be because it goes both ways. Back in my single days, I went on a few first dates where the men actually seemed bothered when I proposed splitting the bill, and absolutely insisted on paying. And in these cases, so as to not come off as a militant feminist I typically let them pay and if I anticipated a second date, insisted on paying for that one, or if not, bought dessert or some…

Ahh, thank you for this! I have such a girl crush on Shakira - don't know what precisely she does to stay in such good shape all these years, but it's so inspiring. You raise an interesting point - my boyfriend is happy enough programming together, but he definitely seems especially happy when I feed him, even if what I made would never fly in a restaurant. I'm going to guess this is one way (besides sex, haha) how many men feel cared for - it would make sense that men and women seek care from t…

Thanks for the advice. I don't go to the gym per se, but I dance a fair amount of hip hop (I'm in a group). Now that you mention it, I have a good friend who doesn't cake on the makeup every day, but goes to bed early, cooks and eats healthily, bikes everywhere, dresses well, and all in all takes many subtle steps to remain attractive. She's very happily married now. I think you're on to something :)
