I'm really fucking tired of this shit. I know plenty of girls who haven't experienced these things. Oh, I guess they don't count because they don't get wasted and party with strangers on the regular.

No, but I wouldn't go around telling my friends specific things that were wrong with it when I really had no idea.

I don't disagree—we should be able to see the documents that are going to govern us in advance. But couldn't we also agree that people should demand real sources for information instead of blindly repeating what someone else said online? It makes me sad that so few people are thinking critically or looking at the original text that was leaked. Thinking critically about the side that has already been demonized doesn't take a whole lot of character. We all already love hating on the government.

I'm not arguing that secrecy is suspicious, but all I hear is a bunch of assertions about content with no indication of what they're actually based on. Who knows, maybe TPP makes hamburgers illegal! Politicians are evil so clearly it makes hamburgers illegal!

The whole intellectual property section was leaked. What am I lying about? The fact that non-lawyers often misread laws, or don't know when "new laws" actually are the same as old laws? Sorry bub, that's no lie. Thanks for providing zero evidence of anything. Enjoy TPP. I don't have to do shit 'cause I don't give a fuck whether it passes or not. You're the one ruining your own chances at happiness.

I don't want a summary. I want quotes, like I said. The text of the intellectual property part—which is part of what people hate—is available, and I want someone to give me concrete evidence to support our guesses about what's in the rest. If you were a lawyer, you would understand how many times the public completely misunderstands laws, and then the media just repeats their flawed summary ad nauseam, and before you know it everyone's an "expert" who doesn't know what the fuck they're talking a…

Okay, this really isn't relevant to Men's Rights, but since you're here, maybe you can help me with my questions that no one could answer. Namely: What specifically is the text from the intellectual property section that isn't already in TRIPS (Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights)? Please copy/paste directly the relevant text from TPP and the corresponding text from TRIPS. What is the evidence that ISDS will be a disaster? The White House claims that we have never lost an ISDS …

See my other comment. I'm saying that if you want to go out with people who are worth the effort, then expect to make an effort. If you want people to make an effort for you, then you'll end up going out with the people who think you're worth making an effort—but those people might not be people you think are worth going out with. So choose.

Whoever invites the other person out on the date should pay. The key is to talk to someone enough before you invite them out that you know if they're the obnoxious brand of feminist so you can save your money and time if they are.

So someone else just as bad can replace her? No. How about we pressure those in power at UVA to actually talk to some lawyers who have been working from the due process side of things for years, who are never fucking consulted on any of this shit. Then maybe the new policies can protect both real victims and the accused. Simply firing Sullivan isn't going to result in someone educated about these issues coming to power.
