I didn't bring up Magic first. She asked me if I played, and I said something like 'blah blah blah second place state championship 2010, etc etc' on the first date, and she asked me to teach her how to play. Seemed like a pretty safe bet after that.

I started with something along those lines, but she kept drilling for intent. I'm guessing I should have just kept being totally ambiguous into infinity. I also told her every time she asked directly that I had no expectations and was just seeing what was going to happen. I kept getting the impression that she wanted some sort of commitment, but I wasn't interested in giving that to her.

I knew in the moment that this was the next step. Every time I tried to go downstairs on both nights, hand was blocked and she physically disengaged to reiterate that we weren't going to have sex. The total physical disengagement seems like actions, not words. I'm certainly no expert, though.
