You realize this is just a formula to keep the rich people (and their sons and gasp!! Daughters) in power? Plenty of people pay to send their kids to private school as well and then pay for private college. The net taxpayers would be those who were born wealth and then keep raising the price of what is 'owed' to ensure they say in power.

If she is working why are you allocating her money? Or do you want full control of the money she earns? What if she has a huge inheritance? Are you entitled to that too?

what do you invest in? I have a cheap condo and get a net of 10k/year in that. I also have some money in index funds, but the returns are ok. i'm lucky that i am 23 (hitting the so called wall soon though apparently), so hopefully compound interest kicks in before another crash.
