I said the same thing, and I guess I’m a pick me now. This sub can be toxic.

This reads like a toxic agenda. I agree with some of what’s being said, but this reads as though sex exclusively benefits men. I just like sex.

Some of the people at my uni’s gaming club are furries. Apart from wanting to bone Sonic the Hedgehog, they’re actually well adjusted people. This guy is below that.

I had a photo of me with friends. Fully dressed, fully casual at the detective pikachu opening. We were in group costume. I was a pikachu. It wasn’t exactly sexy. Men.

What is? The “I know”? Also, not sure why (if) negging actually works.

As a clarification- I don’t mind period sex. It can be great, but I don’t think Aunt Flo is really a deterrent for most people in my experience 😂

It’s about half-and-half. I find that if you wait for men to message you, you largely get men that copy and paste the same message to literally everyone. It’s kind of the same scenario as in person, if you only engage with people who approach you, then you wind up with players that approach everyone.

I’ve never minded the tour thing, I just tell them here and there blahblah. I don’t actually make plans on it though unless it’s like a museum or something

Yeah. I didn’t know the guy was a tourist at first. I was kind of hoping I’d found someone else that liked to kayak. Personally, as someone who dates women as well, if I got the I know response, I’d be like, she’s cheeky, I love it!

With my luck, I’d find the bloodhound.

Oh, I see. I certainly wouldn’t give them my address. I wish prostitutes were legal in my state so I could send them to the nearest brothel. 😂

As gross as they are, I don’t think it’s illegal to do what they do and our civil servants are already overburdened.

Uggh. True. I like the ego thing from when someone is obviously super into what you’re doing, but it seems guys get it from the whole “numbers” thing.

This needs more upvotes. Also, I’d really like to see this sub acknowledge that (at least some) women intrinsically like sex for what it is. I’ve made a few posts regarding strategically finding respectful, but casual partners and I get told that I need to reflect on what I want, or that I’m internalizing the patriarchy.

I’m not looking for a relationship right now, because I’m at a really transitional point and I might be moving soon-ish. That being said, it’s been a couple years, I’m not really great at being in relationships, and sex is a human need imo. If it’s possible to be a singleton by nature, that’s kinda where I’m at. I just find that I’m a lot happier when I’m not dealing with the BS that all too often is part of the package. I look at it like this: I have a stomach, I get hungry. I have a sex drive,…

I don’t mind dad bods, but while you’re at it- lower the standard for women’s bodies. I like tacos and beer too.

Yes, knowingly, willfully spreading it is one thing, and people who do that are disgusting. I myself do not have HSV2 (was tested for it) and I’ve never had any signs of HSV1. I will not stand for blatant shaming of health issues. Friendly reminder ladies, cold sores are a type of HSV. There’s nothing wrong with that, but please do not shame people who likely got the virus through no fault of theirs.

I’m not really sure what she means by feminine, but as a woman who presents somewhat androgynously, I hope she isn’t basing it off looks.

Oh, I didn’t even consider that. I mean yeah, if we were serious and together for like a year, I’d talk to him about moving, but if I restricted my dating pool to only accessible apartment owning people, I’d be really out of luck in my city.

Honestly, I like this guy (behind a screen at least) but even in situations where sex is the primary goal, I think the first date exists solely to show the other person you’re a very nice, non-murderer.

Mostly, I’m just asking to see if I’m missing something. It’s an idea I see iterated so often here that I’m not sure is actually the best idea with OLD.

No, I understand I don’t owe anyone anything, it’s just that I’ve had dates where I personally felt unsafe because a man feels that just by existing, I apparently owe him sex. I always have my own transit, but I just feel better not putting myself in a situation in the first place. I’m 22 and I do want someone who can date properly. Right now, I’m working research and in September I’m slated to leave for peace corps, so I don’t have much money, and I feel hypocritical expecting that from someone…

While I hear what you’re saying, I don’t think it’s about him buying the coffee. I think it’s more about him going out of his way just to make her happy. I’m of the mind that value does not equal money, and money doesn’t necessarily mean value. I’m a student, I don’t have a ton of money, but you don’t need it to be thoughtful.

My father is far from a perfect man, in fact I do find some of his views on women problematic, but he does pay attention. I’m living on my own now and he still knows what kind of food I like, what my hobbies are, the general goings on in my life. If I come home from college on breaks, he tries to have my favorites in the fridge, plan things I like to do, things like that. If he comes to visit my city, he tries to help me around my apartment, and run errands, because I’m physically challenged, an…

Due to social expectations in that country, constraints with where I will be living (village hut w/ host family) and some strict fraternization rules, I’m pretty resigned to it. This is something I made a commitment to do, and not one I made lightly.

That’s the truth of it though 🤷‍♀️ I accepted a job contract that puts me in a very repressive environment.

My problem isn’t emotional. It’s the cobwebs in my vagina.

Exactly. I’m not looking for advice on whether I should have casual sex. I’m looking for advice on finding candidates. For everyone saying I need reflection, I have reflected. I want sex. As much as I like this sub, why don’t y’all think women have enough agency to know when they are horny? How do I find someone decent without lowering my standards or behaving in an unkind way to others in turn?

And this is the principle problem with men. I wish it were easier. If only men could grasp the concept of “be nice, be fun, be respectful and have great sex”. I don’t think it’s a high bar.

I have a drawer. I’m bored. It’s been like a good 2 years or so. I’m rather picky. I see the value in what you’re saying, but wanting sex does not make me a prostitute. I came here for advice on finding men for my amusement that aren’t the run of the mill slobs. I did not come for your judgment. I’m in the process of joining the peace corps, and where I’m being sent, I’m most likely signing up for an utter lack of personal privacy, and no sex.

I’ve thought about it, but there definitely needs to be an understanding of what this is on both sides, and I generally don’t think people should date horny. It’s like going to the grocery store hungry. I’d also most likely drop the dude if I started having feelings, and I’d feel bad about that.

Honestly the only comeback you need is “Take a hike”. If he is that irresponsible, and willing to sacrifice your safety and piece of mind for his pleasure, that already tells you he’s selfish and useless in bed.

That’s icky behavior. The blocking is still uncalled for. I still don’t really know what to do about the chair with OLD. If I make it known I get creeps, but I’ve had men who seemed great become really irate about being “tricked” when we meet for coffee.

Wheelchair user here. I think the hiding is somewhat reasonable Honestly I used to have waist up photos in my tinder, and then just drop it into the text conversation because otherwise you get a bunch of weirdos who only talk about the chair, or creeps who find your perceived dependence sexy. Like, I’m an ecologist, I work in research, I love to ski, I’m joining the peace corps. Up your game men. The creepy behavior of his was uncalled for. I’m sorry.
