I feel like I've always been this way but it got worse when I went through my breakup. I'm completely over him now it's been months but he really shattered my self esteem. So I guess I just crave guys telling me I'm pretty because he made me feel ugly.

I'm so glad I'm not the only person who thinks this way.

I'm shook so that means when she was in ahs she was in her 50's. Never would have guessed

I will. You know so many other subs shit on this sub but I've never actually been a part of a sub that's genuinely so uplifting all the time so I literally love that. You guys are all so amazing and sweet

So basically the rose colored glasses thing was a stupid metaphor ( I was a little drunk when I wrote this so it came out kind of cheesy I feel ) meaning I always want to see things the best way as possible like I purposely make myself ignorant about things because I dont want to actually think about the bad. But that only lasts for so long and when I cant do that anymore its really hard for me because all the bad comes at once. And I thought about therapy sometimes but I also feel like I'm kind…

Your comment resonates with me a lot because your second paragraph really describes me a lot which is something I've struggled with my whole life. I have tried to get therapy for it but my dad always said adhd is something you can work on yourself which I can get but sometimes it's too hard to work on yourself. If you cant even get yourself to focus on what interests you how can you do it when its stuff you dont care about? But I'm still on my parents insurance so getting help for it is still ki…

You're right I need to learn how to motivate myself and actually learn new things. My laziness has absolutely depressed me and I guess because I was always so bad academically and no one ever actually called me smart growing up I just figured I was a lost cause which is definitely no excuse

Idk I've always been afraid I was the boring one so I always try to mask it with jokes and quick comments/sarcasm. And idk no one has ever really charmed me. except the occasional crush that always went wrong lol. But I actually never knew about the studies that attractiveness actually can correlate to intelligence. I guess it kind of makes sense because attractiveness is truly based on healthy genes

Thank you I will definitely check it out! I've been really getting into self help books ( even though people like to bash on them ) because it's so refreshing hearing others perspectives on things

Girl I cant do pottery for shit or any kind of art lol but thank you for the encouraging comment I do hope I can find something I'm good at

Its definitely not dyslexia only because reading was the only thing that really came naturally to me but adhd was something I always wondered about especially because my mom has it

Bruh I'm crying this was my ex. I literally went way below my league for him and made myself a pretty little doormat for him and he found so many ways to degrade me and feel less than. The pain hits differently when it's from a guy you think should have deserved you. All I know is never again. I'll never be a doormat again and I'll never keep giving chances to low value men.

And this is why this whole give "nice guys" a chance has always infuriated me. Because everytime I did I was always treated so badly and that's partly because your answer resonated with me. I didnt pick a "fuck yes" I picked a guy who didnt have other options because I wanted to give him a chance and when I did I feel like it was far worse. And then as superficial as it sounds I felt so much more less because I gave an ugly guy a chance to fuck me over so hard. So then I wonder what kind of tras…

I dated an unattractive man. My stupid thought was wow hes so nice idc that hes unattractive maybe thats why he treated me like such a princess. I fell for it and for him. Dating him was the most miserable I've been in a long time. He treated me like absolute garbage once he had me. And then he easily cast me away. And at risk at sounding like a bitch I was a lot better looking than him. I didnt understand why he didnt want to give me the world when I would have for him. So yeah dont be fooled b…

Yeah so I literally feel no empathy for self proclaiming "nice guys" complaining girls dont give them a chance. Because when they do they treat them like trash lol

Thank you it's been a long road. I've let guys walk all over me in fear of hurting their feelings. I definitely shouldn't have explained myself but it got the message across and now he hates me. It's nice catching these behaviors early though because old me might have fell for it

How am I being manipulative when I dont wanna lead a guy on? I've been straight with him telling him how I feel and everytime I do he gives me a lecture on how I need to let my past go and to not let my past affect him. Its frustrating to keep hearing that because that has nothing to do with it. Saying I'm not interested in a guy doesn't mean I'm just a broken woman who is afraid to date. It shows how egotistical he is on his part

A guy who has tried to get with me for a couple months now. Every time I say I'm not interested he says the same crap. I guess his ego is so shallow it's easier for him to think there's something wrong with me and not just the fact I'm not interested

I just dont understand how someone can act so stupid when you call him out on it! Not sure how I dont wanna date correlates to how I need to let go of my past

You know what else is hurtful? Reading the r/mgtow subs and other subs like it. They say way more degrading stuff about women than what is said on here. I understand that there are some good men out there and I have guy friends myself but being ignorant about them and what they can do has caused me a lot of grief over the years.

Yeah my favorite is when a nice guy parades around and when you give him a chance hes worse than the self proclaimed assholes
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy22/10/19 09:32 PM

Damn I did not know that. I feel like in my age range it's not so much I'm 22 and most of the people my age I'm around are healthy sizes.

Yeah he came across as a super nice guy. Wasnt my type but we were close and he treated me like a princess at first. Then he turned out to be one of the worst guys I ever dated. Its always hard because guys do so well at manipulating. But one thing I know for certain I'll never let a guy walk all over me like he did.

I got examples too all from my recent ex he was the poster child of man toddler. One time I got him to try new food because he was so picky and only ate burgers. I told him I paid for it and took him to this super mild asian place. He basically got noodles with chicken tenders, refused to eat it and moped around like a little bitch and kept saying in a high pitched voice that he cant eat stuff he doesn't like or he will throw up. Another time I said something he didnt like threw a tantrum and re…

He kept ditching our plans to hang out with friends so much so we started fighting about it. Told me he was tired of fighting dumped me over text and told a friend he just wanted a girlfriend he could hit up when he was bored.

Seriously though. I love that woman, and seeing her live was amazing. Between songs she would make amazing little pep talks. Not to mention she sounds amazing live.

It really does. When I did that I was so much happier than when I was in my toxic relationship.

Girl I feel that. That was my life all after high school. I truly hope you do find that because its helped me. One thing you can try is use the bumble app and set it to friends. When I lived in Florida I did that and actually met some pretty cool girls.

Well I'm just saying you're not supposed to be on this sub

Arent you a male? Why are you on this sub?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy14/10/19 02:07 AM

Right? Which is why I used to frequent twox a lot but its such a large sub and half of it are men. So it's nice to have one where the mods make sure youre a woman based on post history.

Honestly I'm not sure. I dont know how I can pivot this for financial benefit either because right now hes not making that much because he just graduated not too long ago and is at an entry level job. We just get along so well hes also friends with my good friend
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/10/19 07:57 PM

Yeah you're right. It's just always how it is. Guys only want to hook up with me. I'm not sure why, I dont think I give off a desperate vibe. With this guy we were supposed to hang out multiple times but didnt hang out with him right away so it wasnt like I was at his beck and call
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/10/19 07:54 PM

Thank you for that. What other post did you read?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/10/19 07:52 PM

I mean I think it's kind of valid. Hes not from this country and none of his family lives here. Hes 26. I told him I just wanted to be friends and he still wants to hang out with me so idk
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/10/19 07:52 PM

You're right. I guess I'm just afraid I'll always be in this wierd cycle. I was single for so long before my ex and when I finally got into a serious relationship it was so bad I'm afraid that's all that will happen. I lowered my standards so much let him walk all over me and that was the only serious relationship I was able to get in since high school. Not to mention all my friends have had no issues.

I didnt I just said we can be friends then. But we are still hanging out Tuesday so I'm inviting my friend now because it's not a date anymore 🤷‍♀️

Lol my ex was ugly. He was 5'5 and fat. Everyone always made comments on how I could do better but I didnt care because I really liked him. I liked his personality. And He liked me because I was so much prettier than him, and that's not me even being mean. People told him this. So who's more superficial? Not to mention he still treated me like garbage and broke up with me.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/19 07:18 PM

Apparently he doesn't want anything serious with anyone. He might not live in this country for past a year which makes sense but makes me sad cuz we click so well. He told my friend he really liked me but timing is bad. So there's that
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/10/19 07:07 PM
2

Yeah back before he deleted his account if I replied to someone who wasn't him he'd immediately reply back which I called him out on because he wouldnt have gotten a notification for that. He also copied and pasted the same paragraph to my post many times and when I tried to reply he would delete and then repost so I couldn't talk to him
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/10/19 08:14 AM
3

Its just frustrating because I heard if a post has zero votes it gets hidden from subs and I dont want to not be able to participate like I used to. I also am afraid hes made multiple accounts to do this because I'm noticing more than one downvote on each post now
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/10/19 08:09 AM

Honestly though you're painfully right. Countless times I've been used by men and they went along their day happy as clams. Time to turn the tables.
