Thanks for this. I've barely gotten my toes wet and I'm just now realizing how far I've got to go, and the shit in myself that I need to work though. But hey, I used to never go to the gym and now I go four times a week, so new habits are possible.

Hi, you're right, in some ways, but I disagree in others. True, my parents didn't "neglect to teach me," that's just a bunch of self-pitying bullshit that I wrote when I was drunk. At the same time, I AM NOT comfortable with my sexuality, in any way, shape, or form. I feel a deep shame about my desires and that causes me to suppress them as much as possible, especially around a woman that I'm attracted to. Hmm, that's a really good point that I hadn't thought of. Tbh I might have preformed better if I hadn't been vicariously ashamed because of the other guy's behavior. Gotta stop blaming myself for when other guys fuck up.

Thanks man, I appreciate the support. I like the advice about keeping a lower profile, I don't want to become the dancing monkey of the scene. High energy does NOT necessarily translate into low neediness; sometimes it's quite the opposite

Lol yeah, or I'm trying to. I've read this shit for years but now I'm trying to actually learn it, treat it like a skill that requires practice, and one of the ways I do that is by writing it all down.
