My mum and cousins recently lightly gave me grief because I blocked a guy on insta. He’d slid into my DMs and the convo consisted of ‘hey you’ve lived in japan how cool’ and ‘maybe you could take me there’ as game. He ended up asking me to meet despite knowing NOTHING about each other. I asked him his age - thirty one. My mum was like ‘oh no, he’ll probably feel bad!’ good. He either a) can’t read because my age was on my profile, or b) is okay with going for girls 7 years younger than him which…

I declined his date offer from the day before for wine and cheese at his place (what am I a mouse lmao) This cracked me up 😂 You missed that trap!

Lmfaooo I really don't get guys like this. I went on a date years ago with a guy who kept dropping hints he was looking for a casual hookup. I let him keep talking, and he started talking about how the last girl he hooked up with him was sooo transactional and just hooked up with him and left, and that he wants to chat and get to know girls first before sleeping with them. Bruh, it's casual sex for a reason, you're not there for personality. It's like they want women to pretend to like them so t…

Not OP, but I just realised I'd read one of her other books too... I saw it was highly recommended but literally from the get-go it's about the ML salivating over the FL. (He literally describes her as having a “porn star body.”🤢) This is a romance book, give me the romance!!

@-ing Albanian men specifically cause it's such a huge problem. The men marrying outside their race? Marshallah, beautiful. The women marrying outside their race? Disgusting, how dare you, you should be keeping the culture going. Utterly stupid.

Most of the comments have already said stuff I agree with, so my only addition is: yes, be aware there are cultural issues BUT remember assholes transcend culture. I dated two Asian guys - the first one I was worried he was just too shy to hold my hand in public because of "culture." Nope, he was just a jerk who used that as an excuse. My second ex was very affectionate. This might not help you directly as you are Asian, but I hope it helps someone else who reads it. Don't use culture to explain…

I think at the end of the day, even if you believe in astrology or not, you can at least react respectfully - "Oh, it's not for me,' is a phrase I've used many times. reacting in the ways above just show a lack of manners and respect - for some reason guys especially hate it because of their boner for Logic.

I have SEEN a male friend swipe like this in real life - his argument was that 'well I need to do this so I can get 3 matches'. The fact that you're getting 3 matches' should be telling you something buddy.

It's so telling that they talk about children as a consequence - they view it as a punishment for women who don't want kids.

Right!! They literally said they found reducing the depth of penetration lead to a drop in pleasure, what do you mean 'it might' 🙄

The group size is small, but it's actually wild to me they've never tested something like this before.

Article below as it's paywalled. The age-old question of whether size matters has been tested in a scientific experiment for the first time — and the conclusion is that it might. Previous research into penis length and women’s sexual pleasure has tended to rely on surveys. A new study from King’s College London recruited 12 sexually active couples. The male partner was asked to reduce artificially the depth of penetration by placing a range of different silicon rings around the base of his erect…

As someone with an actual UK law degree and Masters you literally HAVE to do the criminal module which covers rape idk how she's claiming she didn't cover it. Anyway, sexual assault on males by females can carry the same sentence as rape, but the law (rightly) makes a distinction between penetration with a penis and other sexual assaults.

This is from someone from a similar background - I honestly don't have a good answer! If someone specifically asks if I'm a virgin or not I take it as a red flag. I'm okay with telling others that I've been on dates - I would only tell others that aren't from my culture that I've had a relationship before.

Ex has been posting a lot more on social media about going out with his friends - it's a little hard to see because I'm not doing as well as him. It was a mutual break-up because we didn't see our futures realistically coinciding. Logically I know I'll be alright - I've gotten over breakups and fallen in love again before, so I'm sure I'll be fine, but this period just sucks.

I was in a LDR. Everything was "right" - we'd initially started dating in a normal relationship, I got to know what he was like & we matched very well. When the transition to LDR came we were very independent and didn't compromise on what we wanted to do solo. But even with doing everything "right", at the end of the day, you can't escape the ending - you ideally want to get married/close the gap. And that's something that should be done after a year or two of dating. People who are out there da…

I'm so drained. My grandfather was put in hospital, so my mother's flown over there to take care of him. Meanwhile as the oldest girl in my family I'm de facto left in charge of the housework :( Cooking, cleaning etc is way more tiring than when I was living by myself. Plus, I'm keeping up with my studies but I'm behind on applying for jobs, and with my graduation date looming I'm more stressed. I've booked my first therapy session for next week, so fingers-crossed that'll help!

Yes! I was hanging out with uni friends yesterday and was happily surprised when we all agreed on topics - splitting the bill being wack, a guy hurting you and calling you a slut while being intimate was not on etc. It was so refreshing.

I'll tack hiking onto this too - I hiked once with my LV ex and could tell he was unhappy my pace (I was a beginner and this was a 1300m+ mountain!) He matched my pace, but he didn't listen when I asked for a break and kept pushing me to go faster to the point where I welled up. My current boyfriend when we went hiking: slow, took plenty of breaks, offered to carry my bag. There is a point where you have to decide whether the exercise you're doing is a solo or team venture - people who act like …

I was talking with one of my high school students who graduated a few days ago, and they updated me on their life and how they're dating now and it's their girlfriend's birthday soon. He showed me a photo of his present and a new pair of shoes and socks, a product from lush, two earrings, and another wrapped gift. He'd put all of these in two shoeboxes with some paper hay inside decorated with flowers. It was so sweet, but now I'm here thinking that I know my boyfriend is not going to do anythin…

I got really sad realizing it this Christmas actually. My mum put all this effort into setting up and getting the presents ready, and I'm still pissed about how my dad made two side comments about how this was a waste of money, and that she shouldn't be working (prompted because she got a present from some of the children at work calling her the best TA.) She was really happy with how the day went overall (I bought her a new laptop! :D), but I still hate my dad lmao.

It's horrible. I had a recent night out with two other girls from uni, one confessed about a terrible experience she'd had with a guy and we all had our own shitty experiences we shared. I hate how likely it is every single woman you know has had bad experiences at the hands of men.

You're right on focusing on engagement because I think that's what it pretty much boils down to if you go LDR. I've only dated him a few months so I have no idea if I know him well enough to get engaged!

Anyone got any tips or questions to ask yourself before committing to long distance? My boyfriend recently suggested trying to make it work, and while a few months ago I would've been over the moon, right now I'm wondering if I should go for it even with no "end goal" in sight.

I will always be pissed about the fact that as the eldest daughter I had to choose a university that was close to home because god forbid I live away from my parents watchful eyes. Ended up commuting two hours each way every day. As soon as my younger brother got the chance though? He was allowed out. You get the experimental parenting as a first born, and the shitty control as a daughter.

I think what I struggle with the most about forgiving myself is I didn't go with my gut reaction to dump him, but forgave him. It's like I was so close to doing the right thing and tripped at the last hurdle.

Thanks for the clear cut answer - I'm sure I'll be crying on that 12hr flight as well. I've brought up the going cold turkey thing with him afterwards because I know dragging things out doesn't help. I have other friends so I'll try and fill my time up with them too!

I started dating this guy around 3 months ago and we decided to date with an end breakup in mind (I'm leaving his country at the end of summer). He's very consistent in his actions, listens when I exert my boundaries and is generally and overall loving and affectionate guy. What I'm struggling with now is how to tamper my feelings toward him now that the end date is coming up. Have any of you ladies been in a similar situation, or have any advice?

My ex was Japanese and pretty affectionate. People are always different. That being said, there are a lot of guys who don't want to deal with certain relationship aspects in Japan because they can easily find a lady who will let them put 10% into a relationship. If you ask something of him like more affection, and he just responds with 'you're overthinking,' or 'that's just how I/japanese people are' then that's a LV trait. Keep in mind this is not just a Japanese thing and men everywhere do thi…

Hey, exact same situation here! (Hobby in question is badminton lol). Literally just ignore or 'hm, okay' him, and stick to playing with one or two people in the group. If you keep yourself busy with other people he won't have the opening to drop a remark.

Mentioned his whole life experience with dating apps, how tinder has tourists and on both that and bumble guys get no matches. Hey, the best thing to do is to be compassionate to yourself. I was in a similar situation where breaking up didn't even cross my mind with my ex and I had my first time with him. It obviously didn't work out, and I felt terrible afterwards. Like you said, logically you know these men just used us, but emotionally it takes a while to catch up. Be kind to yourself, you went in with the best of intentions, and learnt from your experiences.

Mine. The extent of her advice was 'don't have anything to do with men, no dating no nothing, all they want is sex.' And to an extent it's true, but as a young girl who was gonna date anyway more concrete advice other than abstinence would have helped.

Dinner, coffee shop break to study (I had a test the next day and he wanted to help), then we spent some time at a rose park where a jazz band was playing outside. He asked me out then so it had to be a good date lol. Most mediocre date was last weekend, had lunch, convo wasn't flowing, got coffee afterwards where he proceeds to show me a 15min TED Talk about magic or smth. I asked him what he learnt about it, he said 'magic is real.'

I had the same thought process!! "wtf how do you expect me to work on any of this if you don't tell me???" like a relationship is a two-way street, if you don't want to walk side by side I'm not chasing you.

He would never post often, but when we broke up he did. I'd keep refreshing the IG activity tab and scrolling through his thousand followers (what I was looking for I don't even know). I snapped myself out of it when IG removed the activity page and I took it as a sign to unfollow and move on.

I legit had a moment of clarity when I heard my ex say shit like 'I'm not a good person,' 'I'm sorry I'm not what you expected.' etc. Thank the lord when he said I deserved better after dumping me I looked him in the face and said yeah

That metaphor is such bullshit and you can make your own ones up. What if his dick is a pencil and a vagina is a sharpener. A guy who uses his pencil too much becomes a stub and is useless to any one. You can literally use any metaphor to further your own agenda 🙄

That first para is a mood aha. And I love how you starred m*n 😂 I'm going a bit less, but the two times I've gone I've ignored him and talked to other people. I've blocked him on social media, so even if he wants to weasel he can't. It helps knowing you're rooting for me! I won't say I'm over it completely, but the yo-yoing moods have definitely become easier and quicker to bounce back from :)
