HA! I've been in exactly that spot. Before we had a similar conversation, shooting was "too scary." Now "I feel like I should be able to protect myself." AWALT down to the details.

No, the advice above on staying in the house is what you should follow. If you're a lion, that house is your little piece of the Savannah. As far as social media and social proof, let me be clear: YOU ARE THE PRIZE. If you are doing any self improvement simply to bring your wife back, you're doing it wrong. You should look at this as an endeavor to sculpt yourself into a strong, masculine man. As you improve, you will notice other women taking an interest in you and an overall sense that you are…

I don't feel like any of your interpretations are necessarily wrong, but you're looking at it the wrong way. She's giving you every reason to bail on her, because she wants you to make her chase you. It's already been said: stop paying attention to her. Go lift, read sidebar books in the park, go on a solo camping trip. For now, you are your only priority. If she maintains her attitude, start dating other chicks even if you aren't fucking them. The point is to give yourself abundance mentality, …

I've been using /u/BluePillProfessor's podcasts as a proxy for the MRP sidebar in audiobook form, and it's been tremendously helpful to have the information compressed, if you will. As far as the wardrobe, I've been amazed at the complacency of other men even if I'm only on my way down the rabbit hole. The number of men in sweatpants is incredible. As far as going dark on electronics for a while, I've been giving that serious thought. I haven't had a social media profile in a while so Reddit is …

I'm at an impasse where I realize I need to realize the difference between the way she initiates: duty vs horny. I'm getting to the point where I can tell the difference, and if it's duty I'll generally walk away while if it's her actually wanting a fuck I'll go for it. I make a point to initiate constantly, but I'm trying to get her away from the opinion that I NEED her pussy to be happy. What I need (and what I'm trying to instill in her) is motivated, enthusiastic sex, but duty sex is unaccep…

My thoughts on outfits are that they aren't actually gifts for her, they're gifts for yourself. I don't buy my wife an outfit because I'm trying to win her affections, I buy it because it pleases me to see her wearing what I've decided is attractive on her. It's for me, but let her think what she wants. Think about perfume, would you buy your wife perfume if you didn't like the scent yourself? Do you enjoy the smell? Even with gifts like that, it isn't necessarily about her, although I suppose i…

Shit I'm owning: -Been lifting like an animal for ~9 months since I put a weight set in my basement. I've made it clear that I'm not to be disturbed when I'm lifting, and have turned lifting into a time for audiobooks or quiet meditation. -Bought a new wardrobe to go with my new muscular physique, and have started dressing up every morning rather than the simple jeans and tshirt combo I've been wearing since high school. Had a college chick approach me and introduce herself last week. The change…

After quite a bit of thought on this recently, I've come to the similar conclusion that my wife isn't refusing out of a lack of attraction, but almost a sense of embarrassment at some of my requests from her. As a bit of a test, I told her to put on an outfit I'd gotten for her, and she turned bright red and muttered something about not looking good in it. When she did put it on, I made a big show of it, took pictures, and proceeded with the caveman. The point is that she did put it on when I to…

I agree, I was vague. I obviously want better than what I'm getting, but would my point be more heavy-hitting if I just stopped making an apparent effort for sex at all? For example, she offers duty sex every other day or so. Should I just let her do her thing, and otherwise focus solely on myself? From my view, it seems that this would be better Dread than being aggressive and making an effort for something I know will be half-assed for now.

This post was fantastic, and might be the most timely to my situation I've read so far. If my wife is putting out starfish, would a better strategy be to go Monk Mode than to try to directly improve the starfish situation? As you said, ceasing to talk or care about sex is generally Dread, so should I take it to an extreme and be completely apathetic while in Monk Mode? Or should I continue to be aggressive and IDGAF to whether she's into it? It seems like apathy would hit harder, since at this p…

I'm in the process of finding a lawyer for the reasons you've laid out. I have no immediate intention of leaving, but it would be helpful to have an understanding of who has the cards and how a divorce would pan out, particularly since I'll be making more than her in a short time. I don't want to shoot myself in the foot. As far as the OI, I tend to withdraw when I'm frustrated with something. In instances like a denial, I generally keep my mouth shut for as long as it takes me to regain control…

I'm pulling quite a few things to be working on from this post, and I appreciate it. There are some books to re-read, including SGM and Meditations. I'll implement everything you've said about sex and DEVI immediately, including what /u/BluepillProfessor mentioned about walking away on a denial. A lot of this, for now, sounds like "fake it till you make it," since I need to force her and myself back into a position where sex is a priority for the both of us. It's probably time to break out the h…

I have done what you've mentioned as far as walking away upon an actual denial. That part isn't difficult; I have better things to do. The starfish is baffling and frustrating, because I see the same thing you do: I don't want to discourage effort even if it's half-assed. On the other side of the coin, I don't like reinforcing that half-assed effort either. I should work on building SMV and the like, but in the meantime I can't figure what should be done about the starfish. If I go for it, she t…

You're right, I seem to be loaded with covert contracts. I work, attend uni, and I'm the primary caregiver for the kids because she works evenings. I shouldn't be expecting her to change, but through the entire process of changing myself I've seen nothing different from her. It's certainly resentment, because I could pull someone who is dedicated to me if I were to leave this marriage. Even if I quit school today, I could earn double her salary without much effort. I have no fears of leaving and…

First off, I appreciate your input on this; I've been reading your articles and listening to the podcasts quite a bit recently, and they've helped me tremendously. In my very early days of MRP, I talked too much and did too little. It resulted in my current situation of starfish sex which she thinks is what she needs to do to appease me. I've been initiating as much as I can, but as I discussed with /u/strategos_autokrator, I'm at the point that I'm frustrated to the point of not even being inte…

I appreciate the input and not just a simple downvote (not sure why I'm getting those), so thank you. If this is my fault then TELL ME WHY. She's never been particularly impressive in the sack or otherwise, I've been with multiple women who could maintain a home and sex life while they also work, and maybe that's my frustration. She's got some complex about working a long day and then coming home for a fuck because she's tired, so she wants to offer a starfish and then pass out. I'm wondering wh…

You're absolutely right as far as I can see. I've believed this is my fault from the beginning, but I couldn't see what needed to change. My lack of interest is a factor, if not the root cause of this specific problem. I need to be more sexually aggressive and maybe that will turn things around. I take care of myself and I'm a good looking individual, but her perception of herself being of higher SMV because of her position isn't something is considered. I know I could do well on my own, and I k…

Out of all this, I can say I'm not doing the "sexual monster" thing as much as I could, maybe because I'm just not interested, which may be the answer to my own question. She doesn't seem interested in sex, and I'm completely turned off to the idea of her doing it because she's trying to keep me complacent. I'd rather go without than do that, and I've shut down the starfish thing several times. I'm bored, fully prepared to leave, and the worst I can do right now is piss off a woman who thinks sh…

I'd put myself at level eight, with about two months in each (I've always been confused about whether one spends a month per year for each level, or a month per year divided by the levels). I've been dressing up on a more daily basis, and when we were out the other night she overheard a table of women discussing me in VERY complimentary tones. I had just been talking to them and having a good laugh, then I rejoined my table. I'm beyond building a life apart, although I've been considering taking…
