Just letting you know that I'm going to be in the same boat. I'm going to try and convince her to do a joint agreement, but who knows what will happen. We know they're all crazy.

I need to have this talk. How did you initiate the discussion?

If divorce is no contest and the MSA showed an imbalance of assets, will it still be accepted by the judge? In SC, at fault can be filed, equitable division State Are marital assets almost always split equally? Or maybe balanced at the end?

I have a similar service. Check what lawyers are available to you. Sometimes the service will cover the initial consultation. It's worth at least that. See if you can talk to at least 2 or 3. I think nothing wrong with the service. It's just like a referral program.

As long as you can get together and sign some papers, it should be a pretty easy process. Maybe look to Mediation for help with the paperwork.

How long have you been married? Have kids? Assets? If nothing much of those, you can self file, but it's still good to have a lawyer to consult for your best interests.

Thanks. I've been searching for a couple of weeks for exactly this.

It's going to be interesting for me. STBXW sister and mother take care of my kid a lot after school. Especially more now that STBXW has moved a few hours away. My kid sees her aunt like a second mom. I've appreciated the support but they don't know yet that we are going to file for divorce.

I'm pretty sure she hasn't talked to her family. They don't talk like that. Thanks for the advice on the counselor for the kid.

Thank you for this. I'm not normally whiney. I have another post that details my story, but it's basically like every one else's. Thanks for the script on how to talk to my kid.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
