I've been procrastinating long enough, 3 years is a long time. I was afraid of separating it family of 3, when my kid was 5. I wanted her to grow up with both parents and have family dinner, game night, bed time stories, vacations, and etc. I thought we could reconcile. I thought I would be ok with a loveless marriage, sacrificing that part of my happiness for my kid's. I (37M) have been with her (38F) for 19yr now, married for 12. Separated for 1.5yr. I think I just experienced DDay for the 3rd time. I'm not sure if this last one counts because we are currently living separately, but it still hurt and makes me angry. Not because I still love her romantically, we don't talk anymore unless it's about the kid. It's more about how I have zero trust in her now. I find it disgusting how selfish she is and that she seeks this unhealthy attention and approval from these guys. Left me to deal with taking care of our house, 2 dogs, bills. At least she's making enough money to pay her own rent.

So I did something finally, but I have so many questions. I'm in SC. We have shared mortgage. Both have retirement and investment accounts.

  1. Called to setup an appointment with a lawyer and gathered asset statements. How long is too long to wait to talk, appointment is in 2 weeks?

  2. Collected evidence. Should I confront her about it? Is there a point? Will she really care how I feel?

  3. Found out that she never got over the first AP. Found out who the current AP is, found his partner. Should I contact the AP partner?

  4. My in-laws help out tremendously, her mom and her sister. When do I reveal to our family?

  5. How do I reveal to my kid? How do I console her when she's crying for her mom and I can't explain why she's not home?
