So so sad for that little guy!! And the poor innocent father who lost life due to a reckless police officer...

I did hire a lawyer to draft it all and she is aware of this .. her sis is In legal field as well and she has run it by the legal folks there. So it’s not too shabby actually. But let me look into the ‘modifications’ if that’s what triggered the judge to wait and watch.

I relate to your story completely. The only difference in my case : I have 2 daughters and perhaps there was even more severe and chronic abuse in my marriage (which eventually escalated into physical abuse , a knife attack). 4 months ago I had to call cops, and now I’m in process of separation officially. You NEED to cut your losses NOW! She will ruin your physical/mental health due to her unending toxicity. With her gone, you’ll make back all of that lost $ and a lot more, I am certain. I’m st…

Haven’t started myself yet but everyone I know that loves and supports me says the same!! They tell me to do deep breathing and meditation every morning and night - or one of the two times. That alone anchors your mind in the present tense and allows you to detach from past tense and future tense- all you have to do is “watch your breathe as you inhale and exhale”. I plan to start doing this but haven’t gotten around doing it since first thing I do when I wake up is “ worry about kids breakfast …

IMHO, mediation is ideal if STBX is reasonable and isn’t bitter! Lawyers are, by nature, going to cause escalation. It’s a tough one, just pick the one that has the most approachable personality, is likable and communicates well (replies fast) and doesn’t charge travel fees (unless they charge a fixed $ amount for a visit to the courthouse). IMHO, I don’t mind paying them for their time when they are using their brains and education to solve my case but I hate the thought that I have to pay some…

You are a good dad! “Kids are far more resilient than we think” - words from my therapist - not me! Wishing you well brother!!!

Got me at the last sentence 😂! Jokes apart, I only realized my kids true relief once we separated.. what a mess it is for them! Sorry you are going through this OP! Stay strong, and follow the advice you’re getting here if you agree 💪

She slept with you the first time with a Mission perhaps! It was to trap you so she could come to USA. Only time will tell what’s truth.

100% !! And I relate to this myself! It sucks that even being a breadwinner, always had to eat scraps and leftovers and still needed permission to even eat that !

This! Many stay in without realizing that every day you prolong, you are just going to have to give her more, enabling her lazy self at your expense. Move on brother and fight for your daughter. Document her behavior first so it helps you with custody and getting a break on support. Sorry you are in this OP - stay strong!

Why are you assuming she will have the kids by herself? Is she abusing you? If yes, there are other avenues for you.

Find relatives or common friends - that’d be cheaper for you!

Thanks a lot. My therapist suggested a lawyer but she’s not available until mid-aug. counting days until then.

Thanks for the bluntness - need that straight talk. The kids want her to move out and I have evidence of her abusing them (pulled baby cam video with my older daughters consent - since I live in a one party consent). Will that help?

Not even when they constantly issue death threats and also swing a kitchen knife at the abused man? I’m looking for help in my own case.

I am really hoping to learn more about options we have... if we called cops in the midst of the rage episode, what can we expect? A RO? And then what? My old kid is constantly asking me to take action but she doesn’t understand that once we trigger it, hell will break lose. I wish there was a manual we could follow - it’s hard to act without fully understanding what to expect next and it’ll be costly to learn as we go.

feels like we are talking about the same person! I am in the exact same situation - feeling caged, waiting for the younger one to grow up slightly but can’t take the daily to hourly mad raging abuse from her that’s escalated into death threats daily, asking me to move out while she’s unemployed and hardly does one thing right in a given day other than watching TV and yelling at everyone in family. It’s hard to find a lawyer who’s ready to take my case - maybe I shouldn’t mention that my wife is …
