Even if you're Pro Se, it's still possible to have a lawyer review everything and give comments. If you shop around, ask for a lawyer who offers "unbundled" services. They only charge by the hour to give advice; they won't represent you in court or anywhere else.

In theory, you and your wife can get advice from the same lawyer. But the lawyer will likely be cautious and make you both sign a waiver stating that you understand it could be a conflict of interest. It's possible. But you could also use separate lawyers.

Or, you could just see a lawyer on your own and not tell her. Again, I'm talking about just an hour of advice and document review, not retaining a lawyer.

BTW, some of the best legal advice I got was from a low-budget lawyer who ran a small shop in a strip mall. I'm not even sure he wore a tie. Don't feel the need to use a lawyer wearing a $2000 suit from a prestigious firm with a prime downtown address. ^It ^was ^a ^true ^Better ^Call ^Saul ^meeting.

I don't have an answer, but I do have the same question. My STBXW and I are likely to agree on everything so I'm kind of in the same boat.

Divorce is a minefield and you need an expert to guide you through the danger zone so you don't end up like Lt. Dan. It is not the time to DIY. It's like operating on yourself. You can find a YouTube video to remove your own appendix, but that's not something wise to do. You get one chance to get divorce right so you want results, not a bargain. Trying to fix your marriage settlement agreement or parenting plan after it's final will cost you multiples of time, attention and money -- assuming you have a significant change in circumstances that allows revisiting it.
