Yeah, looks like I'm being a little extreme. I did use a spousal support calculator and it uses the date the relationship starts, not the date common law starts and came up with about $400/month for 2-4 years in a 2 year relationship between an 80K and 30K couple.

I don't know if it will destroy relationships, but it should make couples thing long and hard about their relationships and their futures together. It may be a good thing, I just doubt many people will even know about this until it's too late. A lot of couples "slide" into cohabitation.

2 years is not enough time to decide. This makes no sense, so let's say two people move in together and one partner makes $100k and the other makes $30k. The lower income partner stays in the relationship because it's easy and they can split rent. 2 years and 1 day later they meet another person and break up. Now they are entitled to 3-5 years of spousal support, as well as half all assets, and if the person making $30K a year also had $50K in student debt, now they only have $25K in student deb…

The guy who posted the comment calling these men "pussies" has apparently cowered and could not take any criticism "like a man". Hypocrisy at it's finest.

Yes—men who are stuck in abusive relationships with their girlfriends/spouses should stay in it and just take it...like a man y'know? It's alright to show weakness.

Exactly, I would've loved the option to not take a dump in a port-o-potty.

I don't think there's reason to be angry, it's just one of those funny things that you don't really notice usually.

By the end of the night, most of the men just said fuck it—mainly because they were drunk.

It's not 100% reversible, it depends on how long ago you received the vasectomy. http://www.vasectomymedical.com/vasectomy-reversal-success-rates.html Let's say you are 18, and don't plan on having kids until 30, so you get a vasectomy at 18 and want to reverse at 30, your success rate according to this article is only about 79% chance of the sperm returning, with only a 30% chance of pregnancy. If it's less than three years it's 97% and 76% respectively. It's definitely risky. This is one that …

Develop the RISUG or other easy, cheap, effective and reversible procedure which prevents sperm from entering ejaculate with 99%+ effectiveness and won't be having these issues. Give us reproductive rights, let us make the choice before sex whether or not we even want to risk it. All we have is condoms (not effective enough and awful to use), the pull out method (terrible) or the rhythm method (terrible.) Replace the bullets with blanks, problems will be solved. Quickly.

I appreciate having your point of view in here—I wanted to see the other side of the coin as I only had a bit of knowledge on this organization.

That's really what I felt was missing, I asked why they didn't and the canvaser said, well because the girls need the help more, etc, etc.

"Would you take issue with an organization only catering to boys?" I think it would be better if this organization had a linked organization that focus' on issues that boy's and young men face.

Fair enough, thanks for your thoughts!

I thought it posted a link, weird. http://becauseiamagirl.ca/

True, true. I'm not trying to tear this organization apart, I just wanted to hear other thoughts on it. It's hard to say that any NGO is perfect really, there's always going to be a couple iffy parts.

I don't think there is a problem with promoting girls a little bit more in this case (developing nations are a bit of a different story) but on the flip side it is heavily skewed towards women, or at least that's what the person was telling me when I was asking them about it. She barely discussed helping boys until I asked about helping boys in these areas too. Phrases like "Girls' Rights are Human Rights" I disagree with. Human Rights are Human Rights. Every person regardless of gender is entit…

I said after our first date (and once we'd agreed we wanted to go out again) with my current GF that I'm not going to be paying for everything and that I expect to split things going forward. I made it clear I was not a gravy train and we've been together for almost 2 years now. As long as you make it clear you can save yourself and your bank account some stress.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
