If your spouse is hiding and dissipating marital assets, then I would have to believe that hiring a solicitor to move as quickly as possible is the best route! Wishing you all the best!

If it’s “hey I’m wanting to start moving towards marriage. If that’s not what you are feeling, we might need to end it.” Were the "ultimatum" delivered in this or a similar manner, then it is an acceptable difference of wants and needs that would still require both parties to end the relationship. If it were delivered more like "It's my way or the highway," then she never really loved him for who he is, anyway, and he still needs to end it.

7 years, and she gets alimony?!?!? Is it temporary/bridge-the-gap till she starts earning more? What the hell?!?!?

Don't believe her. My wife said the same but wound up getting an attorney that started to make my life hell until I got my own.

I can vouch 100% for the fact it will only get worse!

Yes, riding a motorcycle is very therapeutic! I have a childhood friend who calls his motorcycle his "therapist." When he first told me that he rode his therapist, imagine what I thought 🤣🤣🤣

Yep! I stopped really working out 20 years ago because of marriage, and haven't ridden a motorcycle and all that time, too! I am determined to get well physically, emotionally, spiritually, etc., and to keep my priorities straight moving forward. I'm going to live my life and be purposeful and mindful, and any woman who wants to be with me has to align with that. If she wants to change me, then she'd need to go look for somebody else, I'm not her guy, and she is not my woman.

Did you lose a bunch of weight first? Or did you lift and lose weight while building muscle? I'm coming up on my 53rd birthday and I'm not a young buck anymore. My doctor has told me to lose weight first! Curious to know what you did

This is really encouraging to read. I weigh what you posted above here, and when at my fittest was around 235-240. Can't wait to get my gym game together!

Take my money now! I just was contemplating the need to dive into red pill after I separate in order to get back into the right mindset as a man and begin healing

Make it known to your mediators that you expect clarification IN THE DECREE on who can claim the kids for specific years (odd and even), or whatever arrangement you want

This is the way. You have to make it part of your divorce decree. That way, if she jumps the gun and claims the children, you have some recourse. Maybe not with the IRS, but definitely with her!

Florida resident, about to file, and am very thankful for this!

I hear you re: the dead bedroom! I'll never do that again!

So, I am going to be 53... Off the top of my head, I would date 38-55 (-15 to +2 years).

I'm curious to know your age... I would think that a 10-12 year gap is not that much for a 45-year old (meaning 33-35 at the youngest). I wouldn't find that creepy--a mentally-competent 33-35-year-old woman ought to know what she wants.

Wow! Having one woman leeching off you is enough, but TWO?!??!? Feel bad for you, man. What has your lawyer said about how this unusual situation your wife has put you guys in will play out in your divorce?

If you're Christian, may I suggest a faith-based divorce support group--if you live even in a smaller metro area, there are bound to be groups in your city. Not everyone's cup of tea, but it could be helpful for you to be with other people going through the same thing.

I really appreciate your comments and advice, as well as the link to that resource. You are absolutely right about the counseling being worthless, but I do need to keep up appearances for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that I have to get financially ready to be on my own.

Thank you for your reply and the call to focus... I fixed the length of this with a tldr at the top and really boiled down my questions.

Fixed it at the top with a TL:DR... Sorry, man. That was a rant fueled by insomnia, frustration, and desperate anger.

Get the vasectomy! Fertility clinics can aspirate sperm out of your balls if and when you do get with a woman with whom you'd like to have another child!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
