This is a great one to mention. Men have been pushed to "hide" their feelings to the point that even when they want to, they can't express them. But then, everyone acts like the shocked Pikachu meme when men's mental health keeps getting worse. As a child, that was how I was raised (single-mother home) and even to this day it has caused me issues. I'm much better than I was, but millions of men still struggle with this.

I hate this topic because they ignore key factors in why men do less "housework." First, how much money is brought in by the man vs the woman? If the man is working 70+ hours a week and bringing in $100k+ while the woman is a homemaker, then yes, she should be doing the vast majority of the housework. Even if the woman is working, if she is bringing in significantly less money and/or working fewer hours, the housework should be skewed in her direction. Secondly, housework isn't inherently unpaid…

I grew up in a single-mother household as the oldest of 5. I was always being manipulated, both by her and by others. I've struggled for a long time to set boundaries. I read "No More Mr. Nice Guy" and it was an eye-opener for how I was always giving of myself to others and not respecting myself. It taught me the power of the word "no." It's ok to say no to anyone, whether that be family, friends, women you are dating, or your boss.

I read the article and the summary from the study they link to. They discuss how interacting with certain "manosphere" content supposedly leads to increased misogynistic views. I got deep into the red/black pill for this very reason. As I didn't have a father in my life growing up, I only had the internet to "guide" me. Unfortunately, there is too much negative content that has proliferated here. The only solution I see is for men to keep pushing healthy content such that it overrides most of the current junk. I've started a YouTube channel along those lines (link in my bio) and hope that other men do.

Do I believe men can exhibit toxic behavior? Absolutely. But, I don't believe in "toxic masculinity" for the reason that its definition is always changing. I've seen the term used to describe everything from sexual assault/rape to watching violent movies. There is no consistency in its use whatsoever.

I see a lot of politics being discussed in this topic. Politics, by its very nature, is divisive. It divides people by race, by gender, and by simple differences of opinion. Men struggle enough without being further divided by political differences. Whether a supporter of the Trump administration or not, think about his message. Thank you for your thorough response. You cover a lot of ground and have some valid points. I will respond to a few of them: This is a complex issue, and blaming it on one group of people isn't appropriate. I would add that men have also contributed to this issue. This is far from a situation where it can, or should be exclusively blamed on women. This has happened gradually over the last 3-4 decades. My take on it is that women wanted the power and control men had in society. That power and control, however, came with drawbacks including long working hours, extreme stress, and the need to develop "masculine" traits to succeed. I will assume this is a legitimate question and answer it as such. Historically, "men's only spaces" were found in bars, gyms/boxing clubs/MMA, and various social clubs/fraternal lodges. These were never formally named as such, but it was very unlikely to find women in these places, and some even specifically excluded women. These were places where men could "be men" without concern about how women would perceive them. Now that it is illegal (at least in the US) for most of these places to be me…

That is a fair point. Historically, women's value has been seen in birthing children and raising them well. However, today, women can forgo children and build successful careers like men. I have no issue with that; it should be 100% their choice. As men build "accomplishments," women are increasingly attracted to them, even into their 50s (or later). I don't know why should be credited with this, but the way it was explained to me is the following: "Women are born with value while men have to make their value." Because women's inherent value comes from birthing children, they are protected strongly up to and through their childrearing years. "The wall" is them reaching the end of that period. Men, however, can continue to drive value until they die through their accomplishments.

From what you have provided, both the boy and the girl were forced into the marriage. I would hope that the girl's parents would have been arrested (had they been in that country). Young men are angry and confused, but that is the result of society's push to demonize them. Every space available to boys (and men) to be with other men has either been shut down, invaded by women, or treated as "bad." I've always assumed that the female equivalent to this would be punching a woman in her breasts. Some men might find that amusing, but I suspect most women would not. There is a strong stereotype that because are physically stronger (in general) than women, they can handle physical abuse better. Whether they can handle it better or not, however, doesn't change that abuse is abuse, regardless of the parties involved.

Can you clarify what type of discrimination involuntarily celibate men have against them? There are a lot of men, both under and over 30 that aren't getting sex for a variety of reasons. You can't just throw out a blanket statement of "discrimination" because there are many reasons for that. And yes, some of these reasons are unfortunately self-imposed.
