I love this. I noticed a guy was gassing me up left and right, only to find out he was basically saying the same things to other people. We have to question - does he just say this to everyone? If so, it just comes off as disingenuous and robotic.

So accurate. If they start trashing other women’s choices, music taste, style of dress…it’s a giant, glaring red flag that you’re next!

You’re right. We shouldn’t even need a modifier like “gentle.” It should be the default. But as always, the bar is in hell, and men apparently need to be linguistically reminded to treat women properly.

Sickening. Meanwhile the same men complain over a simple dental cleaning.

Beautiful. This deserves a million upvotes and awards. Remember this, ladies: As always, the men who dismiss us as toxic, dramatic, too sensitive, overreacting…are talking about THEMSELVES.

“LVM, fundamentally, are aware of their partner’s ability to do better than them.” 100% accurate and applicable to so many situations. The chronic insults, sarcasm, and jabs disguised as “jokes” are just reflections of their deep insecurity, jealousy, and poor ego structure. Do not tolerate this behavior for a second, ladies.

That’s amazing! I know the feeling. So happy for you. That’s what this community is all about. Wishing you well as you live your best life 💫

PREACH. This is exactly what LVM will do with sensitive information: weaponize it. They use your vulnerabilities to suggest “no one will want you” as a tactic to coerce you into staying in the relationship. This is precisely why we vet.

Ugh I totally agree. I absolutely hate that phrase and especially as applied to OLD. Why would we willingly “put ourselves” in hell?

News flash LVM: women shut down sexually when you have zero hygiene. The men who complain about “dead bedrooms” likely don’t own a toothbrush. Case closed.

Damn I thought I was the only one who watched this show. I agree the LVM seem to be the common denominator in a lot of the conflict. I’ll never forget that moissanite ring moment.

I would advise you to dump him immediately. Not kidding. I have been in this position (lies about student loans, financial situation, major purchases) and it only gets worse. If you forgive the lie, he will think that you will tolerate that behavior and it will continue. If you stand your ground and impose a consequence (leaving him) you are honoring your own standards.

“Corporate scams.” So accurate. LVM, take note: maybe take some personal responsibility for avoiding gift giving.

Why do unattractive men think they are the arbiters of attractiveness?! Who do they think they are? It boggles my mind.

I am so sorry. Men know exactly when we are vulnerable and then exploit us. I was in a similar situation though somewhat opposite - I was lying in bed after we broke up and he called me a baby and child for declining sex. “You know you’ve really regressed.” Well thanks for the causal infantilization. I had a panic attack. He followed me out to my car and screamed at me “Whose fault is this?!?!” Men are so depraved. Their behavior is horrifying and then they have the audacity to play dumb and say…

😂 Great story. I have heard so many of these lines, I’m convinced these men are essentially the same. “I’m sex deprived…spiritually speaking.” Boo hoo, read some more Deepak Chopra. We see through your bs, faux-feminists.

PREACH. I was already doing this pre-FDS, but frankly I’m relieved and happy to see it as a principle 😂

Yes absolutely. Women have been socialized to passively comply with the behavior of LVM. It sickens me to my core. Let’s normalize dumping at the first sign of depravity.

Agreed. We don’t need to “cOmMuNiCaTe more.” If anything, we actually need to communicate LESS! “Just cOmMuNiCaTe” will not solve fundamental relationship issues. Remember, we’re talking about LVM or NVM here. And why should WE be expected to bear the burden of responsibility for communicating when they lie, omit, and manipulate? I’ve literally been told “I hid [transmissible disease] from you because I didn’t want you to leave me.” 🤮 Sorry, this is not up for additional discussion. I left.

Moral of the story here is actions speak louder than words. My experience has been that they will try to placate you in the moment, but if they can’t keep promises, execute what they say they will do, or show consistent effort through BEHAVIOR, they need to be dumped.

Yes. And also, don’t accept an “enthusiastic” proposition to have sex if he decides you’re not it relationship-wise. That’s not a HVM. That’s getting fuck zoned.

See this is what we mean by getting “fuck zoned.” What’s going on in their heads in awful, but for LVM this is standard practice. They’d sleep with a plastic blowup doll ladies, it is not a compliment.

Yes, couldn’t have said it better myself. Don’t mistake early charm for consistent effort, and DO NOT put him on a pedestal. Date 1 - he’s on his best behavior ladies, and the mask usually slips. Never stop vetting.

Did we have the same boss? Money laundering, reminiscing about going to strip clubs, drinking on the job, making fun of my Jewish heritage - yeah, I said it. I, too, had to learn the hard way that I could not make him appreciate my efforts. He saw me as disposable. He gaslighted me, saying “I don’t want you to go home frustrated.” Then maybe get a clue and look at the tone you’re setting and how you’re treating your employees. Thankfully I got the hell out of there. Your concluding statement is …

This post is spot-on. It’s funny how they act so “gentlemanly” when they think sex is on the table, as if reading from a script. They feign interest, bring you water, even offer you a jacket…then they drop off the face of the Earth when you politely decline sex. It’s like they can’t see through the fog of their porn-infested brains.

Don’t even get me started on “I’m not looking for drama.” There are so many problems with this statement, I don’t know where to begin. Number one, it places the burden on women so we question if we’re being “dRaMaTiC” when we’re merely expressing an emotion or a dissenting opinion. Number two, LVM are usually such poor communicators that their conflicting statements cause undue stress, aka “drama.” Number three, I commented this on another post, but no well-adjusted person is looking for “drama.…

This was an excellent analysis and reflection. At this point, I’m convinced that everything LVM say is a projection or externalization of their own shortcomings. “She/they need therapy” is often code for “I think I am a perfect specimen and am not willing to look at my own issues.”

This is a very interesting topic. I have been subject to this as well and I too do not understand what is wrong with being a single woman and owning a cat or dog. Sounds like solitude to me. As always, there is no male equivalent for this insult. Nurturing and socializing an animal is a sign of high empathy, yet somehow it’s used as evidence that we’re not fit for a relationship. The implication is that we couldn’t “secure a mate” so we had to adopt a companion instead. I want to roll my eyes an…

Yes. And let’s also distinguish LVM-termed “drama” (aka women expressing themselves or holding LVM accountable for their questionable actions) from steering clear of unnecessary conflict.

COMPLETELY agree. It’s not a compliment and it’s actually quite objectifying. It echoes the Madonna-whore complex also. Either we’re placed in the “fuckable but not dateable” box or we’re categorized as a “good girl” who will be subservient to her man’s “needs.”

That’s great that she is getting help. Unfortunately we have to vet therapists also. Many are LVM apologists and “cOmMuNiCaTe” preachers. That’s not really your job in this situation though. You’ve already helped her a lot. We can’t save anyone if they aren’t willing to help themselves. All you can do is give general support/encouragement.

THANK YOU. And OP, for bringing up this topic. It’s just another pejorative term to shame women out of voicing their opinions.

Yup, mine said he got me a birthday gift (after not getting me anything for years), but he “left it in his car.” Either he doesn’t know how the postal system works or there’s no gift. Neither would surprise me at this point. These men simply do not care. It’s all empty promises and zero execution. They’re just vying for our attention and trying to weasel their way back in. They try to win us over with dollar store garbage…but it’s too late. Per the FDS mantra - “if he wanted to, he would” - have…

I agree. I told one therapist when my ex would chronically complain when we would go out. She said, “It sounds like you’re JuDgInG him.” Yes of course I’m judging him. I’m emotionally exhausted with the constant negativity. Another therapist asked me if I was manipulating when I said my ex would say that I cried too much. Please. Some therapists are not out for your best interests. They have the “CoMmUnIcAtE” mentality and will lead you to make poor choices. These therapists just want to keep yo…

I agree and just wanted to add that experiencing depression doesn’t automatically make you LV. Women have higher rates of anxiety and depression on average and society plays a role in that. I think there is a lot of gray area here because even with diet, exercise, sleep, therapy, etc, some women still experience depressive thoughts but are generally pleasant to be around and make great partners. As you pointed out, it’s how you handle it and manage it that counts.

That’s amazing! It sounds like you’re having a blast. And thanks for sharing your success story, it’s very encouraging to us all. May I ask, do you live in a big city? I always wonder about location as a factor

My personal reasoning included a high teenage libido and not considering alternatives to my situation. Thankfully I’ve since woken up and am now repulsed at the thought. There’s no shame in prioritizing physical attraction. I think the moral of the story here is to be honest with yourself and honor your feelings if you’re even remotely turned off.

Exactly. Other variations include “not sure what I’m looking for,” “don’t know if you’re the one,” etc. All tactics designed to obscure the language so you’re unsure of where you stand. Had to learn the hard way, if it’s a “maybe” then it’s a no.
