I respectfully disagree, and I don't think this is about pickup either. This is about building social skills for the benefit of all. It doesn't have to be based in manipulation and dishonesty. As Stroinks put it above, it's about enriching the lives of those around you. There was a solution in this situation that would have done that, and that's still being a decent human being.

When you do this and achieve that abundance mentality, what exactly changes so that you don't keep imagining a future together? Is it that you believe it's pointless? That making up stories about your future is unrealistic? I've never done this so I don't know why you would in the first place.

The reason women are attracted to red on men is because, on a psychological level, it triggers dominance response, and obviously women are attracted to alpha/dominant qualities. Have you guys hooked up before? It's easier to become FWB after the first hookup -- just follow the advice in this thread. If you haven't done anything sexual with her yet and you want to, just use all the other pickup material you know to seduce her. If she doesn't hook up with you after you've made an advance, you probably wouldn't have been FWB anyway.
