I'm not sure desensitize is the right word for this situation, though I do see where you're coming from. I'm in a similar situation and the only advice I can give you is to keep doing what you're doing. Look at it this way, if there's something you didn't like 5 months into the relationship you won't like it in 5 years. Why go back? I'm not sure how y'all ended the relationship in terms of a "good or bad" break up and that could be playing a role. Mine was the latter and it took me a very long time to finally realize she was a no good for me. Just keep up no contact and do what you do.
